Sometimes I include a family size fruit pie in my weekly shopping. It could be cherry or rhubarb, but is more usually apple. I do my shopping at the weekend, and will typically have a piece of the pie mid morning on the following day, with a cup of coffee. I then cut the pie into segments and put it into the freezer. It normally lasts me for the following two weekends. I am single and live alone, so my customs and habits are of little consequence to anyone other than myself, but it has occurred to me that I would find this pie carry on very irritating if practised by someone I had to live with, so I must assume that anyone who had to live with me would also find it trying. In all conscience, were I ever to find myself becoming romantically entangled with someone, I would feel morally bound to declare my pie situation before things became too serious. There are also other matters that I would feel obliged to be up front about.

A person walks into the casino with $100. They are hoping to walk out ahead. $50 gone now, they now establish that they want to at least walk out with a $20 bill. When all is said and done, they walk out with zero.

Self control-, if you do not do it for yourself, nobody else will be able to do it for you.

...however, I have seen through the years were people are unable to control their own impulses.


Would you want to be in a close relationship with a person like that.


I would be a little leery. ...especially if you are thinking you are in an exclusive relationship.

Last night I dreamt that all the days of the week had different names to their usual ones. Monday to Saturday were named after the Mitford sisters; starting with Unity through to Pamela; Sunday had become Edith, after Edith Sitwell. I had never heard of any of these people before my dream, and had to look them up on Google. I wonder what it means.

In this week’s laundry there were two shirts; a blue one and a red checked one. The blue shirt always had blue buttons and the red shirt had white buttons, but that is no longer the case. When I took the clothes out of the machine I was astonished to see that the blue shirt now has white buttons and the red shirt has blue buttons. I can’t explain it; I suppose it’s just one of those things. I can live with white buttons on the blue shirt, but blue buttons on the red shirt just looks wrong, so something needs to be done. There are seven buttons on each shirt, but, as I said, I’m prepared to put up with the white buttons on the blue shirt, so it is just the seven blue buttons on the red shirt that are causing the problem. However, I cannot replace the blue buttons on the red shirt with the white ones without removing them from the blue shirt first, which seems a pity because I don’t mind them being on the blue shirt; I only mind the blue buttons on the red shirt. It just seems so unfair that I have to deal with fourteen buttons when only seven buttons are bothering me, and, quite frankly, I am having trouble accepting it. I have decided to put both shirts back in the wash and hope that the problem sorts itself out. I realise that this is a long shot, but it’s worth a try.

Get back on track. Or get there for the first time. Called epiphanies, such films are only one type of such really important items. Often serendipitous. Sometimes like a slap up side the head. Often bringing on tears. Sadly, after the initial warm and fuzzies, many of us simply jump right back onto the Mandela. Recently, I've met a number of folks for whom such an experience took the form of a pilgrimage, of any number of religious traditions. Oddly, I had been considering making such a trek, and running into, one after another, folks who had recently done the one I'm considering. Then a friend placed a film on the topic in my hands. After all the tears, just hope I keep the high, using it to grow, rather than stagnate.

I don't watch much TV, but tonight I was channel surfing and came across the show COPS. That's the one where they film police activity and at the beginning of each show they announce "Due to the graphic nature of this program, viewer discretion is advised."

Tuning in late to this episode, the police had observed a drug deal and moved in to make a bust in a park, getting both parties. The bad part was one guy was there with his pregnant girlfriend. From the look of things, they were living out of their car. I believe he was the dealer as the guy who walked away from the transaction was the buyer and actually had the drugs in his pocket.

Although the boyfriend was arrested, the cops were helpful to the woman and would get information to her about keeping in touch with her man who revealed to the police he had been incarcerated before. Thinking the judge would only give him probation would be a miracle on his part.

Sad, but I guess good habits are hard to break.

Heard on another TV show "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

I am probably one of the most boring people when it comes to extreme thrill seeking. I don't know if you would get me going to the mouth of an active volcano, or hanging from the side of a cliff without some sort of safety measures.

Coming from that mindset, I wonder if people who are extreme thrill seekers should be locked up for their own safety.

That lady in the commercial who gets here new high-end exercise bike looks scared to try it out for the first time. Hmm...

It is coming....this Friday for those of you who don't own a calendar.

Normally, I wouldn't think really anything of it....but as I lay here on my couch with a fever and really not much better to do, well....

Somebody who seems to be a very down to earth person....from across the planet...who has a reliable source has informed me that thing from Dec 15 to March 15 might be a bit rocky, at best, for America and Europe.

political / natural disaster wise...


I sure hope she is wrong.

One of these days I will come up with a blog that actually puts a smile on people's faces.
