If I was interested in forming a relationship then I would meet offline ASAP.

It should be called online introductions or similar, not online dating.
Online is just the precursor to dating. It is not dating. Dating is when you meet the person physically. See if there is an attraction both internally and externally, and if so, potentially move on to a relationship.
The internet just acts as the medium for the initial introductions.

Loving someone and sharing your life with them can be great. I do wish that whoever is looking for that to find it. Just chatting to someone via social media wouldn't cut the mustard for me.
I do think it is enough for some people that simply can't or don't want a regular partner.

I would find an online relationship weird, and frustrating.
I like normal interaction. Waking up together, eating together, making love together, chatting over a coffee, walking together, even arguing together. At least it's real.
