Islam, the religion of peace and tolerance. To quote Jesus when asked how one could identify false prophets, he said: "By their fruits, you shall know them."
In general, I have to agree with your proposition. Whenever I have to make a decision it is based on what is the natural order, which is the ultimate truth. Such decisions must be unclouded by social conditioning and sentimentality. This is why social liberals hate me.
Snakes. Like Indiana Jones, I hate snakes. I live in the bush, so I have around me an abundance of deadly snakes. Australia is blessed to have eight of the 10 most dangerous snakes in the world. The worst is one called the eastern brown, which is # 2 on the list. I keep a .410 shotgun on hand for snakes have to use it a couple of times during a typical week.
Er, no. I had to visit as part of doing the rounds as a media dining and entertainment writer. Not interested in the women in nightclubs. Not even slightly.
I am somewhat surprised that there is a club scene where the author of this thread lives. Indonesia is, after all, Muslim. I thought that such places would not be allowed, except perhaps in tourist areas such as Bali. As for men who frequent nightclubs, I have observed that there are generally two types. One is sad and lonely and genuinely trying to find a girlfriend/wife, but has not as yet figured out that the women in nightclubs are not interested in genuine men and are generally after free drinks and one-night stands. The other is the sterotypical nightclub scumbag, who wants to screw as many women as possible. At least this meets up with the desires of the princesses who want only one-night stands. I went to nightclubs a few times as a punter, so I would have put myself in the first category of sad and lonely. I could never figure out how people met or hooked up, because the awful noise (the drunks call it music) is so loud that it damages the hearing permanently and makes verbal communication impossible. Then and later when I had to visit nightclubs as part of my work (almost as much fun as a visit to the zoo) I observed that the nightclub princesses rejected any decent clean-cut young man, then pissed and moaned to her friends about 'where are all the nice guys', then they would leave with one of the oily scumbags. At first I resented this, but then I realised that they deserved each other and whatever diseases they may exchange. Where and how to meet decent women who are looking for husband material has long been one of life's mysteries to me.
Pedro, go your hardest. Create as many religious threads as you want. If someone does not like the topic, they do not have to look at the thread. Simple, really.
I just read that Peter Slipper had a $450,000 legal bill, which he hoped to pay through the sale an investment property. Given that Slipper is a lawyer, sort of makes one wonder why he did not do more of the job himself. While there is the old legal saying, that 'the lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client', there is also the economic reality that it is ruinously expensive for anyone who is less than a billionaire to engage legal counsel.
I do not fear passion. I control it. Emotions must always be subordinate to logic. Only the low-IQ savages are ruled by their passions, which is why they achieve nothing of worth in the greater scheme of things.
To be, or not to be--that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep-- No more--and by a sleep to say we end The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to. 'Tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep-- To sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub, For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause. There's the respect That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, Th' oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of th' unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovered country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprise of great pitch and moment With this regard their currents turn awry And lose the name of action. -- Soft you now, The fair Ophelia! -- Nymph, in thy orisons Be all my sins remembered. - Hamlet (act 3, scene 1) by William Shakespeare
I can understand a tatto that is the result of youthful stupidity, but living in Bali? Really? I deal with people in that part of the world who tell me that police corruption makes life next to impossible for foreigners and miserable for the locals. One of these expat businessmen wrote me a four-page letter, the thrust of which was that the largest criminal organisation in Indonesia was the Indonesian police force.
Obama is not even eligible to be president, under the US Constitution. He was born outside of the USA. There is plenty of evidence of that, but it is suppressed by the US media and nobody in public life dares to mention the truth, because the 100% Jewish-owned US media will turn on them like rabid dogs. None of this really matters, though, because the candidates of both major parties are puppets of the global financial elite. You can elected candidate A, or candidate B, both of whom take their orders from the same people. Tweedle Dumb, or Tweedle Dumber. The whole process is a smoke and mirrors show intended to make the sheeple think that they actually have a say in how things are run. Just keep on paying the income tax revenue to the Jewish-owned Federal Reserve and sending trillions to Itzalie every year.
Just a wild guess, but when you were a teacher you did not teach science or philosophy, did you? If you had, you would not have stated such irrational absurdities. 1. "is clearly not true" Really? On what evidence do you base that? 2. "the existence of a code implies intelligent design." Really? On what evidence do you base that? 3. "There has to be some sort of intelligence . . . yada, yada, yada" Really? On what evidence do you base that? Apparently you are not familiar with how natural selection works, nor the latest research into how the initial spark of life came to be. Perhaps believing in an imaginary friend in the sky makes it easier for you to deal with your own limited life span and the looming oblivion of death. I have observed that the people who are the most afraid to die are those who cling to religion. I always laugh when I hear the term 'creation science'. That is the best example of an oxymoron of which I know.
Men who have been taken through a divorce court once have had an education in how misandrist family law and courts are. Having been screwed over and reduced to poverty once, only a fool would line up for a second round.
If the cancer (or any other disease) was terminal, I would make a to-do list of people without whom the world would be a better place and then set to work. What would be the worst that could happen? I might be killed, or sentenced to life in prison.
