RE: Has life dealt you a bad card?

Has life dealt me a bad hand?

Well let me see
In 2008 :-
My wife had an affair. I caught her in the act.
I lost my job due to the economy
I lost my home car and my young daughter as the result of the divorce.
Became financially destitute due to no work, age had a great bearing on that and divorce settlement
I now live in a camper van halfway up a mountain and work at any job, gardening, cleaning cars etc between teaching English in order to feed myself and send money back to the UK for my daughter.
My chances of finding a new companion are at best slim, until I have sorted out my life and become solvent and housed properly.

Bad hand of cards ? or maybe just what happens in life,

my motto

There are always some worse off than me.

RE: How Much Do you Know

No country is really isolated, the world is getting smaller by the week.

Australia and America are to an extent new countries, so there internal history is still quite young, being brought up in that environment would not give the same sense of history that others, especially Europeans have, however, in my travels around the world, I have met far more Aussie and Kiwi people than any other, they all seem to have a keen interest in new countries and take on board their cultures, on the other hand, when you do meet US people in foreign lands they are not quite as well informed, seem to think they can see the whole of the Med id 7 days and then go home to say been there done that, not all are like this but from my experience the larger proportion.
Example, the other day when in Pisa I helped an American couple buy their lunch, in the conversation that followed they were “Doing” Europe, 20 days to see Ireland, England, France Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece, when I pointed out they were missing some other wonderful countries such as Portugal, Yugoslavia/Slavonia, Luxemburg, etc etc, let alone the Eastern Europe one, I was told that these countries are not thought of as important back home in the good US of A.

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirtdoh

RE: How Much Do you Know

Its an Americanism not original English when used to refer to a foreigner, dates from 1798, it has now been taken by most English speaking counties to denote someone who comes from outside the host country.

RE: i bet none of you can perform magic read minds tell the future or have any special gifts or powers

RE: Dilemma of a married person?

Just looking from the other perspective, does that mean than any woman seeing you would immediately drop her pants and straddle you, I don't think sodoh

Gods gift hey, hells bells you have to laugh

RE: i bet none of you can perform magic read minds tell the future or have any special gifts or powers

That is one hell of a responsibility you have there, maybe you should do some research and use Google, there is a vast history and connection between what you have described and the Celtic people.

RE: scare or tattoo

When not just make sure you date a guy with the same name as your ex's

Simples !!

RE: marrage

No

That he has never seen her is beyond weird, how can anyone propose marriage without even seeing a picture of their intended.

And it is strange about his work and not getting time off, what does he do? that stops him from having a break for 6 months.

Next he will be asking for help towards the airfare oh and maybe a visadoh

RE: hey

WHAT!!!

Thats plain crazy, if you’re in a relationship then it has to be based on honesty and trust, how is a partner going to feel if you keep your family away from him, it shows a complete lack of trust and respect, there is no way you would get a relationship to last two years if that is how you treat a prospective partner.

When you enter a relationship I can understand being this way, but after a couple of months you either want the relationship to go further or not, in which case you introduce your kids, depending on their age you would meet as somewhere they find enjoyable and are relaxed. That way there is no pressure.

RE: ronaldo

Is he worth 80 million, hell no

Maybe the man/woman who finds a cure to cancer

OR

Setting up proper housing and food supplies to the needy in Africa

But for kicking a bloody ball around for less than 2 hours, it’s a farce and those who contribute to it are fools IMO.

All footballers should be paid £25,000 per year, with a bonus for each goal their team scores and another if they win the game.

I can see why F1 drivers get high wages, they actually risk their lives for their sport, but even those are way out of line with todays economy, we all need to revalue ourselves and be honest about how much we earn.

RE: uh wtf

Does that mean if I move to a third world country you will marry me.

Hmm worth giving some serious thoughtgiggle bouquet

RE: uh wtf

Thank god I'm 5000 miles away, I can leave it to someone closer to have your pantslaugh

RE: Beach Towels

Next time you're in Italy, order a “doppio espresso supplementare di acqua calda con latte freddo”, basically it's a strong coffee with extra hot water and a splash of cold milk, but it is somewhat closer to a decent sized cup of coffee, I also found it hard to justify the tiny coffee that just about dirties the cup, now my local bar makes the above as soon as I walk in, I got them to write it down for me so I could get the same at other barsinnocent

RE: IS IT POSSIBLE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE YOU'VE NOT MET YET?

But all that does is increase your liking of the person, your affection and attraction, it does not mean you will fall in love, maybe you can love them is a certain way, but not be "IN LOVE" and thats the difference.

RE: Am I alone in my beliefs that age is something more than just a number?

Ah well now, you see I have 4 children ranging from 27 to 4, so I get the chance to see them grow and to see grandkids when/if they arrivegrin

RE: IS IT POSSIBLE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE YOU'VE NOT MET YET?

The problem we have when internet dating is that we can very easily create an image of the other person that in reality is nothing like them, I had a great internet liaison, we really hit it off, emails flashing back and forth, phone calls etc, I though “She’s the one” and she felt the same, we met and all seemed fine, until our second meeting when cracks appeared, the false image I had created was now showing through, sadly we decided that we would just remain friends. So for me I think you can find great affection and attraction via the web, but the proof is only there once you have met and really had a chance to find out about each other in real life situations.

RE: Personal Computers not Personal Anymore?

No, it's just that some people take delight in scare mongering, however, there is a case that mobile calls and radio comms are monitored, I used to work for a government agency that did that many many years ago, we were taught to listen for certain words and then record the conversations to play back at a later date, trouble was that in those days it was damn near impossible to trace a call if it did seem suspicious, mobile calls can and are monitored, but as we have already found out, by the time they realise what the conversation was about it’s already to late.

RE: Am I alone in my beliefs that age is something more than just a number?
