False memories....instilled quite nicely...

...in a recent blog, I wrote about Germany's PC self loathing, NAZI guilt prompted policy to ban homosexual conversion therapies. May be harmful to the homosexuals it purports to help, as most alt left policies often are. Don't take my word for it, just look at Democrat ruled US larger unlivable cities. But another such issue from psychotherapy is surely that of instilled false memories via directed counselling techniques. It semed to begin decades ago, sometimes in efforts to victim shame. Likely abused kids, and some victimized adults, were interviewed by marginally trained police/hospital social worker types, using all sorts of problematic tools and techniques (anatomically "correct" dolls, leading questions, etc.) to obtain convictions, and to yank kids out of their nuclear families. Much has since improved, with better techniques to convict these abusive perps. But as a spin off, for a time, there was a small movement in directive counselling to morph real memories into, well,---pick your own politically biased policy on victims and families. Notice, unlike the movement to protect the small percentage of persons practicing deviant s*xual choices of behaviors, we never heard of policies to ban such therapies. Kids and rape victims could never compete with the darlings of the alt left---homosexuals. Ya think?

Democrats marginally edge over the top in a couple of US states....

in modest turnout, unwatched (except by the left biased media---all frothing gleeful at the jowls) mid term elections. Mostly with support of government school teachers' unions. The same folks behind the much worse performance, ocompared with private and home schooled pupils, while typically vastly onerspending per pupil by government schools. Now Virginia.and possibly Kentucky, may have to look forward to the lives led by citizens in the dreadful deteriorating conditions in most democrat ruled US cities. We recall how under such conditions and rule, the streets of NYC were dangerous from petty and violent crime, until Mayor Giuliani took over from successive democrat mayors. Yes, the same Guiliani now persecuted by the team COUP. Recently, Democrat ruled Austin, Texas, began to have similar deteriorating (homeless used syringe and street defaecation) conditions, as in most democrat ruled cities. The hard core republican state Governor snipped all this offf at the bud, with buckling city cooperation, and little, suprisingly, heard from the biased media. Imagine all that.

Thunberg Lecture Required To Buy Fuel

New Law Requires You To Listen To Greta Thunberg Lecture Before Purchasing Gasoline

October 7th, 2019
U.S.—A series of new bills working their way through state legislatures in New York, California, Oregon, Hawaii, and several other progressive states will require you to listen to a Greta Thunberg lecture before purchasing gasoline.

Motorists will be required to watch a 20-minute lecture by the 16-year-old climate activist before they purchase gallons and gallons of harmful fossil fuels.

"We want to make sure drivers are informed," said California Governor Gavin Newsom, who says he will sign the bill into law. "So we are having them get lectured by a 16-year-old so they will have all the facts before they do something rash like put gasoline in their cars to go to work."

Once the driver has listened to Thunberg's entire lecture, they will be prompted to complete a quick, fifteen-question quiz to show they understand how horrible they are for driving a car. Drivers who get at least 80% will then be allowed to refuel their vehicles. As they refuel, the screen will simply play a clip of Thunberg saying, "How dare you!" over and over again.

The law will not apply to celebrities purchasing jet fuel.

Sometimes the comments are better than the stories...

I usually click on Yahoo for a search engine partly because I get to see some headline news. More entertainment value than factual news or things really not important in my world. I'm sure Meghan Markle is a really nice lady but I don't think she needs to be the top story on a daily basis.

Today, I see a story about Dangerous Snakes Sold In South Carolina and a man who drove 4 hours to buy 3 venomous snakes at the Repticon wildlife show. He was quoted as saying “It’s a thrill buying these. This is the closest big show that sells venomous snakes.’’

Of the funny comments:

"Common sense is not this guys strong point. Please don't have kids."

(It’s one of the few venues where people can walk away with a cobra, rattlesnake or other species with few restrictions.)
"Unbleeping believable"

"I had a cobra. I divorced her."

"I collect baseball cards"

"Darwin was right."

"Who in their right mind wants poison snakes around? Wasn't it the snake that cause the fall of mankind?"

"Just what I want to keep in my bedroom. Something that if it ever escapes it's enclosure can kill me while I'm sleeping."

"Well, I don't understand it officer, I left the snake on the floor to watch my kid while I went outside...."

"I have always wanted to go into business for myself and stop working for bosses. Now I finally have a calling. I am going to become an antivenom distributor based in South Carolina."

The Virgosign on picnics.

Today is the last day of July, the month dedicated internationally to picnics .... and therefore the great outdoors ! Not here though. In this, on this small island, we are a very poor nation. The little there is is inundated with building waste material, rubbish, or illegal encroachment by caravans and bird trappers’ RTO notices. All to a backdrop of towering cranes and noise.
So we don’t do picnics. We do beach barbecues ! The black small mounds of soot and unconsumed charcoal which pepper some of our popular rocky beach spots and the resultant eyesore of overflowing separating rubbish bins have become a norm, accepted by a people who seem to have given up.
But on this, maybe some other time ...
Peace cool

Valuing first principles over tribal impulse

Good article here by the inimitable Glenn Greenwald on the pervasiveness of tribal impulse in society - and the very real harms that stem outwards as a result. We counteract this, of course, by operating off a solid base of first principles - which apply equally to those we dislike as those we like.
