The reality of the world is not "black and white" and there is more shades of gray than I ever imagined. I try hard to be truthful, to hold fast to my own morals and ethics and hope that others would do the same to and for me. I can be tactful when needed and yet can be blunt when needed. I'm not perfect but I do try to be truthful when needed, although my license says I am 10 lbs lighter than I actually am....
I don't think that love can be unconditional, I think people strive for it to be so; however, if love were unconditional would there be so many divorces, unhappy people, etc.?
Just the phrase alone "unconditional love" places a burden on a relationship. I think people can love, be loved, be liked, be hated but none of it is ever unconditional. JMO
