Super Bowl LVII

Feb 12, 2023, look for my Cincinnati Bengals to meet the San Francisco 49'ers in this years Super Bowl. The only times my Bengals went to the Super Bowl was in the 80's, in Jan. 1982 and Jan 1989. Both were against San Francisco. Last year my Bengals went to their third Super Bowl, and we played the L.A. Rams, who just knocked off San Fran. My Bengals lost again in that one, but now everything's coming together to get that sweet revenge I had been waiting for with a third meeting with San Fran.

Right now my Bengals will have to get past Kansas City this coming Sunday, and San Fran. will have to get past Philly.

Any football fans out there with any thoughts, feel free to share.

NFL is back and I am watching

NFL fans who boycott the games because of the National Anthem protests by some players are the losers in the debate.
I have been watching NFL football since I was 6 or 7 years old. Every Sunday I looked forward to watching my home town team the Detroit Lions with my Mom and Dad. My Mom who was born in England also was a fan of the Lions and sometimes she would scream louder than my Dad at the TV screen.

I have fond memories of watching the Lions for 60 plus years and I am not going to let some 2 or 3 hundred protesting players ruin the game I love.

My opinion of the players is two fold. It is their first amendment right to protest anything they want. It is also my right to voice my opinion of them and my opinion of them is I consider the protesting players to be over paid America trashing wealthy ungrateful ingrates who I call 'A$$holes'

People can boycott all they want, but I consider it their loss. I refuse to turn off the game that I love all because of a few hundred 'A$$holes'.

That's my take on the NFL National Anthem protests.

Champions

Best of luck to the Irish Hockey team in an hours time in the World Cup Final.

It's been over 150 years since we've appeared in a final, so many of that squad have since retired, but we're back with a new batch of green killa's.

Will our long wait finally come to an end this afternoon. Dare we dream.

(admittedly the wait wasn't particularly arduous for me, as I only found out we had a team in this morning's paper. )

Go on Ireland
irish good luck thumbs up

Twitching Muscles

A few weeks ago, I wrote, a bit of exercise wouldn't kill me.

Think I will retract that statement rolling on the floor laughing

Tuesday evening, I attended a beginners fitness class, doh

Beginners my a** uh oh

Started with 5 reps of 8k kettle weight swings, 5 kettle squats with lift followed by 5 press ups, for 5 minutes.

From there we hit a circuit of 3 mins sit ups, 3 mins pull ups, 3 mins mountain climb, 3 mins kettle squats, finishing with 3 mins of pushing a heavy yoke the length of the room. My muscles were burning like hell sigh

Was this really a beginners class dunno

We then did 10 kettle swings, 10 kettle squats with lift, 10 push ups, and sprint to the other side of the room, then 9 of each & sprint, 8 of each & sprint, 7 etc until we hit 1.

Lastly, it was sit ups, at this point, I was glad just to lay on the floor, looking at the ceiling, and thank god, I didn't throw up or pass out or indeed quit.

That was Tuesday, and my muscles are still twitching, barely able to lift myself out of the chair, let alone lift another kettle weight - Doing the same next week, moping woop woop, cant wait wow

Pickleball...

One of my neighbors has a bumper sticker that reads: Pickleball Let's Play. A few times a month I see a news link with claims that Pickleball is becoming the fastest growing sport.
If you don't know the game, it's a cross between tennis and ping-pong. The court is smaller than tennis, the racquets/paddles are larger than ping-pong. Often played as a doubles game. It gives the quick reaction to a familiar sport with less injury than conventional tennis.

Drew Brees vs. John McEnroe

I haven't seen John McEnroe in years. He's 64 years old now and looks terrible!!

What a Game, New England Patriots, What a Game.

They were beat up at the first three quarters of 21 to nothing...

I felt like those days when I was watching the 49ers with Joe Montana ending the game so spectacularly.

This time it is Brady.. Tom Brady will go down in history with this game. And the whole New England Patriots of course

This is one of the best game ever that I have watched...What a twist...Just when I thought my team is losing...

What a game...

Congratulations to us who love the Patriots...Congratulations....cheering cheering

SUPERBOWL 2015

So the countdown is on. The Superbowl is this Sunday. I'm excited, as I am every year, because I love football. I'd be SUPER excited if my Steelers were going, but I am still going to be watching. The half-time show should be awesome, and the commercials are always the best. I have made the necessary preparations for my annual party, so I'm ready. I'm rooting for Seattle!cheering

AUSTRALIA V ENGLAND cricket fuss

At the test match yesterday at Lord's cricket ground, an England batsman was stumped by the Australian wicket keeper for wandering outside his crease. The batsman, Bairstow assumed beforehand that it was the end of the over, so the ball was dead. But the Australian team jumped with delight at seeing him out. The umpire hadn't officially declared that it was the end of the over so technically the ball was still live and the player must be deemed out. A mass protest ensued and the Australian team were booed by the crowd and called cheats.
This brings into question the right spirit of the game and the Australians capitalised on the situation when, if they showed the right sporting attitude, they should not have stumped the England player as he assumed the ball was dead and the Australian player knew that, but took the opportunity to gain a crucial wicket without showing the right sporting spirit.
Is it important in any sport to show the right sporting attitude, or is winning at any cost the only objective.
