I remember her on the Tonight Show...Johnny Carson made her famous...sad that he never spoke to her again after she got her own show...perhaps he didn't like the competition...

I remember first seeing Joan Rivers on the old Ed Sullivan show,when I was a youngster. (very young)She was one of the first female comedians. She inspired many future female comedians. Her witt, and humor will be missed,

Hello L.L.,

I was not a big Joan Rivers fan...but it really is too bad she has passed. Some are somewhat baffled that she did die during her surgery. Many report she was very healthy for her age and also was doing stand-up the night before.

She will be missed by many.

When you are in your eighties...nothing is certain...the risks are there...but there will be an investigation...I am also sure the risks of this surgery were discussed with her and she signed on the dotted line...but it really is a shame...
