We were lucky enough to miss it here. Just a few flurries is all. Hoping we don't get it tonite, since I have another eye appt in the morning. *crosses fingers*
Toys were whatever random items we found lying around. Although the kids down the street had a community Simon, I only got to play it a few times. There was also a community Atari, but we weren't allowed inside during the day if it was nice out.
Candy was a special treat we got on Halloween and Easter. Didn't really have a favourite, but I was always partial to tootsie rolls. Someone gave me and my cousin a candy necklace once, but we had to share and she ended up eating almost the whole dang thing.
For the most part, true, but I think it depends on the area. I live in a city with a freakin HUGE Indian population, and everyone always seems very open and accepting. The small town I grew up in is a whole 'nother story. "Farners" (as it is pronounced there) aren't welcomed at all (with the exception of the Filipino doctor).
