Games people play

No, really, games, like video. My tennis partner invited me over for a match last week. After, he showed me a video game he was playing. In this game, he can capture creatures like T Rex, sabretooth tigers, dragons, griffins etc.

He texted me to come over. He has 2 Dragon eggs and wants to give one to me. He told me I can hatch it, name it, and watch it grow. I can choose between a water Dragon or a poison dragon. I can't decide which one to pick! This is so exciting!

All Wrong

Did you ever start doing something when you suddenly realize that you've completely messed up? Yeah, me either.... well until just now.

So I'm drawing a gymnast and not thinking at all apparently. Then it occurs to me just how wrong the body is for a gymnast. See if you don't agree

Could you imagine that girl doing gravity-defying flips and such? It's ridiculous, right? What the hell made me draw a gymnast with no arms and no feet?

Im back

From handing the keys over to a beautiful Chevy Silverado. Im over the moon. I came in in my day off but it was so worth it. I love my job. I cant remember the last time i said that. Its funny how it took me 30 years to find something im really in to.

As for the boss, he’s cooled off after the 9 year gap was revealed. Lol. I’ll not let that bump in the road slow me down.

Astroturf and spirit guides

Astroturf and spirit guides have more in common than you realize. The lesson can be learned through regular meditation followed by some herbal tea.

Communism

Is when everybody who isn't married or related by blood live together as one family. They usually wear jeans, plaid shirts with the sleeves rolled up and sandals. They raise chickens, garden and macrame plant holders, necklaces and bracelets for sale at the annual Renaissance festival.

I got pulled over by the police... License, Registration, Proof of Insurance

The other morning, on the way to work, I tried to get through an intersection but it appeared there was an accident under the light and at least 10 cars couldn't get through. To avoid it, I made a right turn into the parking of a drug store that went out of business nearly 3 years ago.
There was usually trash and overgrowth of shrubs in this place and more often than not, some homeless people had taken residence in the store front covering. I noticed there were 2 police cars side-by-side and they were talking. Having seen this hundreds of times, I didn't pay any attention to them.
Before I could exit the parking lot, I heard a siren an saw red and blue lights flashing in my rear mirror. I stopped. Rolling down my window a cop came up to my car asking if I knew why I was pulled over. My response was "I have no idea." He explained I was cutting through a parking lot but my reply explained about the blocked intersection and... the drug store was not in business anymore.
While he was checking my identification, the 2nd police car pulled alongside me and a woman officer got out. She mentioned it was 'private property' and I was trespassing. I said, there were no signs stating this and she pointed to a (really small) sign pasted on the side of the building column that read: Private Property - Keep Out.
I chuckled and said maybe they should have chained the entrance with the sign or posted it in a place where the warning was visible from the street and not AFTER someone enters the property. She nodded and somewhat agreed but said they were only giving me a warning and I shouldn't cut through the lot anymore.
The other officer came back with my ID and repeated it was only a warning. They had trouble with homeless people camping out in the lot leaving garbage and the landlord called on the help of the police to get them out.

Watching out for motorcycles...

There is a lot of public awareness about watching out for motorcycles and sharing the road with motorcyclists. Bumper stickers, billboards and highway warning signage mark the roadways I travel on. While I don't want to see someone get killed or injured in a motorcycle accident. The odds are... when a motorcycle tangles with a car, the car wins!

The carpool lane is the inside lane with a double line separation to the regular lanes. That separation is roughly 2 feet wide and NOT to be used by motorcycles as a private lane. Well, that's with Department of Transportation says and everyday it gets used as if it's their private lane. Catching an accident for rolling between cars that are bumper-to-bumper is risky, but not life threatening.

I've taken a few road safety courses over the years and they recommend you look in the rear-view mirror at least once every 10 seconds. The speed limit is 65 and you're going 80, cars are flying past from both sides... I reverse that training and look toward the front every 10 seconds.

Tonight was no different. Traffic was moderate and moving fast. Drivers acting like it's a full moon and they need to get home before the hair and fangs appear.

I looked in the mirror to see nothing. A split second later there's someone on a 'crotch rocket' coming up from behind, so fast he has to weave in and out of traffic to avoid colliding with the flow of cars. All you need is one car who cannot gauge a motorcycle traveling in excess of 120 miles per hour to make a fast lane change and that accident will block traffic for 10 miles.

Watching out for motorcycles... who aren't watching out for you.

TPMS...

The TPMS is a Tire Pressure Monitoring System that is standard equipment for all new cars. It's part of the tire valve stem located inside the rim where you add air to the tires. The sensors are linked to the car's computer and a warning light on the dashboard will come on to alert the driver when the tire pressure falls below a predetermined value. For my car, it's about 28 pounds of pressure when the sensor activates the low pressure warning.

I typically have my tires filled to 32 pounds of pressure.
We've had some cold weather this month with morning temperatures in the high 50's. Tires normally filled when the weather is in the 80's will have much lower pressure at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the warning light comes on.

After 15-20 minutes of driving, the tires have warmed up and the pressure is back into range. The warning light goes off.

This weekend, I'll add some air to each tire enough to keep the warning light from coming on, but not so much that it's above specification when the outside temperature is back to the 80's
