yes yes no questions allowed but seriously, how confined are you in your area?
Tuesday I had to do an emergency trip as a passenger with my dog and it required applying for authorisation for 2 people in a car. The authorisation had to be printed off for presentation on request. I then sat in the back seat on the far side with the dog in gloves and mask. Me and driver, I mean. Not the dog.
Just wondered how that compared to what most people would have to go through to get a sick dog to a vet - if anything. The fine if we hadn't got the authorisation would have been around 1000 euros and potentially being turned back.
Would really help if any comments included country or even province / state. It could be interesting.

I recall actually pontificating to others, how obesity was, excepting in very rare genetic syndromes, a matter of self control. If fat, you are a slob, just deal with it. Knowledge of the adaptive relationships between the hormones secreted by our different types of fat cells, the leptins, and the adiponectins (sp), and others, and how these relate to our brains (HPA circuits, etc.),---now tell a much more nuanced story. Think healthy Suomos. But I digress.
Science is often more confirming, than discovering. Many religious traditions long recognized the benefits of fasting. It really can help to live longer and healthier lives. Listen to the yogis. Of course this should be combined with other life style shtick. Listen to grand mom.
Now, as I examine my reasons for blogging here, I find that it follows the narcissism of seeing myself in print. And what KEEPS me here, also has to do with seeing the reactions to what I rant about. It's about dopamine driven compulsions, short loop pavlovian reinforcement, among a few other factors, such as flirting with the hotties.
So, let's see if there are any benefits of fasting as to CS blogging intervals. Still can use this outstanding site to sniff continuously about the world. Finding the ideal woman. Oxymoron supreme? But let's just see. And learn. Tootles.
So, while in this isolation state that most of us are sharing, have you had any epiphanies? Any newly discovered purpose for your life? Any thoughts you feel are worth sharing? Anything you think may be meaningful to anyone else?
Me....I just got back into playing Spades. :)
...been thinking though.
Happy isolation all...stay safe.
An awareness of my need to find a means of displaying useful information in such a way as to keep it beyond the bounds of forgetfulness came upon me a while back. A timetable of refuse collection days would be a good example of such information. It took a surprising length of time for me to come up with the solution of fridge magnets.
Some people collect fridge magnets from the places they visit on holiday, but I never go anywhere. Others like “humorous” ones that express their personality, even when it would be better left unexpressed. They don’t seem to make fridge magnets that express my personality, and I wouldn’t want anybody to see them if they did. Besides, I don’t like that sort of thing; it’s no better than T-shirts with slogans printed on them.
When I looked on-line I was disappointed to find that nobody sells fridge magnets that are just magnets. The ones I reluctantly settled for are meant to look like little hands performing the thumbs up gesture, although you would have to study them for some time before that became apparent. I prefer them not to be studied at all.
What’s that I hear you say, “they are only effing fridge magnets, for God’s sake, what’s the big deal?” But it is a big deal, and it’s not just fridge magnets. Everywhere you look they are trying to sell you “fun” items to cheer up your home. I don’t want a cheerful home, and I don’t want anyone brainwashing me into thinking things are fun. And if I were looking for fun I would be hoping for more than a magnet that looks like an arse.
Anyway, I have to admit that my fridge magnets did do the job they were intended for, and for that reason alone I felt obliged to give them a five-star review on Amazon.
Since I had to go out to get some postage stamps and such I took a drive out to a nature park that's rarely ever used and nothing had really changed out there that much.I saw a blue feathered male duck and saw some wild flowers which were in bloom along the pathway and most of what's usually not flooded was flooded. It was a nice walk and all.Thank goodness it wasn't as busy like the other park I had stopped at the other day.By the time I had arrived back at the trailblazer I was tired but it was a good tired.Stopped at a gas station and then headed home.
online today!
I made it to Walmart this morning 10 minutes after opening to do (what I consider) weekly shopping. Since this area is on a stay-home order, I got a few extra items to minimize my trips out... important things and not 4 bottles of Coke like the last trip!
Expecting the panic buying to be over... I was wrong.
Displays of fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs all looked like normal. This time there were a limited selection of meats, better than the last visit.
It was the paper products aisle that was empty.
I did see one woman with a package of toilet paper so there must have been some stock that got scooped up in 15 minutes of the store opening!
Footnote;
I have changed the settings to allow comments this time, just don't expect any reciprocation any time soon.....if at all.
Jon Taffer (Of 'Bar Rescue') gives insight on how restaurants can survive the current pandemic and what type of shifts they'll have to make in their business model after.

I noticed a few active members have become less active. Probably due to the global lockdown. Hopefully everyone is okay...
rizlared, attempted to get back to Philippines where he owns a house and was sent back to Dubai via UK.
HarbalEsquire, usually active must be preoccupied with things elsewhere.
Dongg, quiet for a few days was last seen negotiating a contract to sell N95 masks to the NYPD.
BadlyDrawn, went off the market last month. It's time to shave, shower, sharpen some pencils and get back here. Actually, I suspect his hiatus is moderator invoked. Sorry.
Seriously, with a pandemic going on, I sincerely hope everyone is doing well.
Favourite stretchy white top which is a bit too dingy now with age to go public
Favourite old blue pullover, so soft after years of use it is like wearing a cobweb
My old painting slax - a bit of a splashy painter, me, so they had to be retired from public life. Two weeks and counting, they are a tiny bit tighter despite the daily exercise routine
Slip-on trainers - one very short step above slippers
No makeup
No shower today - washing my hands every single time I touch anything outside my house, in this dry country, I am saving water elsewhere
Yeah I know, wow. The queue can form to the right. No shoving, in fact 2 metres apart please.
I hate living in lockdown but you only have to look at the difference in figures to see it IS worth it. On March 11 I starting tracking the countries where I know people, on a spreadsheet. Spain had around 2000 cases. The USA had around 1000.
Yes we have terrifying figures despite the lockdown but - instead of having double as many as the USA, we have half.
But I am not a pretty sight.
anyone else prepared to share their isolation look ...
