Oh Sheeeet! Not again
In another daring caper, thieves made off with 160 boxes of cupcakes stolen from a warehouse in Malaysia last night. They escaped on a sledge pulled by 8 reindeer and then vanished into thin air. This was the tenth time in as many months that this warehouse was plundered.
The owner of the warehouse, a well-known Malaysian cupcake producer whose name may not be mentioned due to the CS ban on ads, said that the cupcakes were insured, but her six Dobermans are very ashamed and depressed for failing her once again after being doped. She said that they will recover fully but to restore their confidence, they will probably need counseling which will cost an arm and a leg.
General Electric, the spokesman for Interpol, said that they suspect it was the work of an international syndicate with roots in the US and South Africa. He also said that they are investigating reports that a female Indonesian national was seen feeding the reindeer at a truck stop somewhere in the middle East. He added that their only lead was that the one villain was addressed as Jim by his accomplice. The other one remains an enigma.
General Electric asked that anybody who notices a sledge, eight reindeer, two men and a woman, heading west, to report it to the nearest police station, and cautioned the public not to approach these villains if they are encountered. He said that there is nothing gentle about the one named Jim. He could be dangerous as he showed in their archives dressed in a Special Forces uniform full of medals.
The case took a new twist when an unnamed eye-witness with a broad South African accent testified that the woman was only hitching a ride to South Africa and not involved in the crime. He also suggested that Interpol should take a closer look at the owner as this could be an insurance scam. He (the eye-witness) has since vanished.
We have just learned that Santa Claus reported the theft of a sledge and 10 reindeer. In their hurry to get away, the thieves left a gummy bag with a Special Forces uniform behind. A police spokesman denied the possibility of the two cases being related as the numbers of reindeer do not correspond. The US government denied any knowledge of the theft and blamed it to Islamic extremists.
There is no truth in these rumors going around that I may have been involved. I must deny these allegations and I distance myself from this incident. The police should rather have look at Santa Claus who reported 10 reindeer stolen when only 8 were borrowed. If you ask me he's trying to con his insurance.

Room with a view
The view from my window is uninteresting; in fact, after three years of looking at the scene with absolutely nothing happening It had become almost unbearably boring. As with so many things that have to be put up with in this life, my mind’s response was to adjust its tolerance threshold; it did a recalibration of the point where things start seeming to be interesting.
Now I set an alarm on my phone to make sure I don’t miss the man across the square taking his dog for its early evening walkabout. I’ve invented a little game where I try to guess which houses the postman will visit and which ones he’ll miss. The postman usually wins the game; I suspect he has the answers written down somewhere.
Sometimes the parked cars might be in a more interesting configuration than normal, or the bin men may have left the emptied bins cluttering up the pavement more untidily than usual. The unpredictability of such events makes them all the more entertaining when they occur.
A fascinating cloud drifted by the other day, and here’s me complaining that nothing ever happens.

A Shooting Incident On Cape Town Station
Yesterday, about lunch time, a man shot himself on Cape Town Railway Station when apprehended after he fired several shots in all directions.
Miraculously, it appears that nobody else had been hurt. The police are tight-lipped about the incident and there seems to be a clampdown on news. What little news is filtering through is vague and conflicting. The number of people involved is not clear. Some accounts say one man other say two and even more.
It seems that (at least) one armed man, dressed in black traditional Muslim attire, as normally worn by women (only the eyes showing), entered the station and several shots were fired. People were running in all directions to escape his attentions.
The police won’t speculate on the motive and we don’t know anything about the deceased yet. I only wonder why he was dressed up like a Muslim woman and how he managed to miss everybody else. The station is fairly busy about that time of the day.
What is happening to this place?

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said it's "increasingly likely" there will be enough Republican senators to vote to call witnesses.
"I think, with the story [about Bolton's book] that came out yesterday, it's increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton," Romney told reporters. Romney said he hasn't fully made up his mind, but he said that what Bolton has to say is "relevant" and that "therefore I'd like to hear it."
"I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton," Romney said. "I've spoken with others who've opined upon this, as well."
Another moderate Republican senator, Susan Collins of Maine, tweeted a statement saying the "reports about John Bolton's book strengthen the case for witnesses and have prompted a number of conversations among my colleagues."
At least four Republicans would have to vote alongside all Democratic senators to secure new testimony, which could lengthen the trial.
Romney, Collins, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee are considered to be the most likely Republicans to vote for witnesses. Murkowski said Monday: "I've said before I'm curious about what Ambassador Bolton might have to say. I'm still curious."
Alexander said he won't decide until after both sides have answered questions from the Senate.
"After we've heard all the arguments, after we heard the questions and the answers to the questions and we've studied the record, then we'll have that vote. And at that time, I'll make a decision about whether I think they need additional evidence," he said.
Sen. Angus King, an independent from Maine who is aligned with the Democrats, said in an interview with NPR that he thinks more Republicans will want to hear from Bolton.
"I think there'll be more than four. My bold prediction will be five or 10," King said.
Sen. Lindsey Graham. R-S.C., a top Trump ally who's resisted calls for additional witnesses and documents, acknowledged that Bolton may be "a relevant witness" and said he'd consider subpoenaing a manuscript of his book.
"I want to know what's in the manuscript. Yeah, I think that's important," Graham told reporters.
