RE: Long distance love and marriage.

cool shhhhh... roll eyes

RE: Long distance love and marriage.

Yeah I've noticed that too confused .... scared we'll come pounding on their door in the middle of the night.. and the Mrs. will find out? rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Long distance love and marriage.

conversing I would think so cool

I think I remember a couple of years ago doing a search for success rates of dating sites... there was zilch roll eyes . Well today is rainy and miserable... may just take a look out of boredom.

RE: Long distance love and marriage.

I think they can only work if:

#1. You met and knew each other in real life and so deal with the situation because there is a 'fit'.

#2. Are fine with a part time lover.

#3. Prefer fantasy over reality.

But as far as creating or thinking you have an intimate love 'relationship' online with someone you have never met... wishful thinking. Reality bites back.

Friendships CAN be formed online however... what you do to make them real in the real world is another matter. It would be fascinating to have some stats tho, just out of curiosity.

RE: Survival of the fittest

Hmmm... wouldn't take much to put us into chaos mode, considering we have given ourselves to an electronic world. Target all power plants and we're done for.

I suppose grab all the seeds I could... considering of course that you may not survive winter. So that leaves; stock piling food, water, wood for heat and cooking, if you have a place to do that... and the ever present American solution of arming yourselves against marauders.

Basically we're done for, unless you already live on a farm... but even so you wouldn't survive the onslaught of hungry, armed city folk. Then a migration south, natives defending their territory.. then more screaming, violence and death...Stalemate.

Population growth solution #1... 2/3 die within a year.

An evolutionary replay... or a second chance?

dunno

RE: Italian KILLS a romanian woman by hitting her, in Roma ...

Hmm.... there have actually been more murders of Romanians by their live-in boyfriends here than this particular situation. And this was a boy, not a man. Though I do not approve of this crowds reaction in the least... Despicable!

But on the whole, I think this particular situation was a tragic accident... neither one should have used their hands/feet for anything. Once you cross someones personal space... anything can happen.

A thought on political 'tone'

How the GOP lost Chris Curry.

Not that I think there is much difference between parties these days, but I liked this mans observations. Shouldn't we really be more about the lack of extremes for the mutual good of most, instead of polarizing a nation... which actually makes us weaker?

RE: do women like younger men?more than 5 years

Well yours isn't up there either Strict.... married then? dunno

RE: do women like younger men?more than 5 years

THAT LIVES IN US

If you put your hands on this oar with me,
they will never harm another, and they will come to find
they hold everything you want.

If you put your hands on this oar with me, they would no longer
lift anything to your
mouth that might wound your precious land –
that sacred earth that is your body.

If you put your soul against this oar with me,
the power that made the universe will enter your sinew
from a source not outside your limbs, but from a holy realm
that lives in us.

Exuberant is existence, time a husk.
When the moment cracks open, ecstasy leaps out and devours space;
love goes mad with the blessings, like my words give.

Why lay yourself on the torturer’s rack of the past and the future?
The mind that tries to shape tomorrow beyond its capacities
will find no rest.

Be kind to yourself, dear – to our innocent follies.
Forget any sounds or touch you knew that did not help you dance.
You will come to see that all evolves us.

Persia was once a watershed of civilization; astronomy, literature, sanskrit, mathematics, medicine, poetry and philosophy... most of what we know today comes also from the Persians.

I weep for their present state.

RE: The Perception of Love Is A Choice

The fundamental problem hun, is that most guys online simply aren't interested in higher states of Being. So don't get your hopes too far up there.. best opt for a real world search or at the least, some sites where there might be like spirits. comfort

RE: do women like younger men?more than 5 years

Well from having an Iranian friend, I understand the practicalities of this boys day to day life. Not ALL Iranians are in agreement with the party line... there are many educated youngsters, free thinkers and freedom lovers who are forced to live surreptitiously behind closed doors... it's an unfortunate situation and the kid shouldn't be belittled or punished because of the accident of his location.

Hope this link works, if not do the same.. C&Paste.

RE: Siddhartha

Dang it, won't link to the page. Copy and paste the whole address.

You really should try some D.H. Lawrence... great winter fare in front of crackling fire... but watch out, a cuddly blanket just won't cut it in the end wink .

RE: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT PRISONS RUN FOR PROFIT ?

Bingo scold ... they are already there to warehouse the poor and actually have been very useful at creating better, more connected criminals= Prison U.

Rehabilitation? How about spending some money on Prevention, a concept few consider.

That doesn't mean I don't believe in the death penalty... but only for serial killers, immediately and without a qualm... as unfit for the human race.

RE: What do you think of Halloween?

Here too about 10 yrs ago.... but they're over it.

Though I did enjoy it in the states when the kids were little and you see their little faces.

On the other hand I also like the idea that it's our last pagan ritual, no matter how skewed it's gotten.

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

Actually, I think it's time for women to rule the world, you know, that OTHER underclass minority... 'cause you guys have been doing a piss poor job of it so far. tongue

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

So what Conrad....

Windups have been happening for thousands of years and plenty of white folks have wound themselves up to do the unspeakable... and black and brown and yellow and all the shades in between.

Winding up seems to be what homo sapiens do best... right up there with raping the planet and a few other nasty habits.

It's just been Trilbys time to crow.

make him prosper, he will not bite you.
This is the principle difference between
dog and man."

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

Nobody is asking for collective guilt Conrad...

You know it can work with some effort, that's all I'm saying, just for some for once to get out of their level of comfort and imagine how it might be from day one to be in this predicament.

But there are plenty who haven't a clue and are not about to "Walk a mile in anyone elses shoes" as Invinciblemuse said.

And yes G.hackle.... just who do you think they learned it from?
Bad manners are bad manners... whoever has them.

At least it's a wonderfully informed verbal chip... the non verbal chips is seething in the millions... and I think with good cause.. I would be.

They have been crushed... too often.

Watch a couple of these, at least to #4, you blue eyed people.

This should be done in every classroom everywhere.

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

Know what I think?

That many people on forums are adrenalin junkies, who need their daily fix of drama instead of having real lives with real people... so much tidier than real life, because when the going gets tough... you can just click your troubles away.

dunno apropos to nothing at all.

RE: Multiculturalism has 'failed

As for charming and passionate Mr. Trilby? I applaud his intensity, all of us should examine ourselves and our situations... don't take your pasts as a given, there are always many sides, not just those measly 2 to a coin. To know yourself is to know many... we really are only one hairsbreadth, one from the other.
