So exactly what do the Irish do in Ireland on St. Paddy's day? Curious minds like to know confused.

RE: How can you ever really know you are being duped?

It's not just this site Kid.... they're all the same dunno....just one strata of strange behavior, wish there was a way to do a study, the break down of 'types' would be interesting and maybe designing a site that avoids them could be discovered. idea

RE: Why do we shout??

Insecurity? dunno

RE: Do you think nice guys finish last, is a true statement?

Bad programming I guess? Different strokes for different folks... not that I haven't had bad boys in my time, but they had hearts of gold for me innocent... I don't do the Mr. Hyde thing.

RE: Do you think nice guys finish last, is a true statement?

I don't think that nice guys finish last at all, but I do think that wimpy ones do hmmm.

If you are confident and strong in who you are and don't let others walk all over you, you will gain respect...and I don't know any woman who doesn't want to respect her man. handshake heart wings

RE: Is this a healthy habit?

Well hopefully you chose an MOS that didn't have any red stars attached and that you picked something that can help you advance yourself into the future. We were a military family for many years, 2 of my children have been in the army... it is a fantastic way for kids to get a jump start on life and responsibility, IF you know how to work the system to your benefit and not be swayed by your recruiter into areas that are beneficial to theirs... be smart.

All thru life you will have to make decisions that only you and you alone will understand and embrace, to become who you want to be and where you want to go. Close your ears to the nay sayers and follow your heart... while keeping eyes and ears open and your brain switched on. Make lists of the pros and cons of any situation that you are ambivalent about, think where you'd like to be in your life 5 yrs from now.... choose your goals and keep focused.

That is your responsibility as a human being on this planet, to be the best that you can be... your positive participation is required and you will have quite a ride peace .

RE: Dating & Stress Relief

I have a son in Denver... how about sitting on the edge of a golf course and watch the geese mess up their golf shots? laugh Go for a ride up to Everton, walk or rather mosey around all the bicycle trails. As suggested above there's the new museum of modern art with a great view of Denver on top.....

Hey you know as well as we do, that if you're with someone you are interested in, it doesn't matter what you do or where you go....it's all good.

RE: Couses and Results.....

An unexamined life is not worth living....

Figure it out or you're doomed to keep repeating frustrated.

RE: Hi, my international introduction

Hi Zombie from a yank in Italy....it is fun being international isn't it? cheers
How's the dastardly Euro treating you folks these days?

RE: A Different World...

The universe in a fish bowl or.....life inside of a cow pat and there is a lot of it actually.... you would be surprised. A lot like the internet dating world a firm outer idea with an inner core of muck.

But on the bright side of the veritable wonders of childhood, mine anyway, it's true that your friends were everything, the joys, the giggles, the tragedies and the pathos of life on the back 40. That song actually was my childhood... tree forts and Indian grinding rocks, an oak tree so big that one enormous branch held 6 kids and became our pachyderm one day through the jungles and a camel trudging across the Sahara sands the next, trout nibbling on your toes in a brook on a hot summers day.... and it was good.

Now they're SUVed from one organized thing to the next and never have any time to themselves other than online sigh.

RE: A Different World...

Speaking of which, how do kids learn to improvise these days?

RE: A Different World...

Especially in jolly old..... don't think they'd ever dry there! You'd need a David and Goliath sling...just scoop and pitch....neccessity is the mother of invention I always say cheers.

RE: A Different World...

Saints preserve us from the damp inner core doh. Oh Lago you're probably a city boy and have never hurled a cow pat in your life laugh.

RE: A Different World...

But that little whipper snapper on the video was too young to remember any of that stuff, his daddy maybe. He probably when to prep school and had fencing practice detective .

RE: A Different World...

Well hell, we used to have dry cow patty fights.... I think that's where the idea for the frisbie came from confused....heads up!

RE: How important is it for you to be married?

Nope not really into paper anymore, but firmly committed one on one for the mutual benefit of both would be lovely.... heart wings

RE: Getting in touch with CS

Most sites don't Snuggly, but you can usually contact them by email under 'contact us' at the bottom of this page. Some sites are good at responding and some aren't. Haven't had any tech probs here so I don't know how this site is.

RE: A Revelation

A Gutturnio 2003 was a very good year here thumbs up.... no water added, scouts honor innocent.

RE: A Revelation

RE: He's Just Not That Into You...

Oh please roll eyes

Newildflower sounds like you've had LOTS of experience coming up with excuses and... he's got real estate in a sinking swamp to sell you too... at 50k/acre laugh!

RE: Serious Question

Yes this worked for me on an Italian site as well.... it really does help diving in! cheering
Course my spelling is still atrocious... can't win em all, but they seem to understand and help out when I ask. eu

RE: Serious Question

Looks like I stuck my foot in it again sigh. sad flower

RE: What do you think of Obama's job as President right now?

While I was in the go Obama parade.... he hasn't done much so far to calm the waters and create confidence in the financial sector, if the market is any indication.

RE: HM...HM...HM....

Actually I found that really insulting for her and women in general very mad!

Women are raised in most places to be delicate and kind.... no matter what. And Marki was in a situation that she was frightened of on top of that.... duh doh.

Hopefully he stays away and you 'think' first next time.

RE: Serious Question

Maybe that's something you see more in the states than in your real time in Ireland, they were maybe first, second generations there.... probably met at church wink.

So the Irish and the Brits have a different sense of humor... that's interesting. But I don't doubt it, my favorite toast is Irish:

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we’ll know them by their limping.

laugh.... if it were only true.

Never been to Spain, though I thought that they would be a lot like the Italians, but people are changing everywhere. Once you could tell who everyones culture was right away when they got off a tour bus....and now we've all blended together in appearances on the outside... modern life. And Italy has changed so much in 25 years, that it amazes me sometimes. But that applies to most of the planet.....we're evolving so fast now, it can make your head spin. laugh

RE: Serious Question

I agree and maybe you can be the magic man who fills me in on the UK psyche.... like why do they get all nervous laughter and NEED to throw in a joke if people are on a 'serious' thread confused?
And what is with this stiff upper lip stuff and stoicism.... not with the women, but Brit men really seem to have a hard time with their touchy feely side dunno?

Are Irishmen different? Because they sure like to make jokes about the Irish sad flower...which I find tacky and insular. I do know that the Irish and Italians seem to have made some connections.... is that just because of religion...were we raised with the same bucket of Catholic guilt doh? Excuse me that was probably a presumption.... you could be Protestant

Just curious minds want to know....as long as you're here angel

RE: Serious Question

Well I'm about 3 weeks new in these forums....but I just butt in cause I'm a Yank and we have no manners. I flail often with Brit humor and tend to be too earnest for them, but I cowgirl up just the same cowboy blah blah... because I'm nosey and have a big mouth blushing.

I have found that on other forums in dating sites, that only a very small minority of the whole site posts their thoughts. Some people just aren't comfortable writers or want to get to know others in a friendly way... guess they just wanna date dunno. I like forums and have made some good friends that way over the years handshake... altho we are scatter hither and yon, you find some people who 'get' you in the strangest places and that's fun!

So my advice is.... just do it! wine.... after all what can they do, come and throw eggs at your windows? tongue

RE: supermarkets

All true.

Always thought TV was the ruination of goodwill and fellowship on the planet, once people started huddling home in front of the damn thing in their private little spaces, we started to become more isolated and less 'us' as community. Depends on where you live of course.

Lets throw them all out the windows..... heads up drinking

RE: The Smoking and Honesty Thread...

How come Demon Drink never gets any bad press btw, just little discreet ads for AA? Course that never killed anybody, guilty or innocent roll eyes and then there were eggs for about 10 yrs... heaven forbid. Now we have alternate driving days in the summer and are told to stay home because of the polution, but my neighbors tell me they grow organic....in ground that has been fertilized with chemicals for 40 yrs and if you go up to the mountains you look out to see this lovely lentil soup over our valley like a dirty blanket.... and the saga continues.

Just sayin.......dunno

But hey... mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa

RE: The Smoking and Honesty Thread...

#7) Ah Kid.... sometimes oxygen is overrated and we'll all croak of something anyway frustrated...
