How odd is reading?

When you think about it, I mean. We write down odd symbols and other people look at those odd symbols and they make sense, create a conversation or a picture.

They can move us to tears, make us laugh, make us understand someone else's life, make us angry.

Odd little symbols which reach across time and space and enter other people's minds. Poetry - literature - a scribbled handwritten note through your door - newspaper headlines -

Sometimes we have to read them two or three times to take in the message. Most of the time, though, the message is immediate. The odd symbols have done their job.

To jest, tylko kiedy czytamy cos, ze nie ma zadnego sensu w ogóle ze nawet zdajemy sobie sprawe, to robimy.*

*It's only when we read something that doesn't make any sense at all that we even realize we are reading. To a Pole, that's the first sensible thing I've said. laugh

How about this new restaurant in London...you have to be totally starkers....they are fully booked for months ahead...would you have the nerve....confused .. ...
Molly....laugh ....would you be up for that......
Nah.....the neighbours would see you.....your co-workers would see you......help ....
Map, that doesn't surprise me.

It's only half as warm here, and I only out on clothes if I really have to.
Biff, I did try for an S&M ice cream, but the few available would have got me banned from CS doh
Z, Surely you could simply "whip" some up?, Perhaps a beater on your cake mixer might help, as long as its got flavour and won't gag anyone.
Map, you just got added to my private list for comment of the year yay
Map, you were bound to say that laugh I'm a bit tied up at the moment but I should be able to whip something up later rolling on the floor laughing

Biff, it had to be S&M ice cream due to the blog you won it on professor
Map, thank god you joined CS, it would be a lot less witty without youcheers
Z, you just got your second comment on that list. You're on a roll.

Whipped vanilla is perfectly acceptable. I still, however, don't see any ice-cream. blah

No, I am not a nag. I don't easily lose track of the point, though. innocent
Log out and back in, Biff.

It'll disappear.
Ok Ok, it's being delivered now, don't eat too many flakes it'll spoil your dinner professor

Z...we need one of those in Switzerland...(memories of childhood)...confused ...actually, maybe a career option there...applause ....
This IS dinner. Dinner music and all, ta, you spoil me.

Dinner with Mr Whippy. How am I going to explain this one away? uh oh
Mr Whippy is about as close as I can get to the s&m ice cream without attracting modular attention laugh
Cal, they'll never allow that noise in Switzerland rolling on the floor laughing
Z...rolling on the floor laughing ...how right you are...
Sundays are the worst...if you want to sneeze....rush inside....doh ....
Molly, you should see my kitchen now.

I may just take photographs. uh oh

Okay, I could also have visitors, the way this is starting to look, but they'll have to sleep with me in my room. This is almost too good to miss.

Or they could sleep in the front garden. The back is still slightly alarming. So much for getting everything done today, now it is raining. What more could get in the way? Take me now!

Er, I said that on my blog, right? where it would be safe?

Words. Tricky things. grin
It's raining here now too, after a lovely day.

Which means I've got to take the dog out walking in the rainmumbling

I'll have to turn the hair dryer on the freezer too.

1st world problems
I did an emergency defrost the other night - hairdryer, knife, spatula, windscreen defroster. Health & Safety NIGHTMARE.
I left the door of mine open by accident during the week, that's why it needs to be defrostedblues

And I turned the dial to zero and now I can't remember what it should be at this time of the year.

Work is me.
You may be a great speller with paper and pen but you are at the mercy of your spellchecker.

Autocarrot rules ...
Seemed I missed a bit of this blog, I was viewing viewing my picture radio and got engrossed in the storyline.

It's certainly odd that reading can turn out into the various merits of kitchen hygiene and freezer excess ice removal practices along with portions of Mr. Whippy.

Would anyone care for a bacon and tomato toastie while we wait?

Don't mind if I do, ta.

I'm mixing my virtual with real food here

Well, semi-real mumbling

I am doing a big shop tomorrow, so in the non-cooking variety of food, I only have bread and cheese

It's better than nothing
Molly.....Switzerland calling... .doh .....shopping!!! sunday!!!
Oh god, that sounds a bit like Holland, Cal.

Here you can do practically anything on a Sunday that you can do a weekday.
Only acouple of little places open here on sunday, for essentials.....
No excess noise allowed...ie..lawnmowers, drills etc....
No washing of cars.....doh
I have a message from a man who is intrsted. What is "intrsted"?

I'm so glad I changed my bio to read "tall men" and "must know how to spell" the quality of my mail has - okay, not changed at all. I have no idea why men of 5'7 or less find me irresistible, while men taller than me pass by without a second glance.

sigh
Wow, Sunday is the day most people do stuff like the here!

It is only offices, doctors, etc., are closed on Sundays here.

It's business as normal otherwise.
