It is the same with Americans waving a constitution but have never read it. Or Geneva or declaration of human rights.
I would say, read those 10. write them in hand. read them again. And i kinda imagine that if you have to write them again that you would want to improve something on them.
As i don't see most of my money as it remains digital. And i paid for a house with a deal that i wouldn't disrespect the contract. where i promise to give access to my bank account. but it is all numbers.... on a program. In which we believe.... Even owning a patch of land somewhere is a weird thing.
But smart? is a soccer player smart? Or an Actor? or a singer? or a writer. Being rich is mostly an item of luck. even the best should agree that. Some did breakthroughs. Some did some smart things after they got rich.
But rich people generally have better chances and less need of plain luck. and more time, leverage and better contacts to look successful.
All these successful people saying they succeeded because they were stubborn and believed and never give up. All bogus. most won't make it to the top tier regardless of how much they try.
But should smart people get better resources. Yes they should. put them in better schools, let them sit together. they can drive progress.
if i read your general post, .. it sounds like he threw a lot at you for months and you didn't bite.
Later(/or sooner) he found someone else that indeed did bite. but he still feels turned down by you.
Maybe he just needs to close this part of his live off. and he hoped for a late explanation from your side. the gift to your daughter is just a try to open a conversation. but indeed a weird one. Probably it makes sense in his mind, i wouldn't see much trickery in it.
The sooner part. as it sounds like you weren't together it doesn't really matters? It also doesn't sound like you are jealous.
I can't answer the narcist or controlling side. it just seems clear he wanted to get married soon. maybe that is his goal in life. you didn't want that or to move, so i don't see why you are hurt. maybe just a bit bothered.
As I can see the weird stuff some Christians can make up. In Christianity there so many splinter groups all proclaiming their truth. Some are very good people ,some are bad. But the stuff they make up. People flying into the sky and such. Muslims also have some weird stories but I don't hear them chatting about the ongoing war between devils and angels on this planet today.
There are really Christians believing their are monsters under their bed and aliens on the moon.
The flying spaghetti monster didn't come from nowhere .
Maybe hospitals should focus on the medical side and get them out quickly. Taking time to check your preferences seems like a waste. A good liver is not something you gain at life or earn , it is either there or not. You do can destroy it but also there is a social or genetic aspect.
How about no monarchy. Give them the currents highest pension plus 1 euro. Each and every one. So much money spared and gained. Imagine the income from Buckingham palace and not the maintenance losses.
