RE: Libya - Latest Updates Part II

Zeus, thanks for the posts. One question, and it´s a question some of my adult students have been asking themselves. Do you think it´s rather strange that all the unrest has happened virtually at the same time? I mean Tunisia, Egypt, Libya???? And all very quickly. People revolutions in the past have gone on for years before being resolved.

I´m a dog lover too, but I would dearly love to be so inconvenienced as you are. Though not with a cat!

Unfortunately with my lifestyle I can´t have a pet at the moment and it´s difficult as I´ve always had a dog since I was a child.

I think that CS has evolved into something more than it was intended. The forums are not really the place to hook up, if that´s what you want. They have become more of a discussion/flirt group, or for some, simply an ego stroking exercise. I´m not criticising the latter, if that´s what people need then CS is doing them a little service. However, those same people should perhaps take a little care in flirting with all and sundry because at the end of the day they aren´t likely to be taken seriously, and they could raise false hopes. I´ve seen it happen over and over again.

I don´t take them seriously anyway! But I´m not interested in finding a date here either, they just happen occasionally if someone sparks my interest with a message.

As I said earlier the CS dates I´ve had have been with men who do not use or read the forums. I rarely receive romantic interest from forum posters, but lots of nice messages.

Perhaps, but knowing Imma as I do I´m convinced she would always smile and say good morning to this rude young woman.

Even if someone has personal problems it´s no excuse for poor food hygiene, or not smiling once in a while.

I don´t understand it either Imma, and I´m surprised she still has a job. Customer service is so important and I get annoyed when it isn´t delivered.

I´m sure like me, you go into classes some days feeling awful, but we have to smile and laugh with our students otherwise, well in my case teaching adults, they won´t come back and will find their English lessons elsewhere.

Like Pandora I too agree with your post.

There are a lot of people who never really give an opinion and criticise others for doing so. However, nobody really annoys me, I would remove my profile permanently if it all started to get to me in such a way.

I do dislike the people who chase certain members around from time to time just to make a snide remark. I´ve seen it quite a lot, and it´s so obvious when they do it too.

Well for me boban, posting on the forums hasn´t made any difference whatsoever. ALL my CS dates have been with non forum posters and NONE of them actually even read the forums.

If you´re interested in dating then it´s unlikely to be with a forum poster in my opinion, it´s too chummy here, and all the flirting that goes on isn´t generally serious. If it were, most people would be serial daters!

Having said that, you shouldn´t leave the forums, there would be many sad members if you did. Why not focus on profiles of non posters and write to those women?

Is it really such a problem? It doesn´t happen too often that someone keeps on commenting over and over just to bring the thread back up.

Sometimes people post a thread then for valid reasons are unable to respond immediately. I know many long standing members who go back into their thread some time later and respond to each individual comment made in their absence. I don´t see anything wrong with that, it´s just being polite.

In my opinion forum flooders are those who make several inane threads and rarely make more than one or two posts in them. It´s all the rest who keep these silly threads going on and on.

Yes I understand that, but I´m saying go and have a relationship or two....or three.... instead of sitting alone and bewailing the whys and wherefores, not to replace the old failed one, or move in and be serious. That most probably won´t work in all reality.

Well why didn´t you wait until someone could take the photo for you. It seems more natural for me when a photo has been taken by someone else.

I don´t understand this. Why do people take pics of themselves in the bathroom mirror?

Now there are probably valid reasons, but it doesn´t look too good in my opinion when I see a profile pic with camera in hand, or even worse mobile phone.

Can´t people get someone else to take a pic or choose a pic which has been taken at a family gathering, party, work etc....?

My rating is off and has been for a few years since I realised that it´s all a big con, and quite honestly not worth getting worried about. We all have different opinions about attractiveness and there is a huge age range voting which affects the statistics, aside from the provocative pics which often gain higher votes even if a face cannot be seen!

There are some members who deliberately give 10´s in the hope that they will return the favour. They even message people asking them to give them a 10! Take a look at the ratings, the same few are in the top positions and it´s not because they are more attractive than anyone else.

There is a serious and ridiculous game going on behind the scenes. When people have been here a while they usually notice it as I have.

Silly nonsense, turn it off and stop fretting.

I know what you mean though, it is possible to make a more informed opinion about someone in real life at first sight, but love? Nah! That´s why I compared it to meeting an online person. Both are full of deceptions, secrets, and surprises whether pleasant or otherwise.

Love is something which grows and therefore has to be nurtured.

That´s not love at first sight. What if you discovered a few hours later she was not how she actually appeared, either physically or mentally? You know, like meeting a CS profile and pic for the first time in reality.
