The Preppy Killer

Did you hear about the recent parole of a woman killer?...It all went down in a New York City park in the 1980's...
Robert Chambers a lovely young man who was charged with murder but was reduced (he pled to a lesser charge)...due to the testimony and other 'supporters' believed that it was in fact an accident...conversing
He admitted to killing his friend Jennifer (after it became clear that he could not lie about his involvement) in a 'rough sex' went wrong accident... wow
At first he suggested it happened as the young lady was the aggressor and he was defending himself...later he said he applied too much force...idea liar
Adding to this seemingly unreal tale...his lawyer painted this young lady as a slut or bad girl...Robert on the other hand was a good looking, tall, popular lad who went to one of the best schools in NYC...heart beating
If you were privy to see the autopsy photos...I would beg to differ...but then again...this took place in the 80's... uncertain
Another ace up the defense's sleeve was his mother's friend a Catholic Church Cardinal called Uncle Ted...vouched for Robert's virtue/good character...innocent even gave him refuge...
So you can see why the prosecution decided to plead him down to a lesser charge... very mad
Little did they know that Robert's friends and family hid his thievery and drug addiction from the public...shock
It gets better...he gets 5-15 years in the clink but had some behaviour/conduct issues that resulted in him doing the full 15 years...drug use/ smuggling to name a few...
Just when you think you heard enough...there is more...jaw drop
After his release from prison...he decides that dealing drugs out of his apartment is a great job...good for the community...roll eyes
Robert gets busted and spends approx.15 years or so in prison again...his girlfriend gets rehab...maybe they think she has been through enough...stuck
So now he is free and going to be someone's neighbour...
Good Luck New York...wine

400 years of history up in flames.

The big talking point at work today was the fire in Copenhagen this morning, where the old stock exchange, simply known as Børsen, or The Stock, burned for several hours.

If you are not familiar with what I am talking about, it's this

Embedded image from another site

It's one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen, dating back to 1623, and it's been used as a stock exchange until 1974, where it was converted into an office building. It's also a tourist magnet. The part of the building on fire in the picture is the Dragon Spire, which dates back to 1625. It was shaped as the tails of four dragons intertwined, symbolizing the protection of the gold that trade would generate for Denmark.
The spire also had three crowns at the top, symbolizing the kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Legend has it, that the spire would protect us from enemies and from fires.

To us Danes, this is a piece of our history being destroyed. Some say it's our Notre Dame, which is pretty accurate. A lot of people were shocked - some even cried, because it's a pretty big landmark going up in flames.

The building was under renovation, and it's highly likely that someone on the renovation crew started the fire, by accident. It's unknown at the moment what started the inferno, but the police are beginning their technical work. It'll take time, but it will be worth it.

Once the technical work is done, the parts of the building that has burned, will be demolished, and new construction will begin. How much will this cost? It's unknown, but a minimum of 200 million kroner. The CEO of the Danish Chamber of Commerce, has said that no matter what, the building WILL be rebuilt.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in this tragic disaster, which is the most important thing. Most of the furniture and artwork from the building was saved, which was a huge relief. If they were lost in the fire, it would have been a loss that you couldn't put an amount on.

To put even more salt in the wound - it happened on Queen Margrethe II's 84th birthday.

Of all days..

Now begins the job of building back better than before, but one thing about us Danes is: We're a determined bunch. If we see a task ahead of us, we complete it - no matter the price or duration.

A building might be gone - but our spirit isn't!

Election Interference aka Hush Money Trial...

Depending on who you listen to, Trump says it's election interference by Biden and the Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Okay... some will believe that story and form that opinion.

Another opinion is paying off a porn star to hush an affair (while married) so as not to adversely affect his status in an election, making it (reverse) election interference.

Since the money was misuse of campaign funds that sent Michael Cohen, his personal attorney to prison, his CFO Allen Weisselberg to jail, it would seem logical for Trump who okayed the transaction to be found guilty as well.

As a side issue: Pending with the Supreme court is a decision of immunity that Trump claims he has. This happened prior to him becoming president. Kinda of a stretch on the Constitution and law.

Anyway, today starts jury selection for the court case for the hush money trial... TAX DAY in America.
Befitting for a man who claims not having to pay taxes and knowing more than the IRS when it comes to tax loopholes.

Israel is being attacked at this time

Israel is under attack by Iran. Drones from Iran are on the way at this time against Israel.

Hopefully, Israel will defend themselves against Iran, and eventually put Iran in their much needed place. My country (U.S.A.) needs to stand behind Israel and help Israel defeat Iran's regime.

Pray for Israel and its people.

This is laughable by any standards

In a post on Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the 'clink' for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela - It will be my GREAT HONOR

Mandela wound up spending 27 years in prison for leading the African National Congress (ANC), which opposed apartheid policies that kept South Africa's Black residents segregated, often in inhumane conditions.

While rulers all over the world were busy empowering themselves and their friends, he was busy empowering his people.

Get over yourself Donald you are no match for Mandela and your comment is an insult. The only person you try to empower is yourself.very mad

An earthquake centred between New York and Philadelphia shook skyscrapers and suburbs across the northeastern US for several seconds Friday morning (Eastern Standard Time), causing no major damage but startling millions of people in an area unaccustomed to such tremors.

Gesture Search...

Google released a phone app back in 2010 called Gesture Search. The program reads your contact list and allows you to finger write names to quickly call up people in your list.
To me, it was the most effective dialing app to date. While most hunt for a name, I would swipe the letters of a name and the list would populate.
Need to find someone named Fred? As you begin to swipe F R E any matches would appear. Tap the selection and it would make the call.
I was able to clone that application from phone to phone long after Google stopped supporting it, which was odd that something so useful could be dropped with nothing in the app store to replace it.

A few years ago, I purchased a factory refurbished Samsung phone said to have a new battery. Model Note 10+ it was under heavy use and the battery would get 2 days between charges. Eventually, the performance decreased and it wouldn't get me past noon needing a recharge.
The memory was full (with over 6,000 photos and movies) so I installed a 512mb SD memory and removed lots of photos I didn't need. My phone is used in business and it's amazing when a client describes some design, I can pull up a photo of something previously done. Wall units... got 'em. Aquariums... got 'em.

I was doing random backups in the event the phone was lost or stolen. Seeing how Samsung is now up to S24 in their series, I figured it was time for an upgrade. They weren't offering much for a trade on my old phone, but I didn't think waiting would be more incentive to upgrade.

All photos and movies combined is more than 300 gigabyte so I ordered one with 1 terabyte of memory, enough for many years.

All the Samsung phones come with Smart Switch application to backup, save and clone phones. It can be done wireless over Wi-Fi or with a direct phone-to-phone cable. The cable being a quicker means of transfer.

I spoke to tech support for the best way to switch the SIM card and enter the IMEI identification. He agreed to call Saturday at 7am giving me time Friday night to do the backup. Watching a few YouTube videos detailing the steps, most transfers were between 1 and 2 hours. I started along and within a few minutes it estimated the backup to be more than 4 hours!
I left the phones doing the transfer and went to bed, getting up at 6am to confirm the transfer was successful and all the apps would start to update. The tech called and we changed the SIM. There were some issues with passwords that had to be entered manually, but I got around it. All the visuals transferred so look like my old phone and folders with the same name that were in the phone memory and SD card were merged. Not a bid deal, I need to do some housekeeping in photo storage.

My favorite app was greyed out as it didn't make the transfer. I did some research and it's not able to run on the latest version of Android. I searched the name and found another app said to be similar, but it's function wasn't to my liking.
I'll keep on searching for a suitable replacement.

I'm still going through the phone turning on (and off) settings to suit my needs. Email notification is only a beep. I'm looking for the visual, so I can see without having to 'light up' the screen constantly.

I shot a few movies and more than 50 photos today. I'll download them to see how good the high resolution camera is. I sent one photo to a friend and it was so high-res it sent it as a link. I'm sure there is a way to reduce the size for text messages.

As they (whoever they is) say, when all else fails... read the owner's manual.

How to raise $454 Million...

Like him or not, Micheal Cohen brought up some interesting discussion about how Trump could raise money to post bond for the New York civil fraud trial. Trump had claimed to have the cash. He doesn't or he would have posted bond and stop the accruing interest.
If he liquidates properties, it won't be soon and he will have to pay taxes on the long-term capital gains, as high as 40% and pay off mortgages too.
Chubb already fronted money for the defamation case against E. Jean Carroll. What corporation or billionaire will front him money knowing there's a chance it won't be repaid?

There's always a suspicion he will back channel money from a foreign government... Saudi or Russian. That would put him in a compromising position of favoritism should he make it to the White House. Other suspicions are he's holding on to some of the classified documents that could be a negotiating tool. Cohen states our national security is at risk.
As he says... it's No Joke.
