Hurray for Spring !!
Yesterday was a cold & windy day, but sunny.Despite this, due to it being sunny,
I forced myself out to take some nature photos.
Of course, I dressed in multiple layers.
But, having been in shorts & short sleeve shirts in Florida most of the winter,
my blood is not fully prepared for the biting cold yesterday.
Regardless, I'm happy to report that the bald eagle's nest,
that I know of, is still up and the female eagle is
definitely sitting on eggs in it.
While the nest is high up in a pine tree,
I can clearly see her white head
and those piercing eyes looking down on me,
giving me quite a stare.
I did take a couple of pictures of her from a distance.
The nest is much more photo-friendly than in years past.
Hurricane Irene blew down their previous home, which was
in a bigger higher spruce tree and much more hidden by high full branches.
In order to get photos of it I lierally had to stand in the middle of a muddy swamp
and even then, it was just too occluded to get decent photos.
This year, I'm looking forward to seeing the eaglets,
as they later roam around the nest and eventually the more sparse branches,
before they try out their new wings.
Imagine the excitement and literal LEAP of faith,
as they take their first airborne flight.
Yesterday I also photographed a black cormorant with his
mating crests on top of his head near his eyes,
a soaring osprey in the distance, some turtles,
Canadian geese and a mallard duck couple standing on a branch.
Lastly I did some food shopping and also bought a bunch of vegetable seeds.
Ace Hardware has them on sale this week for 4 packs or $1.
Today was a much warmer day and MUCH less windy.
I mailed out a couple of ebay sales
and actually hung two loads of laundry on my backyard clothes lines.
Thankfully, no birds decided to soil them.
That has happened twice in about the last 6 years.
I don't care what anyone says,
it's NOT good luck.
I'm happy to report that my scallions, red onions and chives are
growing nicely in my garden.
Indeed, Ive already harvested & eaten some of those chives
the last 2 days.
It will be great when the garden is producing a lot more this summer.
I have my second softball practice this Saturday at 10 am for my Saturday league
and my first games (double header) of the spring this Sunday for my Sunday league.
Yes, spring is really finally here !!

Whispered to flowers of the fairy tale strange,
Petals smiled satiny,
Began to tremble sheets emerald.
And the flowers which have been got drunk by dews,
Told to fairy tale winds gentle,-
Also drank their winds rebellious
Over the earth, over a wave, over rocks.
And the earth, under spring caresses
Dress up fabric green,
I overflowed with star fairy tales
My soul which is madly in love.
And now, these days formidable,
These dark nights rainy,
I give you, stars fine,
Your fairy tales thoughtfully strange!
The main thing to go on a meeting to that that you feel. I don't think that I am the kind person. As each person and I hurt, and can even more. After all we often give pain sometimes without realizing. I treat what hurt without realizing. I consider the good person not that who does good, and that who doesn't create the evil. But I know one. I treat people as would wish the attitude towards. And I love here people without knowing English at all. World and good to you. That you were loved also loved.
Yes, spring is here too, even though it does not look like it from this photo.
Happy Spring Jim.
It's 61F. here today & I'm headed out ot enjoy it !
