One of those things

In one of my first blogs I mentioned that I had asked this guy if he was single and when he replied he was if he'd like to meet me for a coffee. He very nicely turned me down. Well this morning I happened to be talking to a colleague of his who has been a friend of mine for 3 years. I happened to mention this and he asked me to describe the guy to him---so I did. He smiled and told me the reason the guy turned me down was because he's gay. He also said the guy would have seen what I did as a compliment because this guy has low self esteem and what I did would have boosted his confidence. At least some good has come out this and my own self esteem has been boosted knowing that the reason for being turned down wasn't anything personal. I still like this guy but now as a friend rather than in terms of a relationship.

It's good that you found out the truth, and that you can still be friends, and I'm sure he appreciates your friendship.
