RE: GLOBAL BAN ... - from (South) Africa - No contacting of people possible ...

Maybe it's just those members who have blocked SA, this is the message shown in "Edit Email" section.
"NOTE: The following areas are blocked from using ConnectingSingles due to the high prevalence of scam/fraud:
Africa (except South Africa), Russia, Philippines, Romania, Lebanon, Israel, Malaysia.

I have received messages from SA with no problems, both here in China and in Europe.
Try asking a member to make sure his mail is open to receiving messages and then send one to them, this will prove your point.

RE: This is for the men. On a first date, Men what would you notice more?

Men are visual animals by nature, we don't actually look at any specific part at first, but take in the WHOLE person, then start to evaluate the result.
After that we usually start with eyes and work downwards laugh

Women often get annoyed with their partner because he has failed to notice her new hair or new clothes, but in reality the man just sees her as something of beauty, no individual thing jumps out, it is the whole picture that makes him attracted to her, no offence is meant by this, just the way a mans brain works, I think

RE: What is a 'spiritual person'?

Ohh blushing I thought it meant someone who likes Gin, Whiskey, Vodka etc doh

RE: I am soooo hot!!!

here in China it was 75 degrees at 8am, with a high of around 85 at 2pm, glorious sunny day, but the nights are very hot at around 70 and humid, have been told this will last till September, with heavy rain during July, although the temp remains the same or hotter!!

RE: MEN ON THIS SITE! UGH!

I've known some soft, sweet and gentle ladies that can snore louder than a Lancashire Brass band on practise nightlaugh

Help needed, seeking very experienced teacher

Many many thanks to all those who responded, both here on the thread and Privately.

The problem is now solved, the student in question has now decided to remain here and complete her studies, she has come to terms with her desire to run away and now wants to graduate with the best marks she can get.

For a while she was very confused, but with some helpful advice from CS she is now a very happy bunny.

Thanks again

RE: i need some advice

My advice would be: Internet dating is no different to real life dating, both have good and bad people, in both areas you need to ask the right questions, follow your inner instincts.
Cheats are, by their very nature, hard to discover, until to late. blues

RE: Greece is trashing the economy of the whole world

Well think yourself lucky, in the UK retirement is 67 for men, and most times they need to carry on till 70.
I don't classify Greece as unsuccessful, I do however, agree with the majority of Greeks who have condemned their government for being a major cause to their financial downfall.
The reason Greeks want to retire at 55 is more due to their climate rather than not wanting to work, they have extreme heat in summer, those over 55 have a hard time coping, plus they have not spent 30 years working 9 to 5 but 7 to 9.
If you read the Greek papers you will see they are not blaming other countries but rather the way their government has allowed foreign investment to drag Greece down, together with Germany creating a huge stumbling block regarding the rescue plan but the European Community.

RE: Greece is trashing the economy of the whole world

If you don't know that is hardly Greece's fault but rather your own ignorance.
How about George Papanicolaou the inventor of the pap smear for cancer detection in women, a diagnostic test that has saved millions of lives.
Just because a country relies on tourism does not mean they are underdeveloped, and Olives together with Olive oil is huge multimillion dollar business, Have you been to Greece? I have, and not noticed lazy locals, but rather the opposite, people working hard in the fields and I would suggest that the Greeks are famous for their hospitality to foreign guests, working every hour available in hotels etc just to please the tourists, and for a very low wage.
I don't recall hearing anyone working in Sweden who does NOT get holiday pay, I know for a fact that the people who work at Saab get (or got if it has changed) holiday pay. So what is wrong with the Greek people getting the same, most European countries do this.

RE: LOVE? It's a myth.

I believe you just like to play "Devils advocate" stir things up a littlescold
Of course love exists, as does lust, but it is those who place lust as more important who end up loosing the love. Maybe you are that kind of person. I know many who are, but I also know many more who realise that Love, true love, can and does last a lifetime, my parents have been married over 65 years, they show and feel love for each other, even though life is now not so easy for them.
Such negativity that you post is not attractive, certainly not to me anyway and I would imagine I am not alone in thinking this, being and having a positive outlook on life is something most people find very attractive, Attraction + Affection = LOVE.

RE: Greece is trashing the economy of the whole world

What utter rubbish, at the time you're discussing, every country that had any form of financial system was in exactly the same position, it was still in it's infancy. There was no stable currency, plus much of the financial screwups were created by the invading Christians, the Knights Templar started the first banking system, based on what they had learnt from the Greeks.
The Greeks together with the Romans gave the rest of the world, especially Europe, the strong foundation that enabled us to grow and move forward, you should read YOUR history.
Now we have a chance to repay our debt to this ancient and once powerful country. But the Germans, due to their greed and love of money have been a major stumbling block for the Greek people.

RE: Greece is trashing the economy of the whole world

Do you understand why these people are rebelling?
Sometimes the people need to react against a bad government, The Greeks have had enough of their corrupt government especially as they are now the ones who are being forced to pay even more to bail out the rich cats who stole from them in the first place.
To be honest, if I was there I would demonstrate with them

RE: Government

No government can be as bad as the last one in the uk,they managed to go from a booming and wealthy economy to creating the largest debt in our countries history, they mismanaged completely, lied and deceived us, and sold us out to Europe without any chance of the people having a say in what happened, even though they promised we would give us the chance to make that decision by referendum .
Now the UK has highest unemployment, a social service out of control, health service in ruins and almost the entire manufacturing base destroyed.
So lets hope the new leader(s) can pull us back into a strong and independent country again, and put the "great" back where it belongs, as in "Great Britain".

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

Sorry typodoh

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

Actually the "Brits" never "Civilised" the world, much of the world grew by their own endeavours, or were helped by other nations such as Greece, Egypt, France, Spain, Portugal etc. Some countries such as India and China were help back by the British and would now be far less dependent on the west had the British not invaded their lands.
Yet again your lack of history and general knowledge is letting you down, instead of wasting time on CS why don't you go to a local library and read? then come back with real facts, that way you will gain respect and maybe even produce a good argument.professor

RE: CS and Loading

I reset my router, this way it picks up a new IP address which can make a difference, now it is much faster

RE: CS and Loading

It's not a virus, you can be sure of that, virus's don't work that way!!
The most likely cause, and yes it is also happening for me, is that the service provider for CS is running slow due to usage, these servers have a specific bandwidth they can use for ALL their customers, if 2 or 3 start getting thousands of hits then the rest suffer as the bandwidth is reduced to cope with all the extra activity.

I can just imaging you, ball tucked under your arm, charging down the left side, pushing the defenders to one side, leaping forward to score a try and standing up covered in mud, clothes half ripped off, sorry, I have a vivid imaginationwine

RE: If someone was taken from you by unfairly and everyday you see reminder of it would hold a grudge

Can I just give you some advice, like all advice you can take or leave it.

Go and read about English history, the real history not comic stuff, then go to various cities in England and take a real look at those communities, you will then realise that the majority of "Invaders" not only are as British as you and I, but have successfully amalgamated with the local population, only a very small minority have created the problems you have highlighted.
When you understand all the above, then you can use your energy to ensure those minority get proper education, that they learn to live with others and respect their fellows countryman’s cultures and beliefs.
Most English people agree with you that it is wrong that so many lazy people get huge handouts from the social services, where our thoughts differ is that we can see these people come from everywhere, not just India, Pakistan, Africa, Poland etc etc etc, some of the worst spongers on our society can trace their English roots back a lot further than you.
In conclusion, my point is, rather than castigate and spread malicious unfounded rumours, use your time to learn how to help and educate those who are ignorant, teach respect and compassion, then everyone can live in harmony and peace, side by side without regard to race, colour or creed.

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

You missed my point, YOU are listening to incompetent views and then posting those views here.
The FACT remains that You and I and millions of others owe their very existence to the families of those foreigners, they have as much right to live in England as anyone else.

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

sadly you don't follow your own advice

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa and proud of it, I work in China because I am an English teacher specialising in teaching English to non English speaking students, China is developing very fast and needs help in teaching their young students English, so they can compete in a world dominated by the English language.

A full and honest answer as requested.

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

You had your chance to vote last week, strange you're not in power, wonder why that is confused Oh yes, because you're ignorant and foolish and follow a dangerous and hateful path doh fortunately most Britons can see the real truth, one day you will too.

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

Oh and maybe the Thread poster would like to visit this temple and give thanks to all the Asian Indians who gave their lives saving his family and England as a whole in WW2

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

Far from being ludicrous,

The Mandir was awarded the ‘UK Pride of Place’ award in December 2007 by Government authorities after a nationwide online poll. After weeks of voting, the Mandir registered the largest number of votes across the country as well as in London, with an overwhelming 81% of votes from the London Borough of Brent.

Seven wonders of London

Time Out, the highly respected international city-guide publishers, declared the Mandir as one of the "Seven Wonders of London". In an "epic series... to pay tribute to... the capital’s seven most iconic buildings and landmarks", they embarked upon an ambitious search of London’s best. The Mandir featured among the choice seven.

Guinness World Records

In 2000, Guinness World Records presented two certificates to recognise the world record of offering 1,247 vegetarian dishes during the Annakut Festival held at the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London on 27 October 2000, and secondly to recognise the largest traditionally built Hindu temple outside India.

The Eventful 20th Century – 70 Wonders of the Modern World

This prestigious Reader’s Digest publication (1998) prominently features the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London, lauding its scale, intricate detail and the extraordinary story of how it was built and inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England

In the 1997/8 Annual Report of the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, the Mandir is featured, and is referred to as a "modern building of major importance in our multicultural society."

Most Enterprising Building Award

The Most Enterprising Building Award 1996 was awarded by the Royal Fine Art Commission & British Sky Broadcasting to the Swaminarayan Mandir in London on 5 June 1996.

Natural Stone Award

The Stone Federation issued a special award to the Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in 1995 as part of its Natural Stone Awards.

RE: EATING NUTELLA STRAIGHT FROM THE JAR

Sorry rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

But bet you have never had an east African banana, smaller than the normal, a little firmer and oh so sweet, as a child we used to have them chopped up with mango and paw paw for breakfast, best meal of the day.
However, I do agree to a point about bananas, the taste does seem to linger all day, but when eaten with Vegimite, its just heaven. laugh

RE: To many temples and mosque not enough churches ,or not you tell me

Have you ever visited the Hindu mosque in north London? It really is a fabulous building and inside it is truly beautiful, one day it will become a part of English heritage, yet built and paid for by those Foreigners you seem to dislike.
There are Christian churches in many countries where Christianity is not the first faith, even here in China. thumbs up

RE: EATING NUTELLA STRAIGHT FROM THE JAR

My fav is banana and Marmite (Vegemite) sandwich, sounds bad but don't knock it till you try it

RE: Dinner

Sorry typodoh

RE: Dinner

Baby bamboo shoots with tofu cooked in 5 types of soy sauce, wok fried chicken pieces with chopped cabbage, garlic and onions, wild vegetables cooked with various herbs and spices and then steamed over boiling soy sauces, fresh peas and green beans stir fried in olive oil and chilli, and an egg, potato and aubergine soup made with chicken stock.
Washed down with local white wine, a clear sprite made from rice and about 70% proof

Okay my wonderful neighbour invited round for dinner tonight laugh
