Gee, silly me. Only -30C chill factor? well, let's head for the beach, shall we? I hear it's all the go in Russia, taking a dive in such crisp, cool conditions? Anyone here partake?
Here, my mother starts to complain when it's 18C during the day! Coldest it gets where I am is maybe 2C overnight, in our worst of winters. During the day, coldest would be about 11C. Spring, going into summer now. Mild to very warm until March/April next year.
Yes, not dwelling on it, and instead focussing on things more uplifting can only help.
These days, much of what I do relates to living my life as if perhaps tomorrow might be my last here. Fixing something that is broken. Saying something to someone that I want them to know (still a long way to go in that department).....Because one day it just might be. And I want to know I have lived my life the best way I knew how. Or at least come close to it.
We must have similar visions. I saw just such a one about three years on the internet on a real estate site. It was in France, being sold lock, stock and barrel, and with about as many bedrooms. I all but wept as it was a gorgeous old mansion, already being run as a 4-star hotel. Views were breathtaking, extensive lanscaped gardens all around, and at the time, something ridiculous such as 400-500,000 Euros. Please, I would rather not think about it.
I willed a packet of chippies (lime and cracked pepper to be precise) out of a new vending machine at a large public hospital 8 yrs ago. We ahd visited my mother in hospital and nstopped at the machine with my brother on our way out. Neither of has brought change so all I could do is stare at that packet with ALLl the intensity of any emotion possible. When suddenly, the shiny, thick metal clasp opened up in front of our very eyes, and the packet dropped to the floor of the machine.
Not knowing what the heck just happened, we stared at each other, stared at the packet , then I opened up the flap and took the packet. I thanked errr... someone...up there. My brother, a typically scetpical MBA accountant, readily recounts the story to friends, and complains I still haven't delivered on the lotto numbers!!!
So, the moral of the story is, yep, you want something badly enough. You can get it. laugh:
Just invite me to lunch at your new hotel, please!
Sounds like a great plan to me. Life on an island. Wedding in Hawaii. A some time trip to Aussie Land. Planning each meal and enjoying each day as it comes.
Ah, but I have old friends with many connections there. I was in the States in '96 and '99. Still keep in touch with them. They are looking you up as we speak!
Wow, woody, sounds like it's going to happen for sure. Can we all visit? Only a few of us at a time, of-course!
I like to do that sort of thing, too...such as place pictures of things/places etc on the 'fridge door, or hang up a smaller size dress on the mantlepiece in my bedroom so I HAVE to stare at them sometime, and jog the ol' brain!
I am planning to go Italy again, this time for much longer. So I have started exploring airfares again to find the best deal (except I need to work really hard to afford to do that! ).
(Hey Indy, and conrad, I might take a detour and come and visit you both! )
RE: Say something To...About...For...Nobody...Somebody or Everybody...Names or No Names...Required!!!!!
Don't start that againDon't you know we have "Alexander the Grape" right here in our midst!
