A BOSS knows everything A LEADER admits mistakes. A Boss tells people what to do A Leader shows how to do things. A Boss criticises A leader gives advice. A Boss talks fast and gives oders A Leader gives directions. A Boss demands respect A Leader earns and deserves respect. A Boss rules with threats not law A Leader shows human kindness. Joanne's Dream

An example of the height of the Kustom movement is “Joanne’s Dream”. This remarkable automobile started life as a 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 coupe and was completely transformed in period. Before its radical transformation, this Olds was used as a daily driver in the early 1960s while in the possession of Tom and Joanne Archer. It was Joanne’s dream to build a custom show car and the Olds served as the perfect staring point. Rather than simply applying a lick of paint and some pin stripes, Tom went completely nuts and transformed the 54 Olds into a totally unique and truly individual kustom car. Barely recognizable as the donor Super 88, the now-fully restored machine features a unique roof line and a handmade El Camino-style pickup bed. Starting at the front end, the modified 55 DeSoto grille is the first thing you notice, along with the quad headlights which were lifted from a 1957 Plymouth and grafted into the Olds fenders. The original hood was stamped with louvers and smoothed to be free of trim and badges. Corvette-inspired coves behind the front and rear wheel arches were custom made and fitted to the body and 1959 Plymouth Belvedere trim graces the body sides. The roof line was of course heavily chopped and 1961 Corvair air ducts were integrated into it.

What to wear

As we have kindly been reminded this is a freeeking Datong site, I must ponder

If your date met you for the first time, what to wear?

Men-in all seriousness what could a woman wear that essentially bonks your head and dumps all reason for lust?

Why Are Compliments from Guys So Hard To Accept?

As I stated in my previous blog I just got back from visiting my kids. On the way back home my daughter drove me back and she spent the weekend here with me. Her friend Lisa came along and the 2 girls went crazy at the Casino we visited.

It was so funny. They flirted and they gabbed with guys. One guy was already to be my "son-in-law". HA HA HA HA!! My daughter made me laugh when she told him "No way"!! The poor man was persistent. And she finally gave him the slip.

My daughter likes to drink Chardonnay and the ever present glass in her hand made them sillier and bolder. My goodness, what a transformation in life from a little girl holding my hand when we went places to a wonderful young woman having fun away from Dad.

On the way home at 1 a.m. the subject rolled around to giving women compliments. It seemed like the compliments that were handed out that night were too good to be true. I understood because I liked to see if I could "score" when I was a young dude. And my daughter and her friend were wise to the advances of these young Lothario's!! But when they started saying they couldn't believe the compliments and that it was hard for them to accept I wondered why!

I had the same problem twice! I was married 2 times and both times my ex's just couldn't accept me saying to them that I thought they were beautiful. And that I loved them. I meant it, but they just didn't appreciate it. The second wife told me I was crazy!!

My daughters friend responded with a puzzling answer again: Women just cannot accept they are beautiful!

I fail to see why it's such a hard thing. Are there any answers? Please ladies, tell me why?

Where's Our Friend?

After reading and commenting on Robert787's blog yesterday he disappeared. Since I don't have a computer I couldn't follow his depression blog!!

Then last night for some odd reason I dreamed him in a weird setting. I have not worked for the Los Angeles Dodgers in years. But there I was in my dream doing what I had done so many times, and that is, walking around seeing how things were going. I suddenly came upon him sitting sadly by the side of the stadium entrance.

I was shocked to see him looking so sad and down so I invited him in for a freeby to watch the game.

Needless to say, I was concerned about his blog yesterday and I was hoping he wasn't telling us something.

Has anyone heard from him? I am blocked so I can't PM him!!

on the lighter side

on the lighter side because, boy, this place needs a lighter side. i watch films. i watch a lot of films, sometimes over and over. i play them while i do stuff around the house, stopping at a favorite scene or song. i have a few film sound tracks, Last Man Standing with Ry Cooder, Cat People with Giorgio Moroder, I'd like "There Will Be Blood's" track. Some amazing music, or Boogie Nights. when i hear a song, it takes me back to the scene. The Departed's Baby Blue, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet or The Crow...too many to list.

Well It finally Happened,

doh Remember over the last few months I ve commented on how much I hate drivers who text when they re driving. Well on sunday a early 20s indian fellow blew thru a yield sign and hit the rear portion of my car,doh ,and spun the car around. He then approached me, then noticed alot of damage to his car, then ran back to his car and drove off. The police are looking for him and his damaged car.
I m thankful I wasn t hurt, and my car can be repaired, but the thought of it could have been my neighbors kids crossing the street there ,that quiet sunday morning scared me. Courtesy on the road don t exist anymore, doh
And some of my friends wonder why I go shopping in the early early morning hrs,
confused , Maybe I m not as crazy as some people think, dunno
