Hi Monte! I hear you! I turn 45 in a few days and sometimes, I still look back and think to myself "where did I mess up?" but gotta stay positive and just keep looking and hoping.
I could see that happening...I tend to speak very quickly and it frustrates me when others speak slowly but I've learned to tone down and concentrate and that is mainly cause no one understands me when I start talking....
I think (sometimes~and yes, it hurts ), that we forgot how to "communicate" with others because we focus so much on what we want to hear, want to say and how we feel, that we wind up "talking at" instead of "talking with."
It does take effort to actively listen (or in this case, "read" what someone has written) and wait until the other is done "speaking" before we form an answer. IMO
Exactly how would they do that? Discounting the population of Americans who cannot vote (underage, criminals, those who have never registered to vote), how many Republicans are actually busting kneecaps and breaking wrists and shaking down voters to stop them from voting at their local election place?
It is subjective figures; that do not capture all data, provided by selected households to the Bureau of Labor. Three specific definitions: employed, unemployed and not in the labor force.
The numbers of unemployed individuals cannot be accurately counted, as once unemployment benefits are exhausted, the data is no longer counted.
So, how is the proposed jobs act supposed to adequately help?
I see what you are saying; I think the hotel should charge the credit card for "excessive damages." If the school or the so-called coach dares to question it, the hotel should respond with the damages it had to clean up.
It is one thing if kids are having fun (in a reasonable manner) but not being taught to respect public property or how to behave in public is a bad mark on the parents. And that coach should be removed from his job...
Do you think kids should be taught more responsibility, or left to run riot?
Where were these children's parents/guardians? Was it just a "coach" left with them? What is wrong with teaching children/teens accountability and responsibility for their actions?
Children learn (most times) by example, if their parents will not take accountability and responsibility for their own actions, do they think their children will learn it?
I detest parents who let little Johnny/Susie get away with "murder" because they don't want to "break their spirits." Kids can have a good time and celebrate a win but not at the cost of destroying property, and disturbing the peace of others....
I tend to agree with most of what you are saying. Education is very important, especially the basics (reading, writing and mathematics) but not everyone is destined, inclined or wants to achieve a higher education (college/university).
Young adults just getting out of high school or those in middle grades, looking to explore career options should not be told that the only way to succeed is by going to college.
There is nothing wrong with pursuing or being a "tradesman." I find it fascinating that some adults will look down on plumbers, carpenters, shipyard workers, cooks, janitors, welders, etc. as if these individuals did not have educations. We should encourage apprenticeship programs and actively offer alternatives to college.
I used to classify myself as a Republican and then over the years just started to say I was independent if anyone asked.
I find it hard to understand politicians and probably never will, as I can't see justifying their annual salaries and perks, with their political platforms.
The economy is tanked, education becomes a joke for most individuals because the resources for helping always get taken away. Those that try to help themselves find that they face brick walls and poverty is heavily on the rise....
You seem to be a tad obsessive/compulsive regarding sheep. Here have a little down on this couch and tell us all about it while I doodle on this piece of paper and occassionally nod my head and say, "tell me more," "fascinating," "no! really! I am listening."
