What’s it like

To live in the USA? Probably similar to those living in other like countries.
I will speak for myself using info shared by my family and coworkers.
I lent 20 to my coworker for gas and she used a credit card to put 10 in gas to last me until payday. We bring extras to work if there’s a buy one get one free to share.

My water and other utilities are scheduled for shut off. I’ve no WiFi for over 2 months.

I own my home so don’t qualify for health or food benefits.

I pay my taxes, follow the law and survive.

I thought that’s what everyone did. It doesn’t matter where I live. I imagine I would still make minimum wage and be behind on bills.

I am free though. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. If I did, I wouldn’t have my loyal friends and know what it is to share and help others in need, first hand. I wouldn’t have ridden in the mountains of Colorado, cycled Vermont, exhibited art in California, bought from farmers markets in the Midwest, kayaked Minnesota lakes and walked the beaches of two oceans.

It's been a week...

It's been a week and I've lots more to do.
The car has more than 1,000 miles on it... not new now. Synthetic oil is standard and rated for 10,000 miles between changes. I'll get my first oil change next week and most likely change every 5,000 miles.

Four more years, four more years...
I caught pieces of both conventions and while I turned down the sound on Trump, I did read some of his captions. I lost count of the partly true or completely untrue statements. What I think doesn't count. It's what happens on election day... or in the case of mail-in, what the tally of the votes are.

Saturday and I'm headed to the showroom. Not my favorite duty but I'm up this weekend.

More reading on the car manual as time permits, I'm part-way through some switches and buttons. There's a switch for sport mode and the speedometer changes color to red. I need to verify if I can change the mode when the car is moving.

Arrested Development

I started watching this show and it cheers me up every time. It's so silly and clever. It's so not PC. Lol I love it.

Slower traffic keep right...

The signs are on the highway. Now that I'm doing half the miles as I did when I lived in Miami, I still enjoy a drive on a few roads in south Florida.
This was the case on Sunday when I drove to Miami Beach to drop off samples to a customer, catch a few model helicopter flights with friends, get a haircut, visit my daughter and grocery shop. I logged in more than 150 miles.
The 2 main roads were I-95 and I-595 that each have 5 lanes.
Speed limit on both is 65mph.

Yesterday I was in the middle lane for most of my travels and at times doing 80-85mph.
But... that doesn't matter how much I exceed the limit as cars fly past me on both sides. What pisses me off is when they swerve around and cut in front of me from both sides so aggressively the 2 cars almost collide.

It's not like I'm doing 50 being tailgated and in the wrong lane, but I find that I have to prepare well ahead of my exit as cars that normally merge to the right into the deceleration lane. Often I see drivers who are willing to drive on the right shoulder, cut in front the car making an exit, then skate across 2 lanes to get back into the flow of traffic.

I did have a theory that worked for a while... Stay in the left lane and limit the number of morons to only the right side. I did have one try to sideswipe me on the left as he squeezed into the safety zone.

Slower traffic keep right...

I need to apologise...I know where I was wrong...

I am dying to find each and every person whom I offended.
My tragedy is, I remember them but they have forgotten me

Lamborghini crash...

I caught a local news story about the driver of a Lamborghini who was speeding and ran a stop sign. He was T-boned by a Nissan SUV that caused the Lamborghini to flip an land on a house.

A mistake in the reporting:
(1:45 seconds) "the person in the 2nd car who was hit by the Lamborghini..."
No lady HE hit the Lamborghini, not the other way around.

The driver of the Lamborghini fled the scene, which is a felony in the state of Florida.
