The Protective Spirits

I got a friend. He would come over...ahhh...about once every week or two and we would sit down bs and drink coffee.

Now, I am a bit old fashion. I bought all my coffee mugs from Good Will. To me, a coffee mug, is a coffee mug, is a coffee mug.....as long as it holds coffee and I can drink from it, it is fine and dandy. laugh
Well, I had this one particular mug that was off-white in color on the inside but it had a factory glaze defect on the bottom inside. There was like a dark spot and when I first noticed it, I thought there was something stuck to the bottom of it. I scrubbed that sucker silly and it would not come out. So I took my finger down there and scraped across it and that is when I discovered it was a glaze defect. Well, it still held coffee and I could drink from it, so I kept it. laugh

So anyway, I found it strange that when my friend comes over now and I offer him coffee, he refuses. After refusing about 3 times he says that I make my coffee too strong. laugh It was fine for him the previous times he drank it. In fact I would refill his cup about 3 or 4 times. I am suspecting he got my famous glaze defect special and I think he thought he was drinking from a dirty cup. rolling on the floor laughing

Well, about a week back or so....I heard a crashing sound on the kitchen floor. There it laid in pieces, my special dirty mug. laugh

I think there might have been some sort of force unknown to man telling me something. thumbs up

strange female anomaly

I know this guy, he is a good friend. He recently told me about 100's of women who started to send him friend requests on FB. He told me, I don't know what is going on. So he decided to start chatting with some of them.

He showed me their pictures. They are gorgeous women in their 30's.

So, he figured some, if not all, these women are most likely scammers. So he told the ones he was interested in talking with, to take a picture of themselves holding up three fingers. He said some never responded back.....some took offense...and some actually did take selfies with three fingers being held up. He even showed me. Beautiful ladies, holding three fingers up.

He was even more baffled as to what was going on. Because he figured he would not get any of these women to actually do that because he figured they were just scammers. So, he could not really figure out what was going on.

Finally, a possible explanation. After talking with these women for days, they started to come clean with him. These women had some stuff in common. They had children and they were about to become evicted. One woman even told my friend that she could learn to love him.

So...take that for whatever it is.

My friend figures that people were set up. They were given all this unemployment money. They were told that they did not have to pay rent. With the additional unemployment money they were given, my friend figured that they no longer qualified for welfare programs due to their income now being too high. ...and on top of it, these people will need to pay income tax on that income....and they are without a job in many cases.

To me...the easy answer to these women's problems is to go out and get a job. But, is it really that easy for them to do? What happens to the children when they start working? Maybe they don't have parents that will watch the kids for them. What happens if employers are hesitant on hiring them? As far as I know, a person's credit rating is assessed by potential employers...and if they have not been paying their rent, then what?

Anyway...food for thought. I am still wondering how hundreds of women decided to send him friends requests....but, I have seen it with my own eyes and the problems that some of these single mothers are facing seem to be the real deal.

dunno

The only thing I can think is...no matter what, it is difficult to escape the consequence of our decisions...even more so today with privacy eroding.

Reliance on technology is becoming a problem, we need to take a step back

If all the computers in the world failed for 24 hours, I believe the entire world would crash and anarchy take over.

Right now we have vehicle manufacturers about to go bust due to a chip shortage.

It has become almost impossible to buy a PS5 games console. Toyota, Ford and Volvo have had to either slow or temporarily halt production at their factories. Smartphone makers are feeling the pinch too, with Apple warning that the shortage could affect iPhone sales.

Yet financial institutes are reliant on computers and the internet, all banking is done via IT and the internet

Now children are being taught at home using computers when a classroom is a far better learning environment.

This morning I was told in a local store there is a 6 month wait for the brand of washing machine I was going to buy due to the chip shortage.

I think that society as a whole has become way too dependent on IT and the internet.

There is a saying. “ Never put all your eggs in one basket”

Broken sleep cycle...

I was a musician in my teenage years and often deprived myself of sleep rehearsing and playing gigs. After the music career subsided, my obsession became model helicopters and weekends were late night marathons of building, catching 2 or 3 hours sleep and heading to the field for a few hours flying, lunch then a nap and Sunday night getting back to a normal sleep cycle that I maintained during the week.
After a divorce, I cared for my father until his death. To do this, I took on several part-time jobs so I could check on him, cook a meal, administer medicine, cat nap and head to another job.
30 years later, I find myself doing the same broken sleep cycle syndrome. I'll work on a design project, catch a few 'winks' shower, go to work, come home have dinner, take a nap and start all over again.
I read somewhere that Thomas Edison possessed a similar ability to work to exhaustion, take a nap (on a cot in his workshop) get up and continue with his projects.

Retirement wasn't something I considered and I was with my daughter this evening (setting up a wireless printer) and she's going out for a week on job training. Her comment was 6 more years until she can retire. I know if I retire it will be a never ending series of projects, be it home renovations or hobbies. Collectively, I'd be getting 6 hours sleep every 24 hours, but it (most likely) won't be in one session.

Septum stretching

So after discovering that the septum embellishment that I have been wanting for years, cannot be done with a 14 gauge tunnel - I'm going to be 100% real with you all, I was heated. very mad

I tried various ways to thread that 14 g tunnel, and even used a sewing needle threader, to no avail.
sigh

Whatever! Ugh!

I thought maybe I should stretch it up to a 12 gauge instead. That's plenty of room for a string of thread to slide through; however, it's not advised to stretch up more than one side at a time. See, me knowing how that could end with Saturn retrograde in my chart. I know better than to test the fates on that. It's not worth it.

What I wound up doing, is instead of going to a piercer, I used a pincher that I have in 14 gauge after watching a few YouTube video's of people doing theirs at home. It stung for about 20 minutes, but wasn't that bad. Today, it doesn't feel like I did anything to it at all. I'm wriggling my nose and it's not sore or bothered or anything.

That excites me, so I plan to give it a 30 days resting period before doing that 12 gauge stretch, which I most likely will get done at the piercing studio.

Being vaccinated for work.

I just heard a story last night where a woman's employer was requiring all of their employees to become vaccinated, or lose your job. She hired a lawyer and won. She did not have to become vaccinated and still kept her job...but she was told to keep her mouth shut.

Not sure how much truth there is to this...just something I heard.

Seasons

Most people say we have 4 seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For many that is quite true. Truck drivers, have 2, Winter, and Construction. Motorcycle riders have 2 as well Riding, and non riding. At the moment I'm in my riding season, and not looking forward to the other season.
I love the feeling of freedom when riding, the wind in my face.
Long road trips are my favorite, it's a great way to see the country.

I went to look for You

Dear God, I address these lines to you with great pleasure, with a small smile on my face and an enormous suffering in my soul (You know everything better) 5 years ago I lost my baby (she was my little girl and my life) which I loved more than life itself, more than myself. She was 4 years old. Then I took the bike and decided to go for a bike ride to relax, to clear my mind (I went to look for You) 4 years later, I lost the 2nd baby (a boy this time) that -I loved just as much, the suffering in my soul was even greater, because the loss of "my little girl" had not completely healed .... I continued to "look for You" but only recently I realized ... IN ALL THIS TIME, YOU HAVE BEEN WITH ME, and for that I would like to say Be Blessed Lord. And don't leave me, I need you more than ever.

Just saying

Help yourselves as I will not be commenting.

You are not vaccinated, I respect your choice,
I am vaccinated, respect my choice ...??
I'm vaccinated, not to please the government but:
* To not die from Covid-19.
* To NOT clutter a hospital bed if I get sick.
* To hug my loved ones (vaccinated).
* To Not have to do PCR or antigenic tests to go to a dance, go to a restaurant, go on vacation and many more things to come ...
* To live my life.
* To have my kids/grandkids go back to school and play sports.
* For Covid-19 to be an old memory.
* To protect us.
On the other hand, no, I don't know what's in it - neither in this vaccine, the ones I had as a child, nor in the Big Mac, or in hot dogs, or in other treatments, whether it's for cancer, AIDS, the one for polyarthritis, vaccines for infants or children.
I also don't know what's in Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or other meds, it just cures my headaches, my pains ...
I don't know what's in the ink for tattoos.
In short ...
There's a lot of things I don't know.
I just know one thing: life is short, very short, so I still want to do something other than just going to work every day or staying cloistered at home. I still want to travel and hug people without fear, find a little feeling of life "before".
As a child and as an adult I've been vaccinated for mumps, measles, rubella, polio, chicken pox, yellow fever and a few others; my parents and I trusted the science and never had to suffer through or transmit any of said diseases ... just saying.handshake
