Can I believe it? Unfortunately, yes, I can!

Why can't people read history and science. The earth changes. DUH. Greta is a nut job. Just saw news on melting glacier. And scientists say even is all pollution, change happened tomorrow... it will still melt. We can NOT stop it. My farm once lay under an inland sea. Once was jungle. Once buried under a glacier. Know what? It all happened BEFORE humans made the scene!roll eyes doh
Come now, we are not exactly "helping things along" with our CO2 emissions, are we?
Without using a search engine, Does anyone know what amount of man made CO2 emissions actually make it to the Troposphere and how long does it remain there or does it go elsewhere?
I didn't think so. rolling on the floor laughing
Unbelievable ! wow laugh

There you go mate, knock yourself out...

But what would those scientists at NASA know, right?

You drank the kool-aid. Good. Now you please enjoy their artistic renderings. Among many things, Ask a real climatologist what qualifies the accuracy and precision of instruments used to measure the climate before 1985 etc?
Well, Greta may be growing bananas in her backyard, but winter is here for me.
Cold and snow and festive spirit lingering around already.
laugh

It's here for me too.
So what natural catastrophes have pushed the global temperature up in the past 100 years?
And during those historical changes there have been five mass extinctions.

Duh.

Ye-ah, that's kinda the point.

We needed and need the eco-system stability of the Holocene era to thrive and survive.

Duh.

As we transition into the Anthropocene era of the sixth mass extinction we have a choice: continue to behave as we have in the last 100 years knowing that our children and grandchildren are going to suffer the consequences of our stupidity and selfishness, or try to claw back from the major tipping points before the narrow window of opportunity closes.

We clawed back from the damage we did to the ozone layer and are back in the safe zone. We know we can create change.
Hello, mr. Merlot.
Have you read and answered post # 7? Have you spoken with any qualified climatologist yet or just the politicians and photo op high school grad types?

I hope you had a great day today. wave
I've done my research and I'm pleased to say that it was easily understood, makes good sense and it shows without doubt that humans have caused the problem this time.
All the studies, methodologies and results are published together with explanatory notes.
You will know this of course and you will have studied them which is why you are able to refute them all.
The only thing I couldn't find was information on recent natural catastrophic events which could be shown to raise global temperatures.
So if you please can you post your findings.
I assure you that I will give them my full unbiased attention.

Watts Up With That?

The world's most viewed site on global warming and climate change
Dear kind sir. It pleases me that you are pleased with your in depth research on today's projected dire environmental circumstances. Please Believe what you choose to believe. I do not wish to challenge you or your in-depth studies and beliefs. I am sure you have studied the ongoing doom and gloom climate theories thoroughly to reach your beliefs and therefore rather not want to listen to anyone with those scientist and non political leaders having real applicable experience and studies in environmental science who truly understands what our dynamic environment is about. I only hope you consider reading post # 7 again and also think about the possibilities of what you are hearing from politicians and space programs who need money to pursue their own agendas. May the force be with you in your studies and let me keep my hard earned money from my near 33 year career in mostly air quality environmental science.
Excellent web site. thumbs up
Hm, sorry to break it to you, climate doomers.
But the human presense is way too insignificant to cause any climate changes.
We are guilty of rubbish distribution, or let's say it as it is, rubbish business blooming.
Those who blame the most polluted countries are the same who give them money to store their rubbish.
Volcanos erupting, hurricanes and earthquakes aren't your creation.
But fires are.
The Universe will work in its ways and if it is time to wipe us up off of the Earth face. Be it.
Who are we to expect special treatment.
We are just guests, here today, gone tomorrow.
Your rant is simply restating your own position which we are already know.

I asked you for evidence that global warming is caused by natural events.
You have discovered this through your 33 year career. Please enlighten us.

The evidence is pointing to human activity and we are going with that unless you can show plausible evidence to the contrary.
Why are you so insistent that Merlot express an opinion, or state a 'fact' without research?

Do you think that 'real' scientists and 'real' leaders spurn research to obtain accurate information? confused
You mean like the petrol we burn in mtor vehicles, or the fossil fuels we burn for electricity, or in manufacturing plants?

It seems rather odd to take responsibilty for fires, but not fires. dunno

I like my children and grandchildren. I'd rather they didn't experience a dystopian mass extinction event.

I think it takes a certain kind of psychopathy to dismiss the fate of others.

That's egocentrically arse about face.

We must iu]give special treatment as fully cognisant guardians of the planet.
Rant no. I created this blog to state my view on the insanity of another the sky is falling nonsense theory. I haven't seen any empirical data supporting the bull shit political and world domination ideas that are supported by real climatologists.

For what it is worth, I don't really want to try and change anyone's mind about doom and gloom nonsense like climate change. Believe what you like. Don't worry be happy. And btw thank you for posting your thoughts. They are always welcome. wave
Ok, I thought we were debating the cause of global warming but it's really about you and how corrective action to save the planet will interfere with your lifestyle. No problem.
I have some corrective actions to offer: nuclear power. Now.
Not 15 years from now after wind and solar proved insufficient.

Now it's weird to think about how when my grandmother was born it was about
1 billion people eating, shitting and polluting daily. Now it's 8 times as many... eight times as many in about hundered years... and we wonder why it's not a walk in the ballpark nomore... lol
Good going human race! Well done.

Still... we don't need to send some $ to Nigeria to encourage less humping....nono..
No need for that, let them multiply as they imagine that to be the best way out-
still now in 2023 as was in all previous years. Yes be a big strong family! Faammillyy

Humans are not the only species impacted by our planet’s climate crisis. The world’s wildlife and habitats will also face profound, sometimes catastrophic, change. Increases in temperature could trigger the collapse of fragile ecosystems and huge waves of extinction. The choices we make today have the power to reduce the suffering of people and animals in the future.
Thank you for your post. It is obvious you are concerned.

A nearly two-decade effort by Californians to cut their emissions of planet-warming carbon dioxide may have been erased by a single, devastating year of wildfires, according to UCLA and University of Chicago researchers.

The state’s record-breaking 2020 fire season, which saw more than 4 million acres burn, spewed almost twice the tonnage of greenhouse gases as the total amount of carbon dioxide reductions made since 2003, according to a study published recently in the journal Environmental Pollution.

Researchers estimated that about 127 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent were released by the fires, compared with about 65 million metric tons of reductions achieved in the previous 18 years.

Source: Los Angeles Times.

Not all but many of the fires in California are caused by dry lightning strikes. A natural phenomena.
Forest fires were always part of a well balanced ecosystem. In fact forest fires were often larger then than they are now.
Yeah, you asked for evidence of global warming from natural events. There's one example.
I asked for catastrophic natural events. What you gave me was insignificant in the context of global warming.
.

OMG. laugh Yeah about as insignificant as human involvement.

I guess my point is... 18 years of "saving the planet" in California and then nature comes and messes it all up. laugh
