The Sound Of Silence
Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sounds of Silence" was, and remains, my favourite song of all time. I spent many hours listening to it. Silence is the canvas on which all sounds are painted. I have tried to capture its essence with this haiku. "Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.
PEACE
This poem is about me - letting go and getting peace after a divorce - no anger no hatred no blackmail just contentment and peace within. Although my ex wants absolutely nothing to do us (me and the kids) - we embraced the situation and moving forward - wishing him good luck with his future.

In the haiku, "In shadows we roamed" sets the scene of a relationship that once existed, where the lovers were intertwined in each other's lives, sharing moments both bright and dark. "Echoes of love now faded" signifies that the intensity and passion of their love have diminished over time, leaving behind only faint remnants of what once was. Finally, "Lost souls find solace" suggests that despite the loss and heartache, there is still hope for healing and finding peace in the aftermath of lost love. It speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and the possibility of moving forward despite the pain.
