RE: Dress Etiquette on Holiday....

Just goes to show how little Shakespeare really knew, the swans in Stratford are mute and unable to make any sounds as are the rest of the majority of swans in the UK

RE: Do muslims have a right to exist?

Umm someone with an obviously open mind like ladyinwaiting cannot by definition be brainwasheddoh

RE: Russian brides

As a westerner who has spent some time in the Ukraine I have to agree with every word, In my opinion the "Civilised" west could learn a great deal from the true Russian, If I had the opportunity I would live there rather than the west European countries, but then if the borders open up to allow this so also would western influences destroy that part of the world.

Thank you C YOU MADE MY NIGHTrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Decriminalising ALL illegal drugs does work (seemingly)

As I understand it, you cannot be convicted of a criminal offence for processing a small quantity for personnel use, however, the selling of drugs is still illegal.

Thats just how I interpret the law, I may well be wrong

RE: Do muslims have a right to exist?

Yet another inane thread with no real purpose other than to stir up more extremist hate and venom
Why?? I just wonder what is in the minds of those that start these kinds of threads
Is the OP just attention seeking? or has a fear of Muslims? or just plain stupiddoh

RE: Advice, please...and I'm listening

I am beginning to wish YOU didn't exist

RE: women's bad habits

The worst is the tiding up and not knowing where they put things,

You know what I mean guys, On Sunday evening you spend hours making a schedule and place it on top of the dresser so you remember to take it with you in the morning, next day in the office you realise you have not got it, crying when you get home you go to the dresser, nothing there, you ask, politely, where is the paperwork that was on the dresser, the reply, oh I tided that away last nightfrustrated Okay, you say, where is it now?
That’s when you get "THE LOOK"doh

RE: My biggest fear

I also have am innate fear of dentist's due I think to a childhood misadventure and the extraction of what turned out to be a very healthy tooth

I gain some solace when I vomit all over his hand after being ignored when I ask for a pause and to rinse my mouth: laugh:

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

The US was not the only country to suffer death and destruction from terrorists, which is probably why your view on the burqu is so far removed from those who lived in countries attacked by these cowards.

I was not aware this was a win or lose situationbarf

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

Voyager, there will always be those who become religious zealots, who will twist their faiths to allow death and destruction, what is needed is a strong leadership, people with positions of power within those religions who will speak out loudly against these extremists, when this happens the rest of us can look forward to a more peaceful existence.

RE: follow the leader

A kiss is all it would takeblushing

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

Can I ask, Do you read other posts? the nuns habit does not cover the face, that is the whole point to this discussion, the proposed ban is with regards to the security of not being able to see the whole facefrustrated

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

It was what you did with your peg leg that frightens mewow

I guess you would have to see Bod to understand my fearsrolling on the floor laughing

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

As you commented earlier, the thread is about a supposed ban of the Burqa in France, America’ stance on religion is not really a valid point, you were the one who made out that nothing is banned in Muslim countries, I just tried to point out that was incorrect.
I live in Italy, a predominantly catholic country, I am NOT a catholic, but I would not presume to force my religious beliefs on others as I walk down a street, I do however wear an item that is recognised as a religious symbol, but it in no-way jumps out at those passing me by, you would need to look quite hard to find it in fact, but those who share my religion would spot it immediately from across the street.

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

I would feel very intimidated if I saw you walking naked down my high streetwink

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

I am sorry but banning is banning, either something is allowed or its not, the point being that, in your words" Religious expression is banned" whether in a school or not is not really relevant, the fact remains that the government imposes its regulation on religions and therefore is dictating how people go about their religious beliefs.

I am not "twisting" your words, I am presenting an augment based on your written posts, and just pointing out that in fact you were indeed banned for something when in a Muslim country.

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

Yes you were, you stated quite clearly that you would not be allowed to wear a cross when entering a educational establismentfrustrated

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

Are not "Hoodies" banned in certain English city centres?

Motorcycle helmets banned in banks

Are you not arrested for indecent exposure if found walking naked down the average English High street??

Turning a blind eye to some laws and not others can be just as wrong

RE: Sarkozy bans burqa wearing.

I have read all your posts, I have read the entire thread, I always do when posting!!

You are missing the point, If Turkey can indeed request that women uncover their heads then surely that in itself shows that this garment is not so much a religious one as a cultural one, therefore it would be right to follow the social and cultural wishes of the country in which you reside, if you disagree with that social structure then maybe it would be sensible to move to a country that held closer cultural identity with yours.
No one is suggesting that the women should not follow their religion or hide their particular religion, just maybe moderate some part of the cultural tones when not actually in their place of worship.
I strongly disagreed with the economical and political culture of the UK, so I left to live in another country, yet I am British citizen. I knew I could not change the laws so now live where those particular laws no longer affect me.

RE: say what you really feel!

I wonder if I am in the wrong country??????????????
