Why Liberals (And not-so liberals) are against President Trump.

A.) He lies. A LOT. Politifact rates 70% of the words he speaks as “Mostly False or worse” Only 14% of the things he says get a “Mostly True” or better rating. That is an absolutely unbelievable number. How he doesn’t speak more truth by mistake is beyond me. To put it in context, Obama’s rating was 26% mostly false or worse, and I had a problem with that. Many of Trump’s former business associates report that he has always been a compulsive liar, but now he’s the President of the United States, and that’s a problem. And this man expects you to believe him when he points at other people and says “They’re lying.”

B.) He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.

C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-like life. 1 Corinthians 5:11

D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.

E.) His ideas on “keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms—he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.

F.) He couldn’t pass a 3rd-grade civics exam. He doesn't know what he’s doing. He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise And that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.

G.) He behaves unethically and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.

H.) He is damaging our relationships with our best international friends while kissing up to nations that do not have our best interests in mind. To his question “Wouldn't it be great to have better relations with Russia?” The answer is Yes. But it is RUSSIA who needs to earn that, who must stop doing the things that are damaging to that relationship, or we are simply weaker for it.

I.) He has never seen a shortcut he didn't like, and you can’t take shortcuts in government. “Nuclear Option, Remove the Filibuster, I’ll change the Constitution by Executive Order…” Don…what happens when you remove the filibuster and the other side retakes the majority in the Senate? Suddenly want that filibuster back? What happens if you manage to change the Constitution by Executive Order and an anti-2A president wins the next election?

J.) He behaves and has always behaved as an unabashed racist. Yes, I’ve seen your favourite meme that claims he was never accused of racism before the Democrats…Absolutely false. Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019 See the Central Park 5, the lawsuits and fines resulting from his refusal to lease to black tenants, the 1992 lost appeal trying to overturn penalties for removing black dealers from tables, his remarks to the house Native American affairs subcommittee in 1993. The man sees and treats racial groups of people as monoliths.

K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.

L.) He speaks and acts like a demagogue. He sees the Legislative and Judicial branches of government as inconveniences, blows up at criticism no matter how deserved and actively tries to countermand constitutional processes, not to mention attempts to blackmail and coerce people who are saying negative things about him.

Crazy Days

I just turned off my various news feeds a few minutes ago. I just
can't watch any more of it.

Everyone is so angry and deeply entrenched in their thinking that
there is zero chance for compromise. There is even no chance of
one side hearing what the other side is trying to say.

It is no longer an American election issue. It is no longer an abortion
issue. It is no longer a race issue. Nor is an issue of drugs, gangs,
violence, education, taxes, debt, mortgages, religion, government or
legal heavy handedness, climate change or even interpersonal
relations.

No, finally, it is everything.

We have now been effectively divided. Logically, the next step is to be
conquered.

But by whom?

Or, are we just arriving at the end of time...............

wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow

I fully expect a heaping portion of vitriol and self indulgent negativity.
Fire away folks. I think it's your last dance.

Our Daily Bread...

This blog isn't about religion or politics. It's about bread. Yeah... bread.
I'm teaching English to my wife on a daily basis.
Does she remember every word? Nope.
Do I expect her to? Nope.
However, if I give her some background to words... especially, slang/street talk, she has a better chance of remembering the word.

Back to bread. Bread is a slang work for money.

My son-in-law came to America from Italy more than 10 years ago. He's already become a US citizen. Broken English but it's getting better. He often has friends and family here to visit and they go to a place that makes hand-crafted pizza with a light flaky crust. It's fresh when ordered. He was the one who said good bread only lasts a day. I agree.

Blogs, for the most part can be like bread and only last a day!

Thanks for reading my blog...

Shifting The Blame

I guess nobody likes to take the blame if it can safely be shifted onto somebody else. It is normal human behavior. The further we can shift the blame, the better. We try to get as may people as possible between us and the blame.devil

Sometimes, when there is no way out, we buy face by taking half the responsibility. It is just to say: “Look, I’m not responsible. Somebody else is to blame but he does not want to own up.”innocent

And when all the fingers point at you and there is no way out, we play noble and take the blame square on ourselves. Nothing noble there, were just making martyrs of ourselves while trying to show others how just we are.wink

We’ve been like this since the beginning of time. It is interesting to note who is blamed when Adam and Eve appears before God after screwing up big time.hmmm

Eve has no problem. She can blame the serpent. She does not take co-responsibility. It was the serpent alone. batting

Adam however, has a problem. He had no dealings with the serpent. Other than himself, he only has his wife to blame. But does he do that? Oh no, he’s way too bright for that. He shifts the blame straight onto God. He Said: “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree.”mumbling

A wise man Adam was indeed. What right-thinking man is going to jeopardize his next nookie by snitching on his wife?idea
cats meow cats meow
A great day to you and remember, the further you shift it, the better.wave

School in Europe teaching the 'Muslim' way

Local European schools took their kids on field trip to a local mosque. At the mosque the kids were forced to bow down and pray to and for Islam. The worst part is there is overwhelming parental approval. How do we know this? Because you can see parents (who were volunteers on the field trip) standing and smiling in the background.

Immigrants Turn Around And Go Home After Seeing Updated National Debt Figure

TIJUANA—Thousands of immigrants waiting to get into the United States turned around and went home Wednesday afternoon upon seeing that the US government's national debt is now rapidly approaching $22 trillion.

Migrants quickly changed their minds about becoming American citizens when they saw just how much money they would have to pay in taxes over the next few decades just to keep up with the rapidly growing national debt's interest. They had heard America was a great place of opportunity with plenty of programs to assist the poor, but figured out that the math doesn't quite add up and that the government would be broke soon enough anyway.

"We came here for the great benefits and opportunities, but then we realized that if we became Americans, we and our children and their children would owe a ridiculous amount of money," one man from Guatemala told reporters as he packed up his things and prepared for the long journey home. "Thanks, but no thanks. We'll pass on becoming US citizens."

While they acknowledged their impoverished home countries weren't much better, they said the $22 trillion number was "baffling," and caused them to realize the welfare and entitlement programs the bulk of the budget is spent on simply aren't sustainable in the long run.

"What on earth are you guys spending such an obscene amount of money on?" one central American woman wondered aloud. "Like, you should probably get that under control. It's basic economics."
