Put one in the W column
This spring/summer I am playing on 3 different ball teams and they are at least somewhat related.Last year my Saturday softball team (2 games each Saturday) won the championships. This team decided to enter the same team not only in the Saturday league, but also in a Thursday evening league in north NJ and asked me to join them. Our first game is next Thursday evening.
In addition our pitcher, Frank, plays baseball on either Saturday afternoon or Sundays in PA. He asked me to join this team and our first game was at 4:30 pm today. The ride is over an hour, but Frank drives his company Cadillac and the company pays for gas & tolls. So, I ride for free.
This league is a wooden bat league. I haven't swung a wooden bat since high school. Nonetheless, my first time up today, I got a single. I also stole a base, scored a run and made 2 nice catches in left field. We won 8 to 4 against the second best team in the league.
Woo hoo ! What fun !! Spring has officially sprung !
