Weaponized...

I'm trying to be non-political today, but I'm noticing a really high percentage of Republicans using the word 'weaponized' to describe any government efforts that follow the law. Governor Ron DeSantis says it often, probably as much as he uses 'woke' to describe some political orientation that differs from his own.

Hearing the word weaponized gets connected with the Department of Justice (DOJ) when they research into someones (believed to be illegal) activity and have proof of wrongdoing... suddenly, the Republicans (or those who support Republicans) insert that word... weaponized in their statements on TRUTH, X (formally Twitter) or news shows.

Last week, I blogged about a political 'dog whistle' where certain words or phrases are used to alert followers of a political group. MAGA was one of them and weaponized needs to be added to the list.

Wouldn't you think laws are in place for a reason?
I get it... when a government agency follows the law they are being weaponized.

If only gray cars gets pulled over would you say the yellow cars get away too easy?
If you learned nothing from the Lous Lerner saga
(following orders from higher up, that's how it works)
then your memory is short lived.
How do you like KJP trumping your blog page?

Remember to go out & vote for my friend, Barak Amerika.- Joe
Grand... Huh?

I'm voting for Chris Christie... even if it's a write-in vote!
So you aren't seeing it?... every blog has a pop up ad featuring
KJP & Uncle Joe.
Chat is unable to see a lot of things!laugh
That or unwilling. I suspect the latter.

Isn't it weird, here we have the worst breach of democracy in our time and one side just say "nothing to see here, move on". And "they are just going after a criminal"....lol
What crime? They been looking for something to catch him on since at least 2015.
But Hillary walked, Oh yea. And she was so corrupt not even Biden can beat it. Not to mention her husband.
Nono, forget that- Trump was driving at 55 in a 50 zone ..ahhh you see... he a criminal!
And 'woke'. That's a dog whistle word.

Using dog whistle words is a brilliant technique. It means that ill-educated, or less skilled people who understand little will hear words that mean something to them. Alternatively, the speaker can talk utter incoherent twaddle and the listeners will hear words than mean something to them.

I've seen it so many times on here, or in the workplace where people pick out a few significant words and fill in the blanks from their own value framework. The writer, or speaker may have said something completely different, or opposing to the reader, or listener's comprehension. The technique relies on a lack of English comprehension skills.

I suppose I should thank Mrs. Le Grys for the ridiculous amount of English comprehension exercises she tasked me with for two years running, and how strict she was with marking them. laugh
That is not true for some...no political pop up here unless you think there is a shoe conspiracy going on...laugh

We finally agree on the same topic.
But, in all fairness, let's wait for the trial to confirm the facts.

It has intensified since the Maui Owui.
Weaponise, woke - just wait a mo, one of the local Ruh-pubic-ans will be here flaunting demonrats - ya wanna bet? sigh
if they were being consistent I don't think that word would be
getting used.
They can track down 10,051 people from Jan 6 but they tell us they don't know who
took coke into the white house. That's is absurd and if they don't know they should all be fire because it could have been poison and could have killed our president.
Who knows but perhaps they do...and not making it a big deal...could be a form of distraction...

dunno
