'Keeping our kids safe from predators'

I notice that the high court in the UK has given Facebook 72 hours to remove the page 'Keeping our kids safe from predators', a page set up in Northern Ireland to monitor paedophiles, the case was brought by a convicted paedophile as "He claimed harassment, misuse of private information, and a breach of his right to privacy and freedom from inhuman or degrading treatment".
I would be interested to hear member views & on whether such a person deserves any rights?

No rights whatsoever!! how did he get a Court to side with him???confused
beer
My old man used to say; convicts=no rights.cool
Parti, a quote from the article "Mr Justice McCloskey said: "Society has dealt with the plaintiff in accordance with the rule of law."

"He has been punished by incarceration and he is subject to substantial daily restrictions on his lifestyle."
Bungalow, The UK is also currently fighting a ruling by the EU that prisoners should be allowed to vote. wow
I'm from Puerto Rico, and already convicts have the right

to vote.very mad very mad
Should be made to walk around with a Jesters Hat On and a Bell around their neck!!!!wow laugh laugh
cheers grin grin
Bungalow, could that be because like Spain the politicians, in-particular local ones, have a habit of ending up there dunno
Parti, my inclination would be not to let them walk around, ever.
Thats where I agree with sharia law, he would have been killed if convicted so case closed....
If the guy had been rehabilitated however, then should people be able to vilify his name?
Does exposing them help the community really ?
Or is it our safeguarding our children as parents that is the key ?
I don't know what the right thing to do is here... saskia
Teddy, yes I see what you're saying here, in this case the court has ruled that the man can not be identified so I can't state his age, however as I say he was convicted & therefore the points you raise would have been looked at before any proceedings against him, due mainly I think to the high cost of bringing these cases the CPS in the UK wouldn't even consider taking action if there were doubts that a jury wouldn't convict.
No right what so ever... They have no right!doh frustrated
Virgo, I think you could get 2 blogs out of that commentwink laugh
As the clock is ticking I just had a look at the Facebook page, seems from some of the comments that as soon as it's shut there will be a new one to replace itrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Welela, you must have strong feelings to get a comment like that from youwave
I say chop their willies off ...... professor
Simmo, the vigilantly aspect from your comment is really another blog, I don't think the aim of the FB page is to do anything but alert parents to the risks in their area, on the subject of reporting to the police daily, in the UK this may be once a day I'm not sure, but all this involves is appearing at the front desk so the log can be updated, takes say 15 minutes max., that leaves them 23 hours 45 minutes to do whatever.
If you do the crime, do the punishment. The victim has a lifetime of scars as well.
Nessa, doesn't seem you'd get much argument for that herelaugh wave
Name and address of men & women like that (there are also women who do the same) should be announced in news papers, inet (e.g. facebook etc.). No other way and keep them somewhere deep down in the darkest corner of a safe cellar. Lock them in and through the key away.
Connect, keeping them locked up is the only sure way of keeping them away from children IMO, they are very adept at changing their name & appearance & popping up at a playground or school seemingly at will.
i had seen this image a few days ago.. think it suits here perfectly..

Teddy, scold Firstly I think we've has enough religious blogs this week, secondly, if your not careful you'll have to write a blog about yourself knocking Catholics rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
I'll take that into consideration Zman.. but notify me if I do this again.
Simmo, yes I did read it & there's a lot happening in UK on that subject, I did't mention it as I don't think clouding the subject by the introduction of a religious element is going to be useful in this case, I tend to stay away from religion as I have fairly strong views on the subject & don't want to appear in one of Teddy's blogs rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Meta, a very well considered comment & personally I agree with your conclusion, I should just point out that Simmo also agrees with you, I mention this as Simmo thinks we didn't see his 3 foot headline laugh
yeah dont go on about the catholics , but you can hook into the jahov's wittnesses for failing to witness all the in-justise's going on ,this earth ...you know ...I can see it now ...gods saying what did you wittness ...and they all say what'? wave
Non, you are right as usual & make a compelling argument,as I recall the death penalty was abolished other than for such severe crimes as leaking the number of tea bags used in the civil service & starting a fire in a naval dockyard if my memory serves me correctly, although the tea bag thing may now come under freedom of information act. There were indeed several miscarriages of justice, however some which were questioned have been proved good by DNA testing of the evidence, so it would seem we're back to locking them up & throwing away the key.
I'm having trouble getting onto your link due to my settings so will try another way in a moment.
burring them at sea like bin laden is an option ...banana
may be if you ask the USA president to fly some drones over there and take them all out ...gift
Virgo, as the Americans aren't going to nuke the moon now , we could use the rocket from that & send them to the moonrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Sad, I agree and for the castration: Not the bols should be cut off, but the brain, as they still will have the thoughts and phantasy in theier head. So best kill them, or do you all think, it is fun for a 6months! old Baby to be used from one of those creatures???
Saddest, sounds as though you're one step in front on this, does it workdunno
Non, it's a shame you had to tell your kids about that sort of thing but on the positive side at least these days we can all discuss this, the younger generation probably won't believe that until recently this conversation would have been dismissed as a fairy tale about events that never happened.
Very true Zman thumbs up
A thought has just occurred to me whilst posting a comment on Teddy's blog, this is not the problem in Spain that it is in the UK, I was told some years that it's because anyone here caught messing with a child knows they will never be safe to leave their house again, in fact they're not even safe in the house, don't know if that's true but as I say it's not as prevalent here so maybe it is.
On chemical castration - I think as soon as they're out and stop taking it, the effect will stop, too. Chop of their willies is the safest bet!
