If a man has been taught to not show their emotions and be "a man," I tend to feel a tad sorry for them. It's not shameful to show or hide emotions but there is always a time and place for displaying them.
Personally, I think the most dangerous things in the grocery stores themselves are the grocery carts. Those things cause some serious damage to ankles and toes.
Some individuals are single by choice and raise families. Some couples divorce rather than hurt their children by staying together in a toxic environment. Some men and women run away from their responsibilities. Some take what they can get and hurt/harm the child(ren).
Why not ask instead what you can do to help? Volunteer at a non-profit organization to help children, be a mentor, engage yourself in your community.
Which direction is the discussion going with this topic? America does have those who live in poverty, either below, at or slightly above the poverty line. But that is the government's decision on what the poverty level is.
I still manage to eat, have a place to live and even have internet access and I am way below the poverty level. Without government assistance, I might add....
