It's an outlet for folks who deal with or may find themselves in extreme situations.
This may seem cold & uncaring to folks don't deal with/may be in such situations.
An example -
A group of us were conversing & a tragedy of some sort came up.
There'd been no survivors & I casually observed, "No walkers, no crawlers."
A friend was a bit set back at the flippancy, and then said, "You picked that up in the Coast Guard, right?" He was right. I had.
I'd not given it much thought 'til then, but we had a number of such phrases - and to an extent attitudes - which took a bit of the edge off such incidents.
I later did volunteer EMS.
They also have a similar jargon, and for the same purpose.
Good one Miclee
I asked; "You mean I am going to live?"
"Oh yes" The doctor said.
I turned to Cor and said; "Honey cancel the flowers"
I though the doctor would never stop laughing.

Harbal This is very funny you all made my day for sure, thank you
What I thought was funny were some of the comments, no one was laughing really at the tragedy itself
It is NOT a joking matter, agent scold
Jenny, you had the nerve to scold me?
I'm not picking on Jenny. You you aren't the only one in this blog. I'm just pointing out that people in this blog saw it as entertainment.
Regardless of what you laughed about nothing happened in this disaster that was funny.
I don't have anymore to say about it. It's Harb's blog. He holds the strings how to handle it.

Appalled Commenter - "Why not an Auschwitz themed summer camp?"
Interesting concept.
On the last day at Auschwitz Camp - EVERYONE INTO THE SHOWER!!
You seem to be genuinely upset by this blog, so I'll try to explain:
There was another blog about the Titanic, started shortly before this one; comments were disabled and the blog seems to have been deleted now; perhaps out of nervousness due to the controversy on this blog. The blogger's intention seemed to be to present a documentary about the Titanic, by posting a couple of Youtube videos. Had comments been allowed on that blog, I would probably have posted a comment something along the lines of "I think most of us here will already know about what happened to the Titanic". As I couldn't do that, I started this blog as another way of making that same point. As with all blogs, this one didn't end up as it started. Despite the jokes, I'm sure no one here has a callous attitude towards those involved in the sinking of the Titanic.
On that other Titanic blog, one of its author's few comments was a reference to women and children being put in the lifeboats; the implication being that it was yet another instance of men getting a raw deal. I didn't think that comment was in particularly good taste, but unlike my blog, opportunity for registering objections wasn't available. The blogger did make the same point in a forum thread, where he said "It's women and children first...I will be back...when thousands of men have drowned". The thread was "How would you define a nice man", post 52.
That original Titanic blog has been replaced by the promise of one about motorbikes.
I was going to talk to you in private email about your explanation so as to avoid others jumping in and imposing their thoughts.
I read your explanation early this morning, in fact I read it a couple times to try to understand what you are saying.
What I came up with is:
There was another blog about the Titanic that had comments in poor taste about the disaster and therefore the mods chose to pull that blog.
So you decided to write this blog to counteract that blog. I still don't understand why there needed to be a blog written about the Titanic unless it was about the horror of that fateful day. Comments of sadness about all those people drowning in the ocean. Instead it was a comedy blog. A certain person said several times that you made her laugh, that the comment someone wrote was entertaining.
You mentioned post #52 in the Nice Men thread. I went back to look at it. The author of that thread is a stirrer on CS. He writes threads to divided men and women.
But I still don't understand why you had the need to write this blog.
I appreciate it that you spent time writing your explanation Harb. I honestly am not holding a grudge against you for writing this blog. I still think the blog shouldn't have been written.
I'm probably still missing the point of why you wrote the blog. I no longer want to discuss it in private email however if you care to explain further I am more than glad to read it and respond if necessary.
I didn't start the blog in order to make fun of the victims of the Titanic disaster,
I'm sure you didn't intend to make fun of what happened that day but not everyone who posted thinks like you do. Therefore it became something other than what your intentions were.
When I read a blog or a thread in the forums I first try to figure out if it's about getting people to discuss the subject or maybe it's about joking around or maybe someone needs to be comforted.
My guess is those who posted thought it was supposed to be a fun blog.
This might be a lesson for anyone who writes a blog or a thread to make sure they define in the beginning what they want out of the blog or thread.
If there's any question in someone's mind if they should write a blog or thread the fact that the member questions if they should write it is the answer.
My motto is: "When in doubt.....don't".
Happy New Year Harb
This is a dating site, after all. Finding someone with a similar sense of humor might be as easy as posting something that isn't easily recognized as humor...then sit back and watch.
Here.. I'll throw you a life buoy
