apples to oranges...

Almost daily, I read some comparison to the statistics of the number of influenza deaths compared to coronavirus. That makes me want to question their logic. Oh... there is no logic, so it must be a politically motivated comment.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

There are thousands of death every year from influenza according to the statistics.

I haven't heard of any country where the health system was overwhelmed by influenza though. Every year lots of people I know get the flu and survive. Doesn't look like it'll be the same with Covid-19 - I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Until then, I'd rather be save then sorry.
Yeah, it's usually the same group that compares death by automobile versus death by guns. Apparently death by anything is OK, as long as it's not the leading cause. crazy laugh
I had the flu earlier this year. Someone spread it around the office and at least half the staff were affected. Many missed a few days work during that time. Coronavirus listed as pandemic.
Apples to oranges.

While vast majority of deaths from Swiss cheese are age 60+ many young adults and middle aged Americans are becoming seriously ill and surviving only after prolonged hospitalizations and ICU admissions that have long term consequences. This is a dangerous virus for most age groups.thumbs down
