RE: see ya

We could go as a couple of ghosts, dancing in and out of all the flags during the opening ceremony, we could scare the cr%p out of those teams we don't like so that just China and the UK win all the medals.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing grin

RE: see ya

Hey what a little tilt on the scales of life between friendslaugh
Have a great day (Night?)handshake

RE: see ya

Thats because it is still not finished, maybe in time for the 3030 Olympicslaugh laugh

RE: see ya

You have written some interesting and enjoyable posts in the short time you have been here, it is just that maybe they have been in threads where an actual debate has not occurred and so a response directly to you may not happen.

I have just re-read your posts and you come across as a nice balanced person, why not give a bit more time to CS, can it hurt? as the saying goes, Rome was not built in a daygrin

RE: Serious Question....

Gnomes are the kind of forefather to the Hobbits, they live in Gardens and can often be found fishing in your pond if you have one, Oh and they like mushroomsgrin

RE: any sugesstions on how to strt a new cult?

Would they happen to be in an attic?rolling on the floor laughing

RE: any sugesstions on how to strt a new cult?

Yep but thats the wisdom of age and experience talking, sometimes the young need to make their own mistakes, they learn better that waylaugh

RE: Teaching our children

You're not the first to suggest I should see a therapist and I doubt the last.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

When all is said and done what’s normal to one person is insane to the next.

All that is important to me is that my children are happy, loved and reasonably well balanced.professor grin

RE: Teaching our children

Surely that is what makes each of us an individual, plus we have the ability to make choices, we can either buy a car or steal one, just because our family was dysfunctional does not mean I will become a thief and child abuser, I have also learnt what is right and wrong, and taught the same to my children, but I also allow them to make their own mistakes to they too can better learn from them.
If every child was emotionally and psychologically harmed as you say we would have nothing but institutes bursting at the doors, look around, it is a tiny minority that go off the rails.

RE: Blogs-do you do them/read them

I have problems read 4 lines on a post, major heart attack if I had to read a whole pagelaugh

RE: Teaching our children

Of course, and that is how we as a civilised race keep going, we learn from our past and try to improve on it.cheers

RE: Teaching our children

I did not accuse, read the post, I voiced an opinion based on the way he wrote his post, It sounded like a sales pitchrolling on the floor laughing

RE: Teaching our children

The whole point of a forum is to show your opinion, that you dislike mine does not me right or wrong, I have not made accusations, merely voiced my opinion based on what I have read.
Just because I see a different view does not mean you have to accuse me of "Taking over the thread" Just try to be more flexible, you have your view I have mine, the difference is that I say mine is an opinion whereas you come across as being absolutely correct and all others are wrong. IN MY OPINION

RE: does getting.....

No pain no gain, I thonk we have to take risks in life, if we find the right person then all that worry will dissappear.

RE: i thought

If you are serious then, peeing gall stones could be a reason although that is usually like peeing grit and is painfulbluesother wise I would suggest seeing a Dr, best to get checked sooner than later.

RE: i thought

wow did it hurt?

RE: Driving test every 10th year for each and everyone?

My father is 92 and still drives as well now as he did 60 years ago, his biggest grip is finding a company to insure him, most stop at 85 laugh

RE: Teaching our children

I totally agree, all my children are very different and of course we made mistakes, but part of the result of those mistakes is learning something new about your child and the way they respond to certain issues etc, no book can do that, we as the human race have brought up our young for a fair few thousand years so we must be doing something right.

The problem now is the "Do gooders" who see a way to making a fast buck by deriding those in a less than perfect environment.

I doubt Mother Theresa’s childhood was perfect but she turned out okay
laugh

RE: Teaching our children

Are we about to find you're plugging a book or touting for business?
It all smells too much like a well learnt sales pitch to me.
Morgan has it right, let parents bring up their own children their own way without the constant barrage of put downs by pseudo psychologists.

RE: Amazes Me

Yes I agree, real friends would have exchanged emails and keep in touch behind the scenes so to speak, certainly for myself when I get to the situation of leaving CS, I will make sure that those who I have build up a connection and friendship will defiantly have other means to contact me and stay in touch.

RE: A females view....

Because it goes against all logic with regards to women and shopping, you go to the first shop try on 10 items then spend 3 hours doing the same in every other store and then return to the first one and buy the same first dress you tried onrolling on the floor laughing

Men tend to go to one shop, buy the first item that looks ok and back home to watch the TV

Unless of course its a car then we need to test drive, compare with every other car and then debate with our mates the pros and cons, sure we ask our ladies opinion but when they just say "Any car as long as it's pink" we tend to just smile say yes dear and go our own wayrolling on the floor laughing

RE: Serious Question....

Best of both worlds here in Tuscany, beautiful blue sky hot and sunny with the green mountains behind me and the sea in front, Where I Live now it is not dissimilar to Scotland scenery wise but with the climate of Spaingrin

Mind you the wind and rain are due at any timelaugh

RE: Serious Question....

I think that sometimes this site can become as addictive as a drug, it seems to take over your real life to the extent that it appears that some could not survive without their daily/weekly fix.

I can understand those who live alone, who find the friendship a tonic in an otherwise less than perfect world, but I cannot understand how, when a relationship has started, they still find the need to contribute to CS, I know we are all different and it’s horses for courses.

But I do know that if my new partner was spending so much time on a computer I would be wondering what I had done, for her to lose interest in me and find the flicker of a screen more appealing.

RE: Serious Question....

If I had a companion the last place you would find me was on CS

RE: He quit talking to me

This is the best post ever written on CS, It should be made the headline on page 1 and it should be compulsory for every prospective new member to read and sign they understood before allowed loose on the site.

Absolutely brilliant

RE: Existence of God v Science

Interesting quotation from the great Writer. Thank you

Always struck me as odd that at the start of all the greatest battles there was a sermon given and the blessing from God sought,

BY BOTH SIDES FROM THE SAME GODdoh

What did he do? Flip a roman to see which side would win?

RE: Existence of God v Science

Blimey and all this time I was under the impression that it was some chappie named Jesus who got put on the cross.

And you think this was the worse tragedy in our entire history, lets just wind that back a min, what about the others that were crucified with him, oh they are not important okay.

So for you one guy who prances around saying he is the son of God is more important than the tens of thousands of people who have died over 2000 years in horrendous circumstances.

That in itself shows that your god is not one worthy of blind faith.
