Would women make good spies

People watching is a truly great passtime, in my hippie days in Ibiza we used to sit in front of a cafebar in the town square and make up scenarios about the tourists that walked by. Eloping lovers, 007 spies, adulterers etc etc.

Oh heady days lol

RE: I see this alot

Sometimes the controlling comes from outside a relationship.

A jealous relation of my ex wife spent 9 months planting seeds of doubt in her mind, he was very clever, put out thoughts that when twisted made her believe they were her own thoughts. Two years later after our separation she is just beginning to realise that she was used and manipulated.

RE: Just received the news this morning............I can not do it............

My mother has given blood since the war, three times a year and was horrified when she was turned away when she hit 70, she kept asking what was now wrong with her blood that had been good enough for the last 45 odd years.

She never did get a satisfactory answerlaugh

Would women make good spies

So I was at a bar the other night, for a meal as I was feeling to lazy to cook, and was tucking into my Steak, so rare I had to hold it down with the fork to stop it from walking cross the table, with a greeny mouldy growth that here in England they call a side salad. Boy do I miss those salads you get in the US, when I was in Austin, TX, there was a steak bar where the salad was an entire three course meal in itself.

Anyway, in walked two stunning women, mid thirties maybe early forties hard to judge, dressed to kill at 1000 paces and they knew it, not even bothering to look around they just knew that they had created an impact as soon as they entered.

They sat down at a table with glasses of wine and chatted amiably, and a few moments later two guys walked in and immediately walked over to them, both were tall, blond and even to me good looking, brothers by the look of it.

They greeted the girls with handshakes all round and sat down, now this is where it gets interesting, because I could see both the girls faces, one directly in front of me, we can call her Tracey, the other, lets call her Cherie, in the mirror behind..

When your eating alone its fun to people watch, yes you can read a paper or book but what is happening around you is so much more entertaining. When your in a restaurant, look around, its amazing what takes place, lovers, families, business men/women, blind dates it all happens right there in front of you and is such fun to watch.

So, I watched, and there it was, tiny, but definitely there, a secret look that was only to be seen between the ladies, looks that were passed between them, Tracey was saying “what do you think” Cherie replies “ Yep these will do” then as their meal progressed, they were eating a Mexican concoction which looked awful but smelt really quite nice, Cherie, the mirror one, looked at Tracey, and immediately Tracey got up and invited Cherie to accompany her to the washroom.

Now this is the time the guys started to talk, loads of hand movements etc, it was extremely funny to me, all the gestures, the hand shaking and laughs, when the girls returned, normality between the guys reigned supreme again.

Now the ladies were different, anew persona if you like, had come over them, leaning forward more to the guy opposite, more eye contact, brushing hair away from their face, it was obvious to me that they had also had a discussion and had decided to pull these lucky chaps. And it was just as obvious to me, that this was their decision, the guys had no say in the matter.

But, and this is the part where I was speechless, there was this look from one of the girls to the other that I interpreted as “Okay I am ready to leave now” Tracey obviously agreed. Then Tracey looked up and smiled at me, she just knew that I had been watching, there was a look on her face that said “ I know exactly what you are doing and thinking,” and it was at that point that I realised that an entire conversation had just gone on between them and then me, without words, using a mobile, sign language or any other discernible communication devise.

What a gift, can you read minds?

RE: Is divine intervention like believing in GOD?

Are your reading from the same thread?

Barren, in my view has twisted nothing, but has written what he feels and thinks.

You and I may or may not agree with his point of view, but that should not detract away from the way he forms and writes his posts.

RE: Do you think you will ever find true love on here?

You too Barren

I am so very happy for you, all three Highwaymen are to have the most scrumptious and joyous of Yule tide.

Life can throw us to the ground, but also provide a soft mattress to land on

RE: Is divine intervention like believing in GOD?

I am sorry but I think your conception of a God and mine are at opposing ends of the playing field

ancient man may have created a water god, but that was to say thank you for providing a life giving substance, not because they failed to understand it. Is it wrong to give thanks for life giving foods etc.

As for God not giving Love, so where does that come from, I believe that to give love to someone comes from deep within ourselves. A place that could be called our soul, and therefore can be our particular God.

I am not knocking your knowledge on religious matters Trish, and I do know that you have studied that area in huge detail, far far more than myself , but I can still have a point of view.

RE: Is divine intervention like believing in GOD?

No it is not.

How can that be a fact, the native Indians of America had many gods some they did worship but others were just a God who was there to show a pathway.

One can have an inner God, something that you as an individual can believe in as a support.

There is only one thing in this life that you can have total and utter belief in and thats yourself.

Your premise is that the God spoken of in the Bible and other books is the only one, I just don't agree with that, I really believe that we all as individuals each have our own God.

You don't believe there is a God, thats fine, but it is a belief, therefore you believe in something, why cannot that be your God, God is a word Trish, does not have to be a man with a beard and a big smile.

RE: do we have any say

Welcome to the world of being a "non father", all you can do is keep smiling and keep the contact with your daughter, when she is older, she will still be Daddies Girl.handshake

RE: What would you do if...

Why the aggression??????????????

All I did was make a genuine statement, was not trying to pick on you or make a point about you or trying to make something out of nothing.

You say your not confrontational, then what was that all about FFS.

RE: '' I believe that people should put forth an effort to look nice on a profile''

Nar, you look just fine to me, a bit blurry, but that may be cause I need glasses and can't be arsed to go downstairs for them.

Besides, as 99% of women keep saying, its whats on the inside not the outside thats important, and if I was a women...............

No lets not go there...... here have a ciderbeer

RE: The perfect relationship just doesn't exist.

Good point Phoenix, my parents will celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary on Christmas eve this year,

their relationship has had many ups and downs, but, I can guarantee that if asked, they would say it was perfect for them.

I truly think the OP has been coloured by his experience, and that you cannot paint all relationships with the same brush.

I am embarking on my 4th serious relationship, I genuinely think that my lady is the perfect one for me, she is not perfect and neither am I, but we intend to build as close a perfect relationship as humanly possible.

RE: '' I believe that people should put forth an effort to look nice on a profile''

Sorry its late typos can occur

RE: '' I believe that people should put forth an effort to look nice on a profile''

I question how you can tell from a 1 inch picture how clean a person is, and one wonders just how long did it took to personally view the thousands of 40 plus men on this site, you must have incredible stamina.

You make a sweeping judgement on most men, and then speak for all women saying they take pride in cleanliness and their looks.doh

RE: The perfect relationship just doesn't exist.

You have incorrectly titled your thread IMO, It should be "There are no perfect people"

A relationship is how those in it, make it, perfect or imperfect

A marriage never fails, its the people within the marriage that fail

RE: Christmas Party Announcement

Brilliant Indy

My first wife was the HR for a very large transport company,

a women employee slipped on the stairs, and suffered a dislocated knee, which was reset by the local hospital.

She had 6 weeks off on full pay, the actual damage was slight and normal recovery would be at the most 2 weeks,

she sued the company, my Ex had to attend the court proceedings, in which they lost,

a vast sum of money being paid to the so called injured women.

The reason for the payment

There were no signs on the stairwell, stating that users of the stairs should use the hand rail provided.

RE: Letter to Eric Gutkind (partial)

Maybe not, but one that praises religion would get my back up.

But, debating the pro's and con's of God as opposed to religion are worthless as it is by its very nature unprovable either way.

Whereas religion, thats a different ball game

RE: How to better educate your kids

Routinely unpredictable laugh

RE: Letter to Eric Gutkind (partial)

Just wanted to help

RE: How to better educate your kids

I have always believed in routine, all 4 of my children have had a routine from the time they were brought home from the hospital, with the exception of my youngest son, who's mother, unfortunately thought her ways were better, I was working away from home all week so had little say in his upbringing at that time.

He was the only one who at 16 still won't go to bed when asked, who hates to help around the house, who has not done as well at school as he is more than capable of doing.

Routine and discipline were how I was brought up and the same for my other children, I have never had to smack or come close to that with any of my children, when counted to three, by two they were doing what was asked, because they knew that if I reached three then they would get punished, it was not an idle threat.

My three year old is better behaved now than my youngest son was at 6, I am certain its because he was the only one brought up with out the benefit of routine and was always given idle threats when naughty.

RE: Letter to Eric Gutkind (partial)

Oh I have, way too many, and they all say the same thing

that you are unable to produce ant opinion other than those made by someone else.

You accuse those who believe in God that they are believing in something false, because there is no way to prove his existence.

yet in the same breath you are just as unable to prove his non existence, but, because you have been told by your so called friends that you are right, you carry on saying all believers are wrong.

If you were to have a genuine thought process I really think it would give you a heart attack from the shock of actually thinking something not planted there by one of your books.

RE: Letter to Eric Gutkind (partial)

You need to understand him, he has no opinion himself, if its not written down it does not exist, therefore its not possible for him to have a free thought, to do so would prove that some things exist without proof.

He is controlled by cut and paste, without those tools its as if he never existed.

RE: Letter to Eric Gutkind (partial)

What are you trying to prove or comment on, by displaying that letter, If everyone just copied and pasted letters ad infinitum Cs would explode.

If you want to make a point why not just make a point.

RE: British Women

You are beneath contempt, what an appalling thing to say.

Maybe you would use your Children as pawns in an argument, but to do with an other person is despicable.

I for one will not tolerate such behaviour.

RE: The intense escape that is folding to one's own idiocy

The irony being that they fail to understand the question

RE: British Women

Check your history my friend, not all those in Britain are descended from Germany, my family for example is Mediterranean on my mothers side and Norwegian on my Fathers, proved with a DNA family ancestry test
