I completely disagree with that assessment. What an adult does with their lives after they move out of their childhood home, is on them and them only.
I did not have the greatest childhood and yet, I grew up, was responsible and raised my tribe the same way. I always knew I was loved, my children always knew they were loved (and still are).
Loving your child has nothing to do with the choices they will make in their adulthoods.
It would seem that although this is supposed to be a post regarding "a governments responsibility" it seems to have detoured into a "bad nations, no good nations" thread.
How do you, Iuchi Zen, think that we (representative we ~ a collective, perhaps) should move forward? Should it be something like the grassroots movements such as Occupy Wall Street? Should it running for office ourselves? A letter writing campaign?
I can see that there are problems with the government of the country that I live in, I will not say it is perfect but I am truly interested in what others think of what can be done or what should not be done...
It's very scary Monte. I am from Anchorage and my son, who is in the Guard, has been deployed to the Aleutians. It is a scary time right now there and I keep sending good vibes to the villagers, the personnel deployed to help them, the fisherman and others....
Gininitaly, I respect that you think I was not being serious, however, I was completely serious. Exactly what should be the responsibility of a government? Does a government need to be one that has complete control over its citizenry or does a government only need to provide health care, education, free housing? What would be the rights of the citizens? How much would the government interfere in the lives of its citizens?
How does one or many decide what a government should or should not do for its citizens? Was that not the reasons that many constitutions were written? Which country, as of now, should tweak theirs; possibly a complete rewrite?
I do not know what a government should do for its people and although I have some ideas, it does not mean that my ideas would necessarily be thought right or just for others. Can I hear some of your ideas? I am truly interested and would like to see not only yours but others also.
I am unsure exactly what a governments responsibility is and should be towards its citizens. I know that keep a link to the Constitution in my computer for reference but at this time, am still uncertain exactly what my or others governments should be doing for its people.
Yes, I know there is no law on the books...and at the moment this is just a bill that will or will not make it into the books and I don't blame you for not scrolling back....
My little "law" (and I put in quotes because I know it would be passed) made as much sense as the bill that is being promoted in MS now.
You look good for your age but then quite a few of us do. Amazing what exercise, a semi-healthy diet and a moderate dose of self-confidence can do for an individual.
*welcome back...haven't seen you post in a long while*
I love the representation of Diego and Kahlo! They were both great artists but I feel that Kahlo had much greater imagery and nuances in her work! So much pain and suffering that she displayed...beautiful! Thanks for sharing Life!
Had to highlight that part Life. Speaking for myself, I have been told numerous times that I am overqualified for some of the positions that I am applying for. I know this and yet I still apply. Why? Because I would like to be able to pay my bills, eat and occasionally take my clothes in to be altered as needed.
Why apply for positions that I am overqualified for? As much as I might be overqualified, those positions that I am perfectly qualified for will not hire me due to that other flip of the coin: they do not want to compensate me adequately for the expertise that I have. It is much cheaper to hire someone with less experience, less knowledge that will probably leave within six months to a year (and they will rehire another individual with less experience, less knowledge) because in the long run, it is cheaper.
Individuals who state that anyone looking for work should just apply for and get any job they can do not see what positions are out there. I cannot get hired at a fast-food place, a restaurant nor a retail store: I am over-qualified. I am not a para-legal, doctor, nurse or work in construction. I do not have a CDL, so I do not drive a big-rig; it goes on and on.
I apply for those positions I know that I have experience and training in that a company is looking for, even when what the position states is less than what I have trained for as long as the position is comparable to what I have experience in.
Thanks. Normally I am the happiest person in the world but even the positive energy is being sucked away by the negative. However, I will sort it all out, cause I will make it so.

Hi Cutie!
