This is Fareed Zakaria... a very bright man who I've been following on international affairs for a lot of years now... if you want a man who goes to the heart of an issue.. this is the one.
Actually those super sized portions arrived between '93-'95... before that sizes were 'normal'. Someones advertising brainchild that put the nation on cardiac alert... where is that guy now I wonder?
I respect that ... I tend to be an elephant myself, treat others as I'd like to be treated unless they of course, show themselves to be unworthy of that respect.
Kids get 3 chances starting out and then with the dawn of reason it gets whittled down to one.
Frankly I've never had an unfaithful spouse, that I know of... but there can be other reasons to jettison the ballast... and I've never been one to waste my time with empty threats.
potty mouth in 2 languages, maybe even 4 (seems it's the first things you learn for some reason and maybe even the last ) .... I don't know why ... and I certainly know better and can contain myself on occasion..... but there is something so hugely satisfying about a good cuss, that I'm afraid I'll die a sinner.
Well love is still the best rush for free on the planet... looks like some aren't afraid to pay the price of a little risk for a ride on the roller coaster.
Just wanted to thank Morgan for all your great advice!
Looks like I'll be having a busy day with viaggare in liberta' or the Italian version of tripadvisor or just batten down and wait for a tulip two pop out here. Damn money anyway, if I had plenty I'd probably be off to Indonesia or maybe Kenya .....
I noticed, looked this morning! Infact was thinking towards the end of Feb... a little drizzle never hurt anybody but would rather not deal with downpours .
I have noticed quite a few people here living in Malta... and never having been, thought it would be fun to pick your brains.
How is it there say the middle or end of February? I saw some really cheap hotel prices and yet wondered if there is enough to do if you're not on a beach all day? Will it be winter beach town sad? I looked at rainfall and temps... around 9mm and 20c on the average that time of year.. which would be fine for sightseeing.
Bad case of cabin fever, it's been a very grey drippy winter here.
Well I don't know about that other than I'll pay my share and don't automatically expect the man to pay for everything.
But if both are working, both need to help each other with the damn dishes etc.... seems fair to me. Why should only one keeping working while the others day is done?
Really? I wouldn't know about that ... maybe you can explain it?
Personally I would like all the boys and girlies happy and not fighting for top dog... seems to get in the way of a lot of good positive feelings, one on one, clear and honest, whether weak or strong whose ever day it is ... the programmed bs gone.
Actually I think the Op often poses interesting questions.
While Egypt, in the realm of womens rights is not a shining example, it certainly isn't as bad as Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh or Saudi Arabia. Still a long way to go to being a Lebanon however.
The question is always the search for a MODERATE Islamic attitude towards women, but until they consider an alternative to sharia law, it will be hard to consider them even close to western thought concerning equality for women.
Saying that, apparently there have been 20-50% of Islamic women in the city streets during this Egyptian revolution... most of them want Mubarak gone.
Hmmmm.... I'm afraid ttom500 is still buying that US propaganda... Big Daddy there just to protect the innocent and downtrodden and protect us from the commie/terrorist boogie man .... well they do say ignorance is bliss. Better off if he watched the terrorists in his own government.
"For the reasons above, our goal should be: keep going until we overthrow the regime completely. And if you're bothered by the chaos, remember that the more people protesting, the faster the regime will fall and the chaos will be over. And once the regime has fallen, we should dedicate all of our efforts to make sure we choose a proper interim government that really represents the people, and everything will go smoothly from there, and the future of Egypt will be brighter than ever before."
Sounds reasonable as hell to me... let's hope America keeps it's paws off and stops supporting Mubarak.
Hmm... being different, does mean that they shouldn't have the same pay for the same work... thus financial equality? Your allusion is that if they are not equal then that makes them inferior to men?
With a 50/50 divorce rate and the women new heads of household, making 20+% less than men and yet having for the most part the full emotional and financial support of the children and even at a financial disadvantage... ford on:
65% of divorced women do NOT receive child support, which pretty much lays to rest the sniveling that we hear men spout on these forums about how they were taken to the cleaners by their exs. ... the reality is that no, most women don't or couldn't if they even wanted to... because of dead beat dads.
So that means on average we deal with more pain, more burdens, less revenue and more responsibility... and in heels and dancing backwards and still manage somehow to survive and raise your children... and yet some men want to denigrate us as second class and inferior beings?
Still can't manage to see anything wrong with that picture?
FYI... How to Restore the American Dream
Just throwing it out there....This is Fareed Zakaria... a very bright man who I've been following on international affairs for a lot of years now... if you want a man who goes to the heart of an issue.. this is the one.
