Coffee Klatch...

There are a group of friends that I get together with at the local coffee shop. We meet a couple of times per week. We have our own table in a room where no one else in the shop will be disturbed unless they stand in the doorway and eavesdrop.

One day my friends and I were tasting coffees from all around the world. We were giggling and thoroughly enjoying the flavors and aromas of the different beans.

An acquaintance of mine came into the shop. He saw and heard us in the separate room and he stopped by the door to see what was happening. I waved to him and invited him over.

He turned up his nose and said, "I wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with you coffee loving idiots"

Surprised and a little dismayed, I replied, "okay. Well, enjoy your day then." I gave my attention back to the table and continued enjoying these excellent company and magical elixirs called coffee.

A couple of days later, I ran into this same acquaintance. He was really angry. He told me that I had a nerve, taking up space in the cafe, laughing and carrying on with a bunch of idiots.

I told him that I didn't understand why it would bother him, since he has the choice to just get his coffee and sit at another table with people he likes better. He said that he thought it was wrong for me to have this group of people that I enjoy so much and that he was going to tell the manager to kick us out.

The management, realizing that it was jealousy and unwarranted anger that caused the complaint, denied the request of the 'hater'. If only all managers of establishments could be so fair minded. *sigh

GYpsy, Haters will always hate, jealous of your fun and laughter it would seem, but to say anything against coffee and coffee lovers is a terrible crime.hug

Meh, you got no style wannabe Rambo.
I have been told coffee is a drug. Maybe he was only worried over your health Gypsy.
Hello Gypsywave We had a similar table at one of our former coffee shops,, It was a huge square table that had 9 chairs around it. Those chairs were welcome to anyone, who enjoyed a few laughs, and good conversation, yay It was referred to as the table of knowledge rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing , It was a pleasurable place to have a coffee, yay
The coffee shop has been gone for a few years now, and oh how I miss that table of knowledge.crying
121, see now I feel happy for you that you had such a good time with friends. Why do others feel all threatened by that, I wonder. Especially, if they are invited to join. dunno
Hi pretty Gypsy, blushing

I like you and if you liked me too, I would have coffee with you. coffee

I had a similar group that met at a place called "Coffee Breath" café. Everyone who was in our group, every time we took a sip of coffee, right afterward they would let out a real loud, "Aahhhh!"

Every time, after every single sip. We sometimes did it at the same time like a chorus, and it came out extra loud then.

So, some of the other customers who were trying to eat their breakfast and spiked coffees in calm quietness, sometimes complained to management.

When one lady complained to the manager, the manager took a sip of his coffee and said, "Aahhhh, okay I'll let them know." laugh

Have a fun day. hug
Robert, I do that after my first sip...religiously. coffee coffee coffee Ahhhhhh.....
Gypsy, My mattress is full of beans, so are my pillows! help
Is there anything that smells as good as roasted coffee beans? I ask you....smitten
Right, 121. I am the same way. It's fine by me that the doom and gloomers don't want to hang out with me. Just don't enjoy it when they think I should not be having fun just because they are miserable.

It's so nice to be with people who can lift each other up through laughter. cheers
Thanks Mic kiss

In reality I don't look even half as nice.
Sounds like the acquaintance is having a real big problem besides jealousy. Poor guy!!

Well, I'm glad "your" manger is fair minded!!
That sounds like a great time. handshake I would cherish such memories.

Hey 1to1wave
Gypsy, to me that is what coffee shops are for.

To drink coffee and meet with friends.

That acquaintance of yours is not somebody I would want to be acquainted with.

And this is from a non-coffee drinker who totally appreciates the beauty of coffee coffee
Yes! I mean, how can we fun people be responsible for the miserable ones? It's not possible, nor is it anything I want to waste my time doing. :)

I choose to stick with the fun ones even if I have to find new coffee shops to hang out in, in order to be with them. cheers
