Someone must have appointed her unless legal cases in the US are allocated on a Ballot system. I just can't see how Donald could... no longer being the Prez. But I've been wrong before and probably will be again.

Correct. According to Wiki:
On May 21, 2020, at age 39, Cannon was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

I believe her selection for the Mar-a-Lago case was random, but some say she should have recused herself due to obvious circumstances. Already there are comments she's showing favoritism to Trump and his attorneys and the possibility of postponing the court date until after the election. Should Trump win the Republican party nomination and with the 2024 presidential election, there would be zero chance he would be charged with treason having stolen classified documents after his presidency and suspicion he is in a position to sell off US government top military secrets. He would become untouchable and protected by the veil of the presidency. All that would be suspended until 2028... or if he (with the support of the Republicans) gets his way and changes the law to be president for more than 2 terms, then America will change forever.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is developing plans to use the federal government to punish his political opponents if he wins a second term next year, and critics — including some prominent Republicans, even some staffers from his first term — say these plans would imperil American democracy.

Biden stood with the auto workers. Trump hired a union buster over labor when he was in office. I see a difference.

I doubt closing borders will be attained with any administration. Trump with the aid of Steve Bannon failed.
I'm in favor of deportations and not giving financial aid to illegals.
Anchor babies needs to end. You come here illegally to have a child on American soil so the child can be American and you have a place to stay needs to change.
This is a problem that plagues all countries and not only America. It seems like there is no good answer.

@gonelikeThose students have made an investment to be there in America. They don't have to swallow all the jingoistic crap that is spouted there. They benefit your economy and contribute culture and variety. They don't have to accept or enthuse about the religious bigotry and racism they hear and experience. But by and large they have chosen to be there and study there and stay there. Your imagined disrespect just reflects your bias or xenophobia or bigotry (take your pick). Who are these foreign 'vermin' (to quote a potential potus47) you want to eradicate?

The intent of this blog was merely comical that only one photo existed of judge Cannon. It wasn't my plan to make it political. Now that that has happened... so be it.

I've seen a few stories this week that Cannon appears to be intentionally delaying some trial dates that could be extended past the November election. That includes a pretrial date too.
There is the possibility the delay could (adversely) affect the other pending trial dates.
