ODYSSEY (Dedicated to...?)

ODYSSEY (DEDICATED TO..?)

Theirs someone special
She lies far away
She's all my day
My night and tomorrow
She waits such distance away
A gulf between two worlds
The longest journey
Made by one man
Across the many miles
A constellation away
A turn of the Earth
I will cross it
Just to be near her
Does she miss me
Though our hands
Have never touched

Will she wait
Will she wait
Or find another place to be
That's the gamble I must take
To follow my heart
Different tongues
And different cultures
I hope when we embrace
It can cross that gap
And be forever...

Eternal Romancer

You sit with her
Listening to Venus
And watching it
Disappear into the Dawn
As the Sun rises over
The silent City
Of a Sunday Morning
This is Romance

With her on a Mountain top
As the Sun sets far away
Into the eternal Sea
This too is Romance

Maybe one Day
I shall meet her
And those three
Words that say all and nothing
Will be spoken
Between us
And share a million thoughts
The essence of my core
With her
Then I will know Romance

The Two become One

She lies in your bed
Waiting for you
When you join her
She clings to you for warmth
And love
And you share your need
And watch the Sunrise
After the nights passion
Has been fulfilled
She is all you want
You are all she needs
She cares not
That you are older
She will be by your side
For whatever years
You have left to you
Now two that were separate
Have now become one

Through love

A Death in the Heart

Where did my heart go to die
It left a tear in my eye
No one to stop the pain burning
Nothing to stop
The pain that burns deep
Night after noon it burns deep
I cry myself to sleep
I feel
You cut out a part of me
To carry with you
A part of me is missing
You have my beating heart
It feels numb
Their is just a hole
Where my heart you stole
As my heart stops beating
The death of my heart is fleeting
I know
Where my heart goes to die
When love lay dying
I know where my heart is going
I hope wherever my hurt
Went to die
It didn’t die in vain
The fire like a Candle’s flame
Blow out
My heart’s elemental flame
Love will never be the same again

The Prisoner

I live in a jail
I made it myself
From bars of fear
And walls of nervousness
It has locks
Made of rejection fears
And phobias
And hangups

Can I break free?
Well of course yes
At any time I choose

I am a prisoner of myself
A number I picked
A cell I made
A padded one of safety
And of warmth
Where no one can reach me
Or touch me
Or hurt me

My selected isolation
My personal reality
This jail of my own design
That I hate
But fear to leave

About this poem:
Inspired by personal feelings and also identifying with the end truth revealed at the climax of the 60suk tv series 'The Prisoner' where the late Patrick McGoohan, as 'number six' discovers he is ultimately not a prisoner of 'The Village' but of HIMSELF...as are we all...?

Century 21

'This ain't rock'n'roll-this is genocide!- David Bowie, from 'Diamond Dogs'
-A Century 21 production..
CENTURY 21
Glittering towers and
Twisting spires of glass and marble
Wretched slums and poverty
It's the 21st century...
Deep space probes
And everything-o-phobes
High class jet-set
And a child with no shoes
It's the 21st century...
Civil wars
And satellites
Dropping bombs
And human rights
It's the 21st century...
The height of
Human history
And stolen kids and misery
With politician parasites
It's the 21st century...
Great strides
In technology
And vast disease
And travesty
It's the 21st century...

My Nights

MY NIGHTS

Here alone in the deep dark night
Waiting for the things that give me fright
Nasty memories
Of people lost and gone
And broken affairs
A hundred schemes that came to nought

Of being alone
But not wanting to be a burden
Aware of my age
Of my state of health
And my chances slim
Of reunions
Or new meetings
Of hearts and minds

Hating to be awake
But dreading the dreams

Contemplating life
In the dark
The equation with two x's
What does it mean
The endless enigma of life

Cryptic clues
That cannot be solved
The way of the World
And the suffering in it
And to be able to do nothing

All are sleeping
Drunk or have been paid
Or are getting laid
Or are softly asleep

All but me
A sentinel
In the velvet
Of the night

WiFi

Wifi, Wifi,
I'm on the end of my screen,
You make we wanna scream

Waited for you all day and night
but you never came to love me at all

Wifi, Wifi,
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me

Do you care?
Do you share?
You send me rainbows and hearts
Then disappear

Wifi,Wifi
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me

You forget i'm real,
Sitting here,
Waiting for a skype from you
Hit me up on instagram
But now you just abandon me

Wifi, Wifi
Why do you lie?
You lied and made a mess of me...

Turn my back upon it all

TURN MY BACK UPON IT ALL

If I but could...
Escape from the planet of the cash
All they offer is piles of trash
Buy us off with baubles
Nice tv (to keep you doped-special deals on request!)
Brand new stereo
Have an android dear chap...

I want to go and turn way
To live life
And not just exist
All the temptations of urbania
I will resist
Go back to Mother

But they even charge you to get away
Yasgur's farm with a turnstile
They charge you for Yurts
And screw you for Tents

Twist you for a Tipi

Charge them high
Then not so many will get away
The logic of the market
The evil of the banks

I have to write
To fight
To get me free
To spin out my end
At one and at peace
Beyond the spell of the dragon

Sell my work
Just like selling my soul
The pen as a prostitute
My hand becomes its pimp

Where do we find peace?

About this poem:
I would love to go live next to nature, hippy style, for my last few years(or however long higher powers have granted me)- but they evn charge you to die, let alone live!- this poem expresses my frustration at the situation- 'urbania' is a expansion of 'suburbia'- to cover ANY urban sprawl or town...'dragon' is a reference to a life horror i allegorized in my oem 'dragons domain' also on here... my only means to reach my goal is my pen, and selling the produce of it, which makes me feel rather like an intellectual prostitute- you just cannot win, can you?...Yurs cost over 3000 uk pounds, Tipis not too far behind- there's my dilemma...

THE GREAT SILENCE OF EARTH

THE GREAT SILENCE OF EARTH

No one breaks the silence
On this earth of ours
Some talk
Then go
And leave you bewildered
As to what you are to do
The heart reaches out in the air
Only to find the silence
The world hates you
But you still offer it love
Despite it's ignorance
And endless quiet

Silence in a crowded room
Of hubbub
All speak but say nothing
No disclosure
Only schemes
And everyone
Figuring the angles

The great silence
Causes all the heartache
The disease
And the wars

All for unreachable perfection
The ideal mate
Yet you started the conversation
Too late
Because I had already gone

hOW PEOPLE TALK AND YET SAY NOTHING...HOW IGNORANCE AND EGOTISM 'ME.ME.ME' IS ALL-PERVASIVE ON OUR PLANET...AND HOW WE ARE DOOMED TO ETERNAL SILENCE IF WE DON'T BREAK THIS HELLISH 'SOUND OF SILENCE'

LOVE ON THE NET?!

LOVE ON THE NET?!

I feel alone in need of love
So I go to a site
Where they say they want the same
But my heart is feeling the strain

Dating Sites are getting me down
Their the hardest game in Town
Look for love
But end up alone

They want you to be honest
Then cut you off!
You send a smile
They send a frown!

Dating sites are getting me down
Their the hardest game in Town
Look for love
But end up alone

Walking on eggshells
One word wrong
They throw you out
And your still alone!

They want rich
But you are poor
You want sweet
But they turn sour!

Dating sites are getting me down
Their the hardest game in Town
Look for love
But end up alone...

Dragon's Domain

DRAGON'S DOMAIN
Into the Dragon's domain
Did I and my loved ones
Stray one day
A foul beast it was
All fire and appetite
And an all-seeing eye
It marked my loved ones
One by one
Then consume them in its
Mouth of fire and abomination
Only I did survive intact
To tell the tale of that day
A tale that no one can believe
Or dares to believe is true
Better to mark a man like Cain
And the blame on him to place
One day I will return
To the Dragons lair
To face it once again
Like Beowulf resurrected
My axe and sword in my hands
As I face the beast anew
In the death fight that
Will take place that day
With my final strength
With my final strength
I will plunge my sword into
That fiery evil eye
And the Dragon will scream its last
As the filth of its life
Pools around my feet
And it shrivels and dies
No more friends and lovers to consume
Redemption for my imagined wrongs
And a tribute to Saint George
