RE: Obama wants a fair health care coverage for all americans... why GOP attacks this honorable goal?

Actually, there is a formula that is used to determine the extended federal unemployment benefits, if a state falls below that formula, then those on extended (federal) benefits lose their unemployment. This was voted on by both parties as a measure to save federal dollars.

RE: Debtor's Prison

I can see where it can become a problem though; people move to find themselves in a better situation or they become homeless, etc; and even when putting in a change of address; could be found in contempt of court for not appearing as they did not get the letter to appear...

RE: Debtor's Prison

Guess I will have to ensure that no one can find me....thanks Tractor!

RE: Obama wants a fair health care coverage for all americans... why GOP attacks this honorable goal?

Do you honestly think that I would not post with having read, re-read the entire Health Care Bill Dude? Healthcare business administration is a field both myself and my sister have been and are involved in.

For the unemployed, who do meet federal regulations/definitions of poor, there is NO aid. Period. There are no cute little government handouts for thousands, like myself, who cannot afford to procure their own health insurance.

Here see for yourself:http://www.snap-step1.usda.gov/fns/index.jsp

That is just a fun little link, courtesy of our government, to see if an individual qualifies for food stamps. Now, enter all your information, BE HONEST...see what you qualify for.

RE: The Engagement Ring

I love beautiful jewelry myself and have bought most of my own or designed it myself. I just personally have not seen the need to own something that costs more than cheap vehicle or a years' rent or mortgage payment but as you said, if they both agree, then why not?

Enjoy this Cciny!

RE: The Engagement Ring

When my daughter got married, I think her total outlay was $75 to include paying for the license. She and her husband did not want to spend a lot of money, she made her own flower arrangements, made her own invitations and got married in my living room, (was supposed to be outside but it rainedlaugh) and she and her husband had a casual, inexpensive and yet beautiful wedding and reception.

RE: The Engagement Ring

Personally, and I know most won't agree with me, big flashy rings, overpriced gowns, lavish receptions are tacky and seem to scream "look at me!"

It makes no sense to me to spend an enormous amount of money on a ring or a wedding. Simpler to save the money for a home, a car or their retirement.

It is love that asks, that seeks, that knocks, that finds, and that is faithful to what it finds.

Love is a canvas furnished by Nature and embroidered by imagination.

Before my Soul taught me, Love was for me a delicate thread stretched between two adjacent pegs,
but now it has been transformed into a halo; its first is its last, and its last is its first.
It encompasses every being, slowly expanding to embrace all that ever will be.

RE: Obama wants a fair health care coverage for all americans... why GOP attacks this honorable goal?

Dude, have you researched the cost of procuring health insurance for an unemployed individual? I have; for myself, based on the new health care coverage, I would pay $723.00 a month to give myself health care coverage. Since I no longer receive unemployment benefits (thank you our federal government), my health care insurance is now officially on the "HOPE & PRAY PLAN."

I HOPE I never get sick and I PRAY that if I do, magic will happen and my medical bills will be paid by an anonymous philanthropist.

RE: I love You

That one I really like! There is another quote of St. Augustine's that I really like but I cannot remember it and I am still searching for it.

Love is the beauty of the soul.

Love, and do what you like.

RE: single mum!!!

I do like that interpretation: "Fear of Divine Retribution." Sad though.

RE: Why do so many men stop communicating when they are in a personal crises ?

True on both counts BUT there are times when the withdrawing makes one wonder if something truly awful has happened to the individual....bouquet

RE: single mum!!!

I wasn't referring to abortions, although that could be a valid point. I was referring to those young girls who were sent away to have their babies and then forced to give them up for adoption. Or those families where a big "gap" in children resulted, as grandma and grandpa were passing their grandchild(ren) off their own to save face within their communities.

And you might be right regarding the contributory factor of religion but somehow, I just can't get it round my head why a baby is such a bad thing religiously....
