Hi. I don't see a place for including 'complications' in a profile. That becomes personal information that you might wish to share with someone that you are getting to knows, so it becomes a 'need to know' basis.
And why use the word 'disabled'? Particularly in this day and age, when we are encouraged to focus on what we can do, and not on what we cannot.
Sometimes we do so well in sabotaging ourselves. If not in one way, we generally find another!
monty, BTW, I will get some fluffy pink slippers, grab some jam and scones, and you can put the kettle on for a cuppa. We can then natter on using the unsweetest of Aussie 'Strine'!!!
A fabulous example of how a little objectivity from someone such as Colin Powell, can go such a long way.
He is allowing himself to think about the bigger picture, and having the needs of the nation and its people at heart, instead of using staunch adherence to political allegiance tainted by blind emotionalism.
I adore some American voices, male or female. Like every race, some accents can be so broad, thay are nont pleasant to listen to, but overall, I LOVE to listen to an american woman's voice. A have spoken to a couple of CS's on the phone, and non CS friends in the past.
There is a 'pristine' kind of clarity of speech that almost mesmerises. LOVE the voice of the actress that narrates in the series 'Desperate Housewives'. I heard a long interview with her. She has a gorgeous voice.
The 2 ladies from Kath and Kim write the episodes and are the producers. The U.S. was very interested in the concept of their show, that because of its huge success in Australia, wanted to do an American version due to the obvious language/cultural issues. So, they struck a deal. Unfortunately, I don't think it works, what they have done in the States.
I think you really need to be an Australian to appreciate it fully. Naturally some epsiodes flag a bit, but overall, it is hilarious, because the characters they portray are there in real life Aussie suburbia.
Hi. I actually caught an episode of the U.S. version this evening. Not very impressed, only a couple of slightly funny scenes. It lacked pushing the boundaries. It was kept well within very safe boundaries. Pretty lame, really. Absolutely nothing like the Australian original, which is so successful at laughing at that side of Aussie life, even making a 'kind' mockery of it.
All the best for your second date. A good sign given you have been emailing and phoning each other for so long. If he has gone to such trouble, that can only be a positive thing.
By the way, South Australia was the only State that was never a penal colony
Just returned from visiting my brother who has a new apartment on the Glenelg foreshore, Holdfast Bay, chatting the night away on the patio with balmy breezes and the sound of the waves rolling in.......
Will be going back tomorrow lunch time. Walk a few steps from the front of the building, and you're onto the sand, along which you can walk for miles. Or retreat into one of the many cafes or restaurants, all along and around the harbour front. They have done a fabulous job in creating a year round resort lifestyle. You can even get a cheap Chinese back or all over massage!
Yes, Australia has been doing pretty well lately. We actually have a surplus running into the billions, rather than a deficit.
Our dear Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd has taken leadership with both hands in this time of global economic crisis. On 14th December, all pensioners will receive eg around $2,000 per couple, maybe a bit less. and families will receive I think about $1,000 per child under 16. The purpose is for those recipients to go and SPEND, which will boost the economy immensely at such a crucial time. Fantastic Christmas present for those concerned, and for retailers!!!
Of-course it is! I am referring to the summer weather that should continue 'til around March next year, with small variation of temperature. In Adelaide, at least, lol
Here in Australia, we are enjoying great weather, though with a country so huge, each State differs somewhat from the other. Here in south Australia, weekend temps ranges 20's -30 deg during the day and around 13 deg at night. Some parts such as the coastal areas of Queensland, eg Cairns and Rockhampton, and Northern Territory, such as in Darwin, are hot and steamy
So, to take your mind off the pending wintry weather for those in the northern hemisphere....
Where I am, it is a glorious 30 deg Saturday, tomorrow in 20's, 80's music playing all weekend on the radio, getting people in the mood for sun, sea and surf, more Jimmy Barnes, Midnight Oil, cold beer, and chilled whites...and endless BBQ's. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is outdoors
Our nearest city beaches are 15 minutes from the city centre, and stretch down to the fabulous southern beaches. Don't be put off by the odd shark here and there down south. The helicopter crew will tell you when to get out and go back in!
Anyone care to join us? What will you bring, and what would you like to do?
RE: Who Here Likes Opera?
Hi, Two of my favorites are, 'Carmen' - ( love the fiery passion! ) and 'Samson and Delilah'.
