WhatUwish4: And the second question is...are you a "bad" person for charging so much for your vegetables, or is it the governments fault for putting you in this situation?
I charge what the market will bear. If people prefer China food then I have to exit the business. I know this year has been more difficult than prior years and I looking at not hiring my helper next year. But I guest this is part of the recession. I only hope that property taxes will continue downward as it appears that farmland is becoming worthless.

Which is exactly why so many companies have had to move overseas. Their only choice is to lower their costs or exit the business.

If it becomes "Worthless" in the eyes of the Taxman,it might increase in Value,ie,become more productive again!

So what about that question?
It is the regulations that are killing business here... let people choose what they want to buy and let that control the market... then the jobs will come back.
agman: Well that is capitalism (survival of the fitest). As opposed to communism where everyboby lives in heaven or hell.
Here's the question again..."And the second question is...are you a "bad" person for charging so much for your vegetables, or is it the governments fault for putting you in this situation?"

Some of us choose not to live in a socialist enviroment, but to control our own desinty.... to live or die.... not be propped up or to help prop up those who can not do it on their own.

No one in their right mind will start something in this present Climate! People wonder why ,after all those Bailout Billions, there are no new Jobs!
Government cannot create Jobs! That's another Lie the Progressives are perpetuating!

Funny, I don't see the Scandinavian countries going in that direction. That is the most ridiculous held assumption about Socialism, that it automatically turns into a USSR type communist dictatorship.
By that same token, is it fair to assume that all capitalist societies (Corporatism/Plutocracy) will turn into a financial disaster like the USA? Just look at what Capitalism and their political alliances (Repubs/Dems) did to the middle class in America.

Well, I never claimed to be a good person. But it is true that government plays a roll in price along with all the other costs involved. It is the governments fault when fairness is not maintained.

Untied Europe will do it for you! I'll watch from my cosey warm Room, wherever, and kill myself laughing! Might even come back, and tell you,I told you so!
FAD,what kinds of Kookie Sites you digging through?
I like some of the articles that use real time statistics and some common sense. They do point out a lot of truths, especially how bot the Republicans and Democrats are responsible for the disaster in America, and how the middle class has been screwed by crony corporatists.
I don't know about those books there Oddly enough, their server has been brought down by Big Brother perhaps
Take the price of oil, of which the expense of almost everything in the market factors upon, is around $75 a barrel, it's true value, as in its ultimate effect upon and demand from the market and estimated oil reserves(both untapped and in storage), places its true value of upwards of $300 a barrel. Government's artificialy suppress the value of oil otherwise we'd be in an economic meltdown unlike anything that's come before. Under absolute free market rules, we'd be finished.
Nope,we wouldn't be that dependent on Oil,and could tell the Saudi and others to SUCK it!
