Well, I like to go with a 3 month rule of thumb. No date is labled anything other than a date for a minimum of three months. The reason is because any person, male or female, can pretend to be something they are not. Most of us on this site do that to some extent. It is natural to display your best qualities, and try to surpress the rest. Even the best charade will generally fall apart within 3-4 months. That is why this time is a probation period if you will. A "getting to know you" time. This time should probably be extended for internet dating, because actual together time is usually further limited by distance, thereby giving any charade a better chance of survival.
