Ouch

I restrung my guitar a few days ago and decided on a new string and a new string size. I went up in size and got a higher output string. Sounds great, the online reviews were correct. Because I got bigger strings though, my hand is not used to the tension and my hand is a bit sore now. Also, I was so honed in on the size I was using, I got to retrain my hands to do what they were used to doing on a smaller string. In a few weeks, most of that should be taken care of but for the moment, its a slightly painful retraining exercise.

They sound good though, worth the effort grin

indoctrinated into darkness...What is the next move?

What is the next move?

I see it here in my small local communities...people openly accepting and displaying their desire to not only follow dark religions, but to show it with clothing they wear.

From what I see...it started with dividing people.
Then it followed with the genders becoming confused.
It then became where the genders went to war with each other...hating each other.
The next stage, we see the social acceptance of the dark religion through media and music.
Now today, I see people openly displaying their acceptance of this darkness.

Do you see the progression too?

What is the next stage/move?

Another side question...look at the progression I just mentioned. Does this progression mirror anything in history that we are aware of? Does Charlie Manson ring a bell? Does this not mirror the manipulation that Charlie Manson used...the only difference is, this is on a macro level.

So...what is the next stage/move?

Depressing and Judgmental.

I think it's so sad seeing people who have so much, acting so depressed and being so depressing.
I don't have all the answers but I mean I just wish people could take one day at a time and try to be positive throughout their time. It's almost like some people are afraid to be themselves.
Whether they are going through addiction or they have an eating disorder or they are gay or trans or overall just having a bad time in life. I think much of the depression comes from people being so judgmental. I don't know, just wanted to say that.

Pet Peeves

We all have them, and if you don't think you have any, well then I say you're kidding yourself, or lying about having them. laugh

I have a few, and here they are...

1. Inconsiderate people

2. Drivers who don't use turn signals when they turn

3. A driver pulls up to a stop sign at a four-way stop, and then you pull up to one on the other side, and then another car pulls up behind the car you're waiting on to go so you can continue ends up pulling up to the stop sign after the other car goes and continues on through the stop sign when in fact you have the right of way. This happened to me for the very first time yesterday on my way to work. Talking about being p*ssed off. very mad

4. Thoughtless people

5. Noise pollution

6. Car stereo systems with bass turned up high to where it shakes everything around you

If you have any, feel free to list your pet peeves.

Aging

I want to write a poem
But I'm not sure if I should
It's about the process of aging
And the effects which are not so good

Anyway, here I go and
No matter what you may think
The time will come when
Your health will not be in the pink

Your skin will start to sag
And wrinkles will appear
It's a natural process
One which you should not fear

Your body joints which once had
A lot of flexibility
Will begin to tighten up
And cause you pain and anxiety

Your ability to focus
And to multi-task
Will weaken as you age
And become a thing of the past

You may find yourself asking
Did I do that or not?
For your sake I hope
That does not happen a lot

Some folks reading this may say
Such things will not happen to me
In response I say to you as you age
Let us just wait and see

Still jet-lagged :-(

Been back in Omaha for 11 days now but I am still suffering from jet-lag. Thankfully, I don’t need to get back to work and my Spring classes at the Community College only start on the second week of March.

I left for KL airport on the early morning of Feb 9th, around 4am. Flight to Narita airport ( first leg of my journey ) was delayed for almost an hour and a half and because of that, I had to run to catch my connecting flight to Houston! Had a 5-hr layover in Houston and it was almost 10pm when
I got into Omaha and 11pm when I finally got home.

Had one of the best Mexican food the following night.

I know Chinese New Year 2023 was officially over on Feb 5th but I had promised my Malaysian friends here in Omaha that I’ll have small get-together once I’m back from my Malaysian trip.

As promised, I made the ‘Prosperity Toss’ for my friends. Not too shabby for first attempt.

Was invited to a CNY party while I was in my hometown. A ‘Prosperity Toss’ with a twist, not your usual Yu-sheng.

Another one on the second day of CNY. Just like the one at my mom’s, this was store-bought too. This was at my ex-husband’s aunt’s house. She’s a Malaysian-Indian but thought it was fun to celebrate CNY with me since she hadn’t seen me ever since I left for the States.

Apart from the ‘Prosperity Toss’, I made nasi lemak ( our Malaysian national dish ) too for my friends. I brought back half a kilo ( I bought 2 kilos but had to leave the rest behind coz my 2 big luggages was filled to the brim!! ) of dried anchovies and deep-fried them and my friends went crazy! Lol Art hated the smell of the anchovies that permeated through the whole house ( basement too! laugh ) when I deep-fried them and I told my friends they better appreciate my efforts coz them darn anchovies nearly cost me my marriage! rolling on the floor laughing

My friend posted our get-together on her FB page. ‘Kecoh’ means noisy, fuss, excitement or all that into one! Lol It’s true, when we Malaysian women get together, there’d be non-stop talking, eating and laughter, laugh Art always describes us as cackling hens!

Well, I’m looking forward to my next adventure, an European adventure perhaps? cool

Spring ready, both Art and MiMi!! applause

WHITE

Yesterday, I did some laundry. I lightened the load in my basket by washing my whites, as well as some towels, bed linens and floor mats. There was an abundance of white - tops, a sweater, a dress, vests and undies. I like wearing white.

It is pleasantly surprising the various positive perceptions that theorists have of the colour White. Whilst I have known about some of these, intuitively, the descriptions I collected during a recent Google search seem to be justifications for why I feel the way that I do about the colour white.

“White represents the crisp cotton of just-washed linens and spring cleaning. The colour white is a representation of purity, unadulterated truth.”

“A preference for 'white' colour shows innocence. White reflects all other colours. It embraces innocence, peace, virginity, solemn, hope, purity, kindness, consideration, patience, simplicity spirituality, soothing, simplicity and Idealism.”

“This primary colour traditionally symbolizes innocence, peace, and cleanliness. In Western cultures, the colour white also represents purity and virginity, while it symbolizes mourning in some East Asian cultures.”

“Research shows that white spaces have a positive effect on mood and energy. White spaces are known to help you experience restfulness, airiness, calm and joy. In colour psychology, white generates a sense of purity, balance and harmony.”

“White color is associated with calm and serene. The purest of all colors, the white, holds clarity, freshness, simplicity and being organized in its traits. People who love white color are often seen to be calm, balanced, fearless, optimist, independent and have a strong opinion.”

“What is white personality? The white core personality are peaceful people, logical thinkers and none-controlling. "Everything comes to he who waits." White Positives: are diplomatic, easily agreeable and accommodating with an even-tempered personality.”

I enjoy looking at and wearing colourful items too, but I wear whites most often, most days of the week. Aside from the obvious visual effect of white against my skin, wearing lingerie, blouses and dresses in white (especially lace, cotton and or silk) makes me feel clean, cool, relaxed and classically fashionable. I can easily pair it with anything, in any colour, and it’s so versatile that it looks great on anyone, regardless.

Apart from that, based upon the assertion by psychologists, I seem to be a ‘white personality’ type, which partially explains why I have always aspired to be a peaceful, optimistic, independent and even-tempered person. I’m also organized, but can be unfriendly, indifferent and naïve (according to yet another search result). Overall, the revelations have boosted my mood, as well as my resolve to keep buying and surrounding myself in/with even more items of ‘white’.wine

So, what about you? What’s your preference? Are you a red or a yellow personality? Or perhaps some other? grin wave
