RE: Our Brilliant President Donald J. Trump.....

"There's y'all's bus/flight back. Hand over whatever money you have to help with the costs."

Is Trump building railroads?

Although he was short on specifics, the president said every federal dollar invested should be "leveraged by partnering with state and local governments and, where appropriate, tapping into private sector investment to permanently fix the infrastructure deficit."

"We will build gleaming new roads, bridges, highways, railways and waterways across our land," said Trump.

RE: Is this finally..... the tipping point ?

"...the marginally educated alt left moon bats..."

That's not a good way to start your comment when it's plain that you Ph.D level education wouldn't get you a GCSE above a grade D over here.

I would suggest you work on your basic grammar before you criticise anyone else's academic ability.

RE: Garnet4000

If it's another blogger, or forum contributor, you can leave a comment asking them to mail you. You'll be able to mail them back.

If it's a cold contact, take the hint. laugh

RE: Hallelujah...Finally the veil of ignorance has been lifted.

It's cognitive dissonance at it's finest.

I can't say I spend any time listening to Trump, but I wonder if he deliberately plays on the phenomenon.

It's jolly insidious if he does.

It might speak volumes about the self-, other- and social-awareness of his supporters. It might speak volumes about the esteem with which Trump regards his supporters.

Something about grabbing felines springs to mind.

RE: Don't panic, but it's Scorpio season

Regenerate...?

You mean like Dr. Who?

I hope I don't get one of those ridiculously long scarves for my birthday. I can't manage ridiculously long hair and a ridiculously long scarf. I might not get to the rebirth bit. dunno

RE: When will Brits learn to speak English?

I'm not familiar with all the variations of American accent.

Plainly, you're not familiar with the British accents. laugh

RE: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANGELPEPPER!

RE: Question for plus-sized females.

Rubenesque...?

RE: Question for plus-sized females.

RE: Question for plus-sized females.

Naww, what a nice man.

RE: Question for plus-sized females.

Mud slinging...?

Nah, we plus-sized hippos prefer to wallow in it.

Unless Mimi wants to wrestle in it with me, in which case, game on. shimmy grin

RE: What are some cultural differences between the UK and US

English: colour, favour, honour
American: color, favor, honor.

Now my spelling check thingy is going to have to have a lie down with a cold flannel on it's forehead.

RE: What are some cultural differences between the UK and US

The Americans are lazy with their letter 'u'. snooty

RE: Question for plus-sized females.

According to the fashion industry, I'm plus-sized.

RE: Why am here????

Sorry, I started writing a comment, didn't get very far and then hit the wrong button.

I think I need some sleep. laugh

Welcome back, I hope you enjoy developing your very good English and have some fun along the way. wave

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

Okay, I'm a little muddled about the history and sequence of events, but no matter.

Something in my own discussion history keeps coming back to me: A friend once expressed her disgust at some news footage of Eastern extremists celebrating the execution, or death of a person, or persons. I can't exactly recall, but I think it was one of those many hostage beheading situations.

It was at about the time Saddam Hussein was executed which was widely celebrated in the West, so I asked if 'we' hadn't exhibited the exact same behaviour.

We may look at Asia Bibi's case and say it's ridiculous, but we perhaps fail to introspect and acknowledge our own ridiculousness.

In the same way all acts of resistance against humanity contribute to an end result, so do all acts of resistance to humanity. Unless each of us takes responsibility for evolving our our own behaviour, we will find ourselves inadvertently contributing to and supporting acts of inhumanity.

If I want change, I have to start with me. Only then may I impact upon others with acts of humanity, or resistance against inhumanity.

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

As a matter of interest, what was the other blog?

Perhaps a PM if you don't want to say here.

I don't recall seeing a similar blog, so maybe it was just a matter of timing. dunno

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

Oh, I forgot to mention all those who resisted by surviving. Were they not real?

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

So, an SJW might once have been described as 'resistance'?

Some risked their lives, some lost their lives, some were part of a team, some acted alone, some made small acts of resistance, even just in their thoughts which no one could see.

Which ones were not real?

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

Okay, thanks Mic.

So, it's a way of categorising a group of people which may be used in a positive, neutral, or negative way without having to recognise individuality, or maybe humanity.

A bit like the way the words 'Christian', or 'Muslim' are used.

RE: "We Are The World"

Ooh, you've been looking at my profile. blushing shimmy

RE: SAVE ASIA BIBI - Resistance Int'l ~ UPDATE 5/08/19

What is an SJW, Mic?

RE: "We Are The World"

No going over bridges then, Loulou? super

RE: Wondering

What would it take to re-establish your life back to what it was before you rented from this landlord?

Medical bills up until now, plus any future medical needs?
Counselling to work through the mental anguish?
A roof over your head in the future?
Loss in earnings, past and future?
Your rent money back?
Loss of possessions?
Anything you now need which you didn't when in full health, like maybe transport, or higher heating bills?

Just a few suggestions to help you with your maths.

RE: "We Are The World"

Yeah-Nah, I think you haven't read nearly enough of my posts. grin

RE: Be Afraid, be VERY Afraid ! lol

I feel bad about scaring the Trumps.

The president plainly feels bullied and victimised.
