In the last 20 years eire is the only country in the EU block that has benefited from the EU but only due to the gi normous subsidies that have been poured into it. Now the subsidies have been reduced considerably the companies that once were situated there mainly in the Cork area are pulling out to mainland Europe which will cause the Cork area sooner or later to become no longer a viable area to invest in.
